Wow. I hadn't used this perfume for over 20 years. I honestly didn't even know it had survived. It certainly triggered some fond memories of dancing and nights out. I used to adore this perfume, but these days it's far to floral and sweet for me. It does linger so that's a bonus. Probably won't purchase again. My tastes have changed with age.

Tips: Buy it for your Mum.
This was given to me one Christmas when I was much younger. Someone had bought a bunch of Revlon Charlie fragrances and I unwrapped the red one. I hadn't a lot of experience with fragrance but when I smelt the musky floral scent on me it wasn't something I was crazy about. The top floral and fruit notes faded fast and then the sweet and musk notes hit in. I'm not too fond of this fragrance because I don't really like those notes on me. I did however, like the Silver one which is more citrus floral and very light. Both fragrances didn't last long on me so I wouldn't repurchase, especially since I have gotten into longer lasting, designer fragrances.
Oh my. Charlie Red. It was launched in 1993 and it reminds me of 1993. I was starting high school and this perfume was cheap enough for us to coat ourselves.
It's a nice enough smell, but I've grown up and so has my sense of smell. This is not an appealing scent to me at all.
Charlie fragrance has been around for years. There are many colours in the range, I can think of 5. They all come in a box of the colour i.e Charlie Red comes in a red box, Charlie blue comes in a blue box. Being an Eau De Toilette this fragrance is not very intense or long lasting on the body. It is an oriental but with lots of floral notes as well. As this is very affordable I would suggest it for a younger person as a first "grown up" fragrance or for someone on a limited budget. Where I work it is on sale for under $10.00.
This perfume has a strong scent, I would not recommend this to younger adults, this would be worn more by a middle aged or older woman. However, it does last on the body a long time and has a lasting scent. And its a great buy as it is really cheap! mOut of the red, blue and white charlie perfumes I would say this is the 'best' when comparing them all as it has a floral scent to it.
I got this as a gift, and really gave me a headache. Don’t like the smell at all. Packaging also looks cheap. I love Revlon make up, but not a fan of the perfume.
On me this smells like a mixture of the original Giorgio beverly hills and the carpet shampoo they use in hotels - that fresh yet chemical smell that hits you when you enter a freshly cleaned industrial building. I actually wore this on and off for years as a teenager along with the rest of the charlie line, recently repurchased for nostalgia and really wish I didn't - it is horrendous on me and perhaps I just didn't realise it all those years ago! Unfortunately this is not the scent for me!
Tips: Try before you buy!
I was working at the perfume desk for a week and had the biggest headache. I saw that everyone was buying this product, maybe because it was the cheapest. But my philosophy has always been that if you don't like it in store, you wont like it anywhere else. The store is where you like something the most. I reluctantly bought the product to see what the big rave about it was. Turns out, I had found the culprit that had been given me the intense headaches. The scent of this perfume is very overwhelming, sort of smells like a drunk person and made me want to gag a couple of times. The packaging is nice but, this is not a product I would re-purchase in the future.
I got this on my birthday from a neighbour when I was 14 years old. She used to sell all the Charlies and this was quite in at that time. For me that time it was like getting a Viva La Juicy for teenagers now. Revlon was a big brand name and when it ventured into perfumery everyone wanted a piece of it.
The packaging is very simple and nothing to hype about. Thinking back I loved that perfume and used to bathe in it. Iam so sorry for the people who used to be around me at that time.
The scent is pretty strong at the beginning, almost alcoholic. But by the end of the day it has mellowed down somewhat. But I still wouldnt buy it now as much as my 14 year old self liked it nor would I recommend it to someone. I couldnt really tell the notes apart as the smell of alcohol is too strong. For the price I would recommend trying Victorias Secret Body Sprays. I still love Revlon though and I think they make awesome makeup.
Charlie was one of my first perfumes I had tried. I made a purchase at the age of thirteen from my local pharmacy. I saved up to buy this. All my high school friends had it too. Revlon was popular back then . I had perfumes and hair care from this brand.
This box is a bright red colour. I was instantly captured by the bottle with charlie written on it. My bottle I had was 100 ml clear so you can see this golden liquid fragrance through it. This scent has warm musk with winter fruits pulling together a distinct fragrance.
I used to love layering this fragrance on my body and clothes. I loved wearing this during the day and night. Its a flexible fragrance that can be worn anytime. It lasted me up to three hours and then I needed to re apply.
It's extremely affordable in price. Would be great for any teenage girl as a starting out with perfumes. I wouldn't repurchase it because my scent taste has changed over the years.
