This eyeshadow base is the one I use personally on myself and the one I use most on my clients. It comes in a tube much like their other products, with the same kind of wand as their concealer. It is a white color when applied but smooths out clear. It leaves a nice little base that’s helps shadows blend even better! I have never had a single creasing issue with this product on myself or even the oiliest eyelids from some of my clients. It’s my favorite primer and I have tried a lot of them!

I have been searching for years for a product that stops my eyeliner bleeding onto my upper lids. I have oily lids and no matter what i tried i ended up with a black line on my lids when i get hot. I read some reviews about this and decided to give it a go. It is the best, and i won't use anything else now. No more moving of my eyeliner, ever, ever! It has a doe applicator and goes on white , but dries clear, it stops my eyeshadow creasing and eyeliner shifting. If you have oily lids, then this is for you. I have tried dozens of other products that didn't work for me, and i am so glad i tried this, as it acutally works. Its a bit expensive but i guess it works so its worth it.
Tips: You only need a little, it is a little drying on your lids if you use too much. So a little goes a long way.
A good base to apply eyeshadow on. This NARS primer is quite tacky once applied on the skin and gives a good base for eyeshadow products to stick to. It is not opaque so if you do have redness or small visible blood capillaries etc on the eyelids you may still want to apply some concealer - foundation - powder on the eyelids first so it looks polished
Will apply in a white toned shade and then blends out more clear on the skin. The applicator is a small and easy to use doe foot styled applicator, very easy to use! And the formula really is smudge proof and longwearing.
Tips: Apply a dot of eyeshadow primer on your eyelids and then use either your finger or a small eyeshadow brush to blend it across the lid where needed, this way you won't waste product!
My eye shadow always by the end of the day fades without doubt not even sure where it goes but it's almost nonexistent, I've never been into eye primer just because it seems like an unnecessary extra step. I have tried a couple but never really noticed any difference and didn't give them alot of use to see if I could make them work. I received a travel size of this Nars primer in my Mecca order, this one is pretty pricey for what I thought was an "unnecessary step" do I would have never purchased. I tried this one morning and to my surprise I still had eye makeup on at the end of day! Full pigmentation and all! I love the sleek packaging, there is no scent to this and you don't seem to get alot of product out at one time so you do need a couple dips, it does not blank out your lids so won't cover vains etc but it does create a nice smooth slightly tacky layer that actually works like magic! I usually wouldn't recommend a product like this but having used it I definitely think it's worth purchasing especially if you put in the effort of applying eyeshadow and want it to stay all day, I think this would be great to have for special occasions like your wedding day etc because it does help extend the wear time of eye makeup. Also you do have to put in a bit extra omph when it comes time to take off makeup but so worth it!
Tips: Definitely get a traveling if this won't be something you use on the daily, it's an awesome product to have on hand
I bought this a wee while ago as my usual Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion was coming to an end. I had heard a lot of good reviews of this product on youtube in particular from missglamorazzi (Ingrid Nilsen) who claims to have incredibly oily eyelids.
The packaging of this is very practical. It is kind of like a lip gloss. It has an opaque white bottom part, and a black lid in the usual NARS packaging that attracts finger marks like nothing else. The applicator is a doe foot. I don't quite like the packaging as I feel it makes it really hard to get the product out. Also as the bottom half is hard I feel like I am never going to be able to get all of the product out. You need to wiggle the wand part around in the tube to get a decent amount of product. It is an expensive product so I feel like this is a deal breaker, what is the point of paying so much when you don't get to use all of the product. I thought that that was why Urban Decay changed their packaging, I thought NARS might learn by that.
The product itself is a thin-ish white cream. Once you get it out it is easy to apply on the lid. It doesn't have a strong scent at all. I do like that it goes on clear, that means it will suit any skin tone. It has the primer-y feel, like silicone as you rub it on your skin. You have to make sure you do quite a thin layer as the times that I have put this on a wee bit thick it creases a bit itself.
I feel like this does the job of keeping eyeshadow on for a long time without creasing on me, however I don't have particularly oily eyelids so it isn't a big deal (although eyeshadows don't stay all day without primer). But because of the packaging I won't repurchase this. Plus I would like to try cheaper eyeshadow primers first.
I made sure I got TWO of these at Sephora and I've just finished the first one nine months later. I've used it sparingly. I've got oily lids so primer is a must for me.
This primer doesn't cover coloration on lids btw. It comes out of the tube on an applicator. I like to dab the applicator and then spread with my ring finger evenly.
The packaging does pick up other makeup on hands etc like all NARS products but I find some micellar water on a cotton pad cleans it up again.
As for staying power - I can go into a spin class wearing a full face of makeup and come out with my eyeshadow still perfect. It is that good. Nothing budges.
I wouldn't recommend this for dry lids. The product itself is quite drying after hours of wear.
Tips: Dirty packaging? Micellar water or eye makeup remover will fix that up nicely!
