I like the concept of this product but I did not enjoy the herbal flavour and i like using natural less and products with not very many chemicals.

Tips: Try the Smokers toothpaste.
Great herbal fresh taste (especially the smokers variety which is also a fantastic tooth whitener due to the dolomite powder it contains) however this product range annoys me a little as despite it's claims to be natural and fluoride free (which I agree should be avoided) most of the varieties still contain SLS which is a known problem chemical for many people and present in all main-stream brands. Also the smokers variant which was the last tube I bought contains sodium saccharin as a sweetner which is another toxic chemical I would want to avoid. It also concerns me that many natural brands are still including glycerine as a major component of their toothpastes which is linked to tooth decay and prevents re-mineralisation of enamel (you can research online for more information about this). Overall an ok and affordable option if you are trying to avoid fluoride containing mainstream brands but this is another green-washed brand of toothpaste in my opinion.
I'm really hesitant to review this product. To be entirely fair I didn't give it a proper go and I feel I can't really comment on it's effectiveness.
I only used this a few times before rushing out and buying a regular chemical laden toothpaste. My reason? The taste!
I could not get past that taste. The reason why I am reviewing is because, as on oral product, I feel taste is one of the defining drivers behind purchase. I am no fan of aniseed and upon opening I knew I had made a terrible mistake. It's also sweetened with stevia which I find gives a highly unpleasant mouth finish.
It did do a serviceable job of cleaning my teeth though so I wouldn't shy away from recommending it (I passed on the tube to a friend in fact)
Tips: Read the ingredients first on all products if, like me, you have taste aversions. A lesson I should have learnt a long time ago but repeat often
I love Red Seal toothpastes, I'll never switch back now that I've tried them. My breath is fresh all day, I have no staining or cavities and it's natural. I do prefer the baking soda Red Seal toothpaste to this one, but it's hard to find, so the herbal is a close second best.
I was brought up on this tooth paste, which also comes in a few other flavours (Smokers, Lemon SLS Free, Natural SLS Free, Baking Soda, Propolis and Natural Kids).
I only use this product for the fact of what is in it, I can't stand any toothpaste with fluoride in it as I personally believe it damages your teeth, and anytime I have used "other branded" toothpaste that contains toothpaste I start feeling sick.
The Herbal Flavour isn't my favourite, I prefer the Smokers cause of the strong mint taste or the Lemon for a different taste than normal.
Other factors I love about Red Seal Toothpastes include the fact they are Paraben Free, Colour Free, contain no Tricoslan, Peroxide, Potassium nitrates, or Strontium Chloride.
Plus, check out how affordable this product is! Not much of a price tag on this beauty.
Now this toothpaste was something I wa a little nervous to try out as, I haven't heard much about it, nor had I seen any ads about it either. But when I saw that it was cruelty free, I was already happy. All I needed to do was to use it. I would use this toothpaste again, as it smelt lovely and minty, was nice a white and I loved that it had baking soda in it (which I knew was a stain remover) I also loved the gritty feel it had in my mouth, it might sound really weird, but knowing it had baking soda in it, and me knowing what baking soda feels like in my mouth, I thought the product was very "real". It said it would remove stains- eh, it did but not all, but most, so check it is. it said it would give my mouth and fresher feeling-check and it also claimed it would leave my mouth a cleaner-check. Would I recommend this product to anyone else, yes I would, but, i would, also tell them not to expect professional results, as it doesn't remove ALL the stains, but a lot of them.
Tips: I don't really have a tip, just keep brushing twice a day! :D It does help whiten a little more.
I got this on a whim when I was away from home for work and had forgotten to pack toothpaste. I had recently read an article about how fluoride can damage your brain, so I was keen to try something more natural.
The price was really good and the tube is the same size as a regular tube. However, as much as I tried, I could not abide the taste. I actually had such an aversion to it that I felt like I was going to be sick when I was using it.
To be fair to the product however, I really, really dislike it when toothpaste doesn't taste like mint. This doesn't really. It tastes sort of weird and herbally with a hint of mint - it's a kind of strange sweet/minty taste. My sister really likes the taste (I gave her the tube after using it for 2 1/2 weeks and giving up on it).
Because I loathed the taste so much I will never use this again. I just disliked the taste so vehemently. It did make my teeth feel clean and fresh but I am a sucker for minty/chemical laden toothpaste.
This is definitely a massive miss for me but if you can handle the taste then I would recommend it for a more natural alternative.
I have been using this toothpaste for years, it's great! My favourite is Herbal but I also like Natural and Lemon. It leaves my whole mouth feeling sparkly clean and so fresh. I find other toothpastes a bit too strong and burny but this is gentle and tastes good.
I've used this toothpaste at a friend's place several times now. I was excited to try it out, I love and am all for products that are more natural. As a toothpaste it works perfectly fine, my teeth were clean and my breath was fresh, great.
I just can't get over the texture or the taste. The texture isn't smooth like you'd expect your typical toothpaste to be, I found it kind of grainy. Once you start brushing your teeth with it the graininess does disintegrate somewhat, but then the taste is something else entirely, it just didn't feel right brushing my teeth with it.
I would try this again and see if I can get used to it (perhaps in a different flavour) because I do want to use a more natural toothpaste.
I love this brand of toothpaste! Fluoride free is hard to find in a toothpaste. I love the taste and the almost gritty, graininess of the paste as it leaves my teeth feeling super clean. LOVE red seal!
