I adore the scent of tea tree so I was excited when I discovered this product. Initially I was a bit concerned because it was called "deodorant" not "anti-perspirant" but when I read the label it stated that it keeps body odour at bay so I went with it. My excitement soon disappeared after the first use which left my armpits burning for a couple of minutes. I had just shaved though so I put this out of my mind and went about my day. By lunch time I was reaching for my Rexona spray as my armpits were wet and smelly. While the product smells amazing, it definitely doesn't help keep my body odour at bay. I used this for a few days but after that I had to stop because it left my armpits ridiculously itchy. Now it's in the bottom of my bin.

The deodorant's packaging has the typical aesthetic of a Thursday Plantation Tea Tree product; a white container with lime yellow labels. The deodorant is a roll on, and the label completely covers the tube, so you cannot see how much product is remaining through the plastic. The scent of this product is what it says; tea tree, which is definitely a scent that is not for everyone. Although I enjoy the smell of tea tree, I didn't quite realise that it would be an unusual sensory experience to have tea tree smelling armpits and sweat! The deodorant scent is just straight tea tree with no other fragrance seemingly added, and it's a strong scent. I wasn't a fan of how after applying this I could strongly smell it on me, although I want roll on to make my armpits smell decent, I don't want the scent to overpower everything else I am wearing and clash with my perfume and body lotion. The other thing is, is that I didn't realise I strongly associate the smell of tea tree with medicinal products and acne products, so everytime I wear this I keep wondering why I smell like acne wash and have to remember its just my pits! To be fair, the product does promise to be tea tree scented, but the fragrance is very very strong, and I didn't quite realise how unusual it would be to have tea tree fragranced armpits, so just a warning! However, regardless of whether you like the VERY strong tea tree fragrance of the roll on (trust me I've never had other roll ons smell so strong), this just didn't work at keeping stinky armpits at bay. I'm not typically an overly sweaty person, and I find any old over the counter roll on usually works well applied once in a day and I never need reapplications or feel that I am starting to stink, unless I go to work out. However, with this, I have to apply it several times in one day because I can smell myself starting to smell like B.O after only a couple hours, even if I have been doing absolutely nothing to work up a sweat. This may be because it is aluminium free, I'm not sure. I just find this simply doesn't do the job, and I end up smelling bad whenever I use this and like B.O, which has never happened with any other deodorant. I wouldn't use this again as it just didn't work sadly for my pits.
I switched from anti-perspirant roll on to Thursday Plantation Tea Tree deodorant after developing contact dermatitis in my armpits after shaving. I thought the tea tree oil would help calm my skin and clear up the dermatitis.
While it has a strong tea tree smell upon application, this quickly wears off and the roll on needs to be applied every four hours to prevent body odour. Working with clients all day, this was not ideal or convenient for me, and I was paranoid about body odour. The one day I couldn't reapply frequently, and I did smell awful by the end of the day.
Another thing I wanted to mention, is that this roll on stings badly. It takes two to three minutes for the stinging feeling to go away after applying, and for the formula to dry on the skin.
Personally, I would not recommend, and will not be repurchasing. I have since switched to using Nivea Sensitive Protect Anti-Perspirant.
Tips: Reapply frequently during the day to prevent odour
Now I'm not a wiffy person and i try to use products that are friendly to my skin and as chemical free as possible. This is why I chose this product. I loved the smell when I applied it and it felt cool on my skin, but after about four hours i felt self conscious that I didn't smell like my normal clean professional self. It wasn't bad enough for anybody else to notice but it was enough for me to want to keep my arms by my side and jump in the shower at my first opportunity. I wouldn't mind but it wasn't even summer and I hadn't been to the gym. Its a shame as I have chosen to go back to my chemical roll on but smelling good for the whole day is important to me so that was my compromise, I guess I need to keep looking.
Tips: Might be ok for a couple of hours but only if you are sitting still
