My first liquid eyeliner after using pencil. Packaging is small, but better to have small amounts of product and use it, rather than a long tube and not. Brush is tiny, and for a beginner like me it was easy to use right from the first time. I have the Mahogany Flame shade, (a lovely brown with a hint of shimmer) I am really pleased with it. Drying time is not long, and if mistakes are made in application, a quick swipe of a cotton bud removes any whoopsees. I also find the longevity is great, and not smudge proof. Fully recommended, I will be trying out other colors of the range too.

I am currently experimenting with eye liners and thought this would be a good one to start with. The packaging is good. A bottle with a long handle which is quite tall, means you can find it easily amonst your other stuff! I chose the black colour to start with. The brush is so super skinny which for me as a beginner was perfect. You get enough product on the brush each time so that makes it easier as well. It goes on smoothly and easily and if you want a thicker, bolder line you can add to it. I will be doing this as I get more confident but for now it is a fine line for me. It stays on all day and I did not notice any smudges. It came off easily with my usual eye make up remover.
I was actively hunting for a new black eyeliner when I bought this one. I love liquid black eyeliner, and I prefer a skinny line to a thick one. This one advertises itself as skinny, and it definitely delivers. I now own the skinny eyeliner in 3 colours: Black Out, Mahogany Flame, & Green Spark.
Tips: It is not waterproof, so will come off if your eyes water - like mine often do!
Liquid liner is one of those annoyingly beautiful things in the makeup world. You either have it or you don't... When I was trying to find a liner to help me make lines that didn't make me look like a raccoon, I tried this.
Unfortunately for me this was a fail.
I liked the packaging - it is short and sleek which is great for storage. The brush itself, however, is nowhere near as thin as I would like. For me personally, it is too thick but this is just my oreference. Because my eyes are hooded, I like a suuuuuper thin line. If you like a brush that is slightly thick then you may like this.
The pigment is really good and black and thick. However I found that when this dried on my kids it cracked throughout the day. Not pretty :( this happened every time I used it and it could just be the fact that I have oily lids (whereas the rest of my face is dry). In saying that though, other liners that I have used haven't done this.
Because of the flaking off I absolutely wouldn't purchase this again but would be interested to see if this happened on ladies with drier lids.
I was lucky enough to get this liner for free, and I love it sooo much that I would definitely purchase it again when mine runs out!
I love the packaging of the bottle, it is small and light and is typical of a liquid liner. I chose the black liner, which comes in a little black bottle. There is a version of the Revlon liquid liners which arent skinny (they have a thicker brush) so make sure you check the label properly so you get the right one!
The brush is, like it says, skinny. I read a review on here which says the brush is too skinny, but seeing as it claims the brush is 0.1 mm tip what do you expect!? I love how skinny the brush is, it makes it so much easier to wear and apply and makes it super easy to build up to the thickness you desire. I apply the liner in small light strokes which allow me to control the thickness and where I want it to go.
The formula is standard for a liquid liner - however it has smudged for me in the past when i accidentally touched my eye. Other than that though, the colour remains on your lid perfectly until you want to remove it. It comes off easily with my Neutrogena eye makeup remover and a cotton pad.
Overall I am very happy with the product. I think its one of the easiest eyeliners i have ever used and I feel so comfortable applying and wearing it on a day to day basis. Definitely recommend.
This is the second time I have purchased this liner because I was really undecided as to if I liked it when I first tried it. Here's my wee breakdown of the skinny liquid liner:
PROS: Great packaging - I love how it stands up (easy to find it amongst the mess on my table!) Super skinny line - I can make a thin line or decide to thicken it up by layering a bit Stay put factor - This hardly moves throughout the day (and I have pretty set-back eyes so often end up with smudged eye makeup) Colour - I have the black, and it is very pigmented and maintains its boldness throughout the day Easy to remove - Doesn't take much with my makeup remover to have it off :)
CON After a month or so, the tip became quite fluffy, and meant the crisp line that I initially was able to achieve was much more difficult to get - this is a BIG deal when that's pretty much the point of this liner.
I think for the price, this is a pretty good product, but I will probably do some shopping around for another liner before going back to this one :)
Whilst I am no master of liquid eyeliner I have been venturing out of my comfort zone lately and this was the perfect excuse to purchase and compare a few liquid liners. The Revlon Colorstay Skinny Liquid Liner was an impulse buy, a product that I had not researched but was newly released and a little exciting.
The packaging for this product is sleek and small. It is a little pot with a brush that unscrews from the top, rather than the common pen-like packaging. Whilst I imagine this ensures that the product doesn't dry out, it isn't the most comfortable to hold and I did struggle with where to place my fingers for a sturdy grip. There was a significant amount of product on the brush and it provides a very deep black colour. This is a major bonus as it means that you don't have to go back over the line to darken it. The formula kept its bold darkness throughout the day and didn't budge, but still remained easy to remove with my ZA Cleansing Oil and a face cloth.
Whilst the formula is perfection, the brush is not. It is just too skinny. It leaves a very, very thin line making it harder to avoid a gap between the eye lid and eyeliner, and leaving a line that is certainly not forgiving. It was difficult to get the right shape on the flick and if I am pulling out the liquid eyeliner, I want it to be perfect and somewhat noticeable. This product certainly isn't for a beginner or anyone who wants a bold line although it may be suited to those of Asian decent or someone with heavily hooded eyes. This product needs a decent meal, or a good dose of chocolate, as it is just too skinny.
Tips: Try out this product on your hand in store before purchasing to see if it is what you are wanting.
The packaging is so nice but it didn't help me much as it was super sleek and I wanted bold lines. It's okay to use this as an alternative product.
