I got a 3.7ml trial size of this as a bonus when I got my Naked Palette. I was super dooper excited to receive it and even more excited to try it. I have semi-hooded lids so when my eyes are open you cant see much of the lid (which means OILY lids siiiigh) unfortunately this didnt work for me. I feel that it actually made my lids even MORE oily and made my shadow creasing even more obvious. It was a bit of a bummer to be honest. The only good thing I can say is I LOVE the pretty purple bottle n the silver lid/wand.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion Review
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion is THE most legendary primer in the beauty industry. Eyeshadow Primer Potion is coveted by makeup artists and makeup junkies alike because it guarantees more vibrant eyeshadow that lasts for 24 hours and NEVER CREASES!
Once you experience its powers (plus how smoothly it glides on – an added bonus) you'll never want to live without it. Original formula dries down invisibly, while Eden, Sin and Greed are shades that can also be worn as shadows or highlighters!

I purchased this as a replacement for my much cheaper Morphe primer and regret doing so.it does not enhance eye shadow colours or increase its longevity. A real shame as it is expensive. I much prefer the Morphe, cheap one on all counts. I am using this, but won’t buy again, or recommend.
I had been wanting to buy the Urban decay primer potion ever since I started beauty school around 5 years ago, the hype was so big and being a student with my first baby on the way I couldn't afford it. I was lucky enough to get a sample pack of primers, Original, Eden, Sin and Anti aging when I brought the Naked 3 palette which was a lovely surprise to add when I was overseas.
Original primer potion: A small amount of product goes a long way, the texture feels like drying glue, you rub it onto your eyelids before adding your eye shadow. The first few times i took my time and the product dries up fast which makes it hard to blend into your skin. So apply it fast to prevent it from drying, once its dried its invisible, it feels like a light layer added to your skin. It really does make your eye shadow stand out more, it gives your eye shadow a crisp colour to it. Blending out eye shadow is a bit of a task, the eye shadow gets stuck onto the eye lid and it can be hard to work with, this is the problem I didn't like with the primer potion.
Sin primer potion: This primer has a shimmer to it, the first time I applied this one I used too much and it went all over my eyelid and down the sides of my cheeks, now I thought I could add foundation to the top and that just made it worse so I had to wipe off all the Primer and start again. You need the smallest amount when using this one, it has the prettiest shimmer which i had tried using as a highlight but never worked for me. Blending it out was a little easier than the original primer potion but still an effort as to not having a primer underneath.
Both primers work really well, my eye shadow didn't crease and it looked fantastic all day, removing the eye shadow requires a bit more time similar to removing waterproof mascara. I have only recently used up my Original and Sin primer potion samples and have Eden and Anti aging left to use but after using the first 2 im in no hurry to test these ones.
For me I wouldn't consider buying these, for the price Im sure I could find a cheaper alternative and I dislike how it makes it hard for me to blend out my eye shadow. This product wasn't for me and all this lusting over for many years has left me broken hearted.
Tips: Applying some primer potion to under your eye area prevents your eye makeup from running when apply eye shadow or eyeliner to your bottom lash line, just be careful not to get any in your eye!
I've been using Mac paint pot for years but had picked up a tube of this recently. Unfortunately it was as good as not priming at all for me, my eyeshadow faded and creased after only a matter of hours. Granted I do have particularly oily lids (which is why I always prime in the first place!) So if that's not an issue for you then this may be fine. For me however I'll be going back to Mac paint pot as this is super effective for me.
I read the hype and had to get my hands on this . I wear eye shadow daily to work so I need a good base. Finally I made my first Mecca order . I got the sample size just in case it’s not good. I’m glad I did .
Packaging beautiful aesthetically looking at it . But the applicator doe for it shaped weirdly not like most applicators .
Consistency is creamy ivory coloured beige . Seems quite thin compared to my other eye shadow primers .
Application seems annoying with this applicator .I seem to push the product back in to the container leaving me with a sparse amount of product to apply . I’d rather use my finger instead . Goes on thinly .
Results can hold my eye shadow for a good twelve hours wear time . Doesn’t seem to crease at all .
I was underwhelmed by this product . I would rather use my concealer I got from the beauty vault the l’oréal one . Way better at holding my eye shadow. Holds for more than 12 hours. I’d rather repurchase that than this. I wouldn’t buy it again . I know it’s a loved product but it just didn’t live up to what I’d hoped for .
Overrated , nothing mind blowing considering others on the market are often alot cheaper and being of similar quality. A cult classic I understand, but shop around if you are on a budget. Mini's are available though if you really do want to try it :)
This product was overhyped back then when it was first released! The product was okay for me. It made the colour of my eyeshadow to pop a lot more but the downside is that I did not like how it made the eyshadow powder look a bit creased when you tried blending it on top of the eye primer!
Definitely not worth your money. There are more much better eye primers out there that are much cheaper or you can use any concealer as an eye primer to save more money!
This was recommended to me by the staff at mecca and it definitely helps eye shadow stick and stay. Unfortunately it is a MISSION to remove and the one that I got is a beige colour so sometimes hard to conceal completely with light colours or less pigmented formulas.
Tips: Colour-less version would be a better choice. But only use if you are prepared to SCRUB later.
This was my first ever Urban Decay product! I bought a deluxe mini size of this from Mecca. The primer itself is awesome! It works well with any brand of eyeshadow, making it last all day without fading or creasing. I got the anti-aging version which did seem to smooth my eyelids out whilst I was wearing it. What I don't like about it is the sponge tipped applicator. It doesn't pick up enough product which is quite thick. When I put the applicator back in the tube, a small amount is pushed over the neck of the tube, leading to mess as well as waste. I would prefer just a squeezy tube for hygiene's sake as well. I've tried just squeezing the product out but the neck of the tube is large and dispenses too much. I would like to try the coloured primers in the range but I'm put off by the packaging so I probably won't purchase.
I love Urban Decay eyeshadows and use a primer when I have a long work day with an event at night. I don't notice a difference when I use the primer. I have oily eyelids, and find the product creases.
Tips: Skip it, and use foundation as a base
