I love that these Tampons are green! I thought the box they came in was really cute and I loved that they were individually wrapped and there were different sizes. I found that they were quite difficult to unwrap at times and quite 'fluffy' and the extra cotton seemed to fall downward into the string which wasn't very good. Absorbency was great. I found them a little dry feeling - although still soft. I love that they come with great instructions which is a great reminder or first lesson for some girls - this is extremely important to know all this information before you use any tampon. But a lot of girls will love that they are putting something green and clean in their body! Overall lovely result.

I was intrigued to try these tampons because as far as brands go in New Zealand, there is not a huge amount of choice. I liked the fact that they were free of any chemicals and were easy on the planet, but to be honest when I'm usually grabbing tampons I just go for the ones on special & hope that they do a good job! To my surprise, they actually did seem to do a better job than the tampons I have used previously. I have a heavy flow for the first few days so the supers lasted well and seemed to take longer to need to be removed. I appreciate the three sizes when it comes to periods because you never know how your flow is going to be month to month. I found they were a bit more prone to 'fluffing' while unwrapping the package, but this wasn't a huge deal to me. I am not sure I would be completely convinced to buy them if they were more expensive than other tampons, but I would definitely recommend them to my more environmentally conscious friends.
Tips: Be careful when you unwrap them, they have a tab pull and if you dig with your nail too hard the tampon can end up getting fluffy
i have used these tampons for the last week, the quality of them is the same as tampons you'd buy from the supermarket if not better. They are super soft cotton like texture and have the different sizing to fit everyone , When i thought about biodegradable tampons, i thought they would be more likely to fall apart but you get the same amount of use out of them as regular synthetic tampons. My only negative about these tampons is they get slightly fluffy at the base where the string is and they can be quite dry when using with a light period, i usually buy the supermarket ones with the outer coating to be more comfortable when inserting. But theses negatives have not turned me away, i think their just like any other tampon, so why not use them when their better for the planet and probably ourselves.
I've been curious about organic tampons since their recent appearance in various online articles and websites. I'm a tampon girl and always have been but I'm always really skeptical when it comes to different tampon brands.
I shopped around for the organic tampons that were the best value for money, taking shipping costs into consideration. Go Green took the cake here at roughly $11-$12 for 32 regular organic tampons plus shipping in Auckland. A little more than I would usually spend on synthetic tampons.
The package arrived in the mail within 5 days of placing my order. The tampons were posted in their green and brown eco friendly envelope with the tampons inside. Each tampon is individually wrapped in a clear plastic with a green unwrapping tab running horizontally around the tampon. (Each tampon size has a different coloured tab).
During my last menstrual cycle I trialed organic tampons for the first time. Day 1, 3 and 6 I used my usual synthetic tampons. Days 2, 4, 5, 7 and 8 I used Go Green tampons. (I seem to be blessed with really long periods and figured that alternating brands would help me put both brands to the test to compare them).
I need to feel confident that my tampon will last between 6-8 hours without leaking. Go Green tampons achieved this.
I need my tampons to feel comfortable- as if they are not even there. Go Green tampons met this expectation also.
Observations that may be noteworthy (I can't say for sure that they were attributed to the different tampons or just because I was looking for a difference) I experienced less menstrual cramping and felt less sluggish on the days I used organic versus synthetic tampons.
I would definitely feel confident using Go Green organic tampons again in the future.
Easy to use and easy to remove, I found them to be more comfortable than other brands I have used and the feel good factor works for me too.
Tips: Give it a go.
Although it's not always the right time to talk about tampons this product is worth mentioning. Instructions in the packet are clear for girls who are first trying this product or need a reminder. The packaging is quite large but the green 'recyclable' component outweighs this so it isn't too much of an issue. The plastic(?) wrap around the actual tampons was harder to undo in a rush (compared to other brands) but once again the green/organic side is enough for me to still love the product and I would continue to use them and get used to undoing them. Absorbency was fine for me and size variety also great- obviously these will be different for every girl but there was nothing unusual or negative about these.
Tips: When undoing tampon wrapper use the red/yellow/green strip. Recycle packaging and know that you're using a product safer for your body (although TSS is always a risk with any tampon use)
I bought these for my last period and absolutely loved them and signed up for a year subscription on their website! I found that they go in and out super easy and hold the perfect amount of fluid. So comfortable and are fabulous for sensitive skin types.
Tips: Buy them
I got the change to green tampons in the last beauty vault. I was really interested to see how they compared to normal tampons, as where I can I'm trying to purchase things that are organic and more enviromentally friendly.
They come in a long cardboard box with 8 mini, 16 regular and 8 super tampons. Next time I'd get the one size set available online as I perfer the minis. You can tell each size both by the size of the tampon but also the coloured band on the plastic wrap. The minis are yellow, the regulars are green and the supers are red. All size packs come with 32 tampons for $8.50 which is good value when you think that you get half as many in a pack for half the price in brands like Carefree, so costwise they work out pretty much the same, the shipping is also reasonable at roughly $3 a pack.
Comparing these tampons to standard tampons such as Carefree or U by Kotex; these seem to be slightly larger in terms of the width of the tampon. The material also doesn't seem quite as molded or pulled as tight as the synthetic tampon material. Comfortwise I also found these tampons to feel more comfortable to wear than synthetic tampons.
All in all, I'd buy these again, but the synthetic tampons in store are more convenient for when you need them quickly.
Tips: Check their stockists as you can buy them in places like Commonsense Organics in some towns.
These tampons are great. Super absorbent depending on your flow. I was able to try all three of the sizes. All of them were easy to insert and the texture of the tampons are nice and soft. They are comfortable and you barely feel it. If you do not like applicator tampons, these are worth a try. The fact that they are made out of organic cotton is definitely something to consider if you are a lover of the environment. They smell like nothing and if you're sensitive down there it might be good to give them a try. I find that the price for this product is reasonable given that it is made out of organic material and affordable.
