LA Girl Pro Prep Smoothing Primer Review

This is the third primer I had tried and while it is easy to use and so affordable I didn’t find it did as I needed it to. A couple of positives about the product is it is easy to use in a clear gel formula and did go on my skin nicely, it doesn’t have any scent I can pick up and it’s sooooo affordable it’s a great every day primer but for me it didnt make my makeup last longer and it didn’t make my makeup apply any easier than a decent moisturiser for me.

At the price of $9 I got at it though I’m definitely not saying no to this product.

I bought this primer because my current primer was almost out (elf mineral primer) and this was a cheap and affordable primer. I have been impressed with this primer, and although I haven't used any high end primers, this primer does the trick well. It smoothes out my skin creating an even base for applying my foundation. I have combo oily skin and large pores on my nose, cheeks and forehead. This primer makes my foundation easier to apply, look more flawless and more even. When using this primer I find that my foundation stays on longer and doesn't go cakey as quickly. I do still set my foundation with powder. I apply my usual face moisturisers and serum then the primer on top of this.

In comparison to the elf primer, this primer is thicker. It is a clear primer with a silicon base which feels really silky and smooth when you apply it. I find that I have to use more of this primer than my elf primer. I use about a large pea size for my whole face.

The primer comes in a small flat tube which you squeeze to get the product out. The packaging and design is really simple, white tube with black writing and s black twist top lid. A whole tube will last me about 3 months when using it five days a week.

Overall I did like this primer and it did the trick but I would be interested to use another primer before purchasing this one again.

This is one of the first Primers I ever used, it was cheap and affordable for this gal who at the time of purchasing had to be budget conscious. It glides over your face quite easily and you don't need to use very much. It has a soft smooth almost silky texture to it. I found it kept my foundation in place as well. As my pay packet has grown, so has my taste for products like M.A.C so I don't use this anymore although I still have a tube in my Makeup collection and I would use it again if I had to. Would recommend if you are just starting out or on a budget, would make a great gift for your trendy teen.

I haven't tried much of a range of primers, but I do feel that this one is pretty good (especially considering the price.)

This primer is a light gel that feels very soft and smooth between your fingers and on the surface of your face. It seems to settle on the skin quite quickly, I usually give at least 5 minutes before applying foundation.

I have noticed that my skin looks significantly smoother and even when I use this primer as a base as opposed to no primer. In which case I can assume that it's effective in serving it's purpose.

Definitely recommend, even if you personally don't like it $12.99 is no great loss? (I actually picked this up from postie for $10, and will repurchase :D)

This was one of the first primers I brought. i have now tried an extensive range of other primers, which served to confirm my first thought. That this one doesn't really do anything.

It's sort of like a thin moisturizer. It is lightweight and easy to apply. It doesn't really seal the pores or fill in fine lines. It softens the skin very slightly and it doesn't really enhance or increase the longevity of make up.

The biggest pro of this primer, is that it's a great price point, making it a good entry level product for someone who is new to primers.

This primer comes in a little white tube with black twist off lid. It’s a clear gel and is very silky. It applies to the skin nicely and evenly. The highlight is that this primer is so affordable. The primer dries fairly quickly however if you are going to use it as an eye primer leave it a little longer to dry otherwise the eyeshadow will be clumpy and sticky. I didn’t find this primer made my foundation last longer nor did it minimise my pores or blackheads (current problem). It almost felt like another moisturiser.

Simple packaging. Clear looking gel, very smooth feeling on skin. Don't need a lot maybe pea size amount for full face cover. I notice an improvement in appearance and foundation goes on smoother and looks more polished. I like this as an affordable option. It's something I'd repurchase again in future.

I've tried a few different primers and this one is definitely the cheapest. It does an alright job but is nothing amazing.

It applies easily but I do find I need to use more than I use with other primers as it settles into the skin pretty quickly so I need a good dollop to cover my whole face.

It does make my face feel incredibly smooth and my foundation applies really well on top of it. Unfortunately though I haven't really noticed it helping with the longevity of my foundation.

Not sure I will rush out and buy it again as it hasn't blown my mind, but it does the trick and is very affordable! So I may repurchase sometime in the future.

I bought this product about a month ago, mainly because of the price! It comes in a small, flat-lidded tube. The product itself is a clear gel, with no noticeable smell. It's easy to rub into your face, and it dries fairly quickly.

It made my skin instantly smooth, and I loved the feel of it on my face. My foundation applied super evenly over it, but I didn't notice my foundation lasting longer throughout the day.

I think it's really good value for the price, but I probably wouldn't buy it again. Maybe if I saw it on sale somewhere, but I won't be looking out for it. It was decent, but nothing amazing.

I found that this primer balled up a little when applying if I had moisturising oil on my face. I think there are other products around this same price point that I would prefer. The feel, once it was applied on the face, was great!
