what is it with lip products now smelling like yummy yummy sweet things? this smells like a vanilla ish cakey kinda thing and i really like it. i don't smell it on my lips for long but maaaaan its lovely.
i was a bit apprehensive about getting a lip product that was an oil. was it going to be sticky like a lip gloss used to be in the early 2000's? was it going to be pigmented, or slide off my lips like a real oil would? i didn't know. happily, i can report that i absolutely love this product.
i received the shade bounty beige from the vault. again, i was concerned because 'ew brown' but again, i was proven wrong! and i'm not sad about it. i love the length of the tube and the wand. the doe foot applicator is soft and it glides on the lips so smoothly.
the oil itself is barely pigmented to my eye when its on the lip. on my hand or in the tube i see a slight coloring but otherwise it's colorless and honestly thats fine with me. i think as an oil if it had any more color it would look weird, but this provides a nice sheen as well as being delightful to wear.
happily, the oil isn't sticky or slippery. it's just like a wetter balm and it's really nice. it's not moisturizing or anything like that, but it definitely makes you forget about your lips for a moment. i agree with the claim of it cushioning your lips while adding a hint of glow. it's just really lovely!! i'd definitely purchase this with my own money, i love it!
I picked this up in one of the Revlon giftsets for the Christmas season in the shade 'Bouncy Beige'. The packaging has since changed from the packaging purchased above; it's super cute and unique; with the lid being shaped like a dropper, and the packaging is a metallic peach that blends with silver to create a gradient like effect, so it's super pretty! The lip oil is applied with a doe-foot applicator. The product itself has a delicious vanilla caramel smell and swatches pigmented and glossy like a lip gloss or lip paint, however thankfully, this doesn't wear like a gloss or a lip paint or feel that way on the lips, so no nasty stickiness! The 'Bouncy Beige' shade looks very peachy and bold in the tube, but it applies to the lips as a very subtle hint of a peach colour with a lovely gloss to it. I like that this leaves my lips with a hint of colour and a glossy look, without the overly glossy look that a lip gloss would give, and without looking like there is a thick layer of product on the lips. This isn't tacky at all, unlike a gloss or a paint which makes this feel nice to wear and it doesn't feel like it rubs off everywhere. It also feels nice and hydrating. The wear time is short as being an oil it does tend to wipe off a bit, but that's too be expected with a glossy product, and I don't really mind that it wears off quickly as lip glosses do the same but with a lot more mess! I was pleasantly surprised by how nice this looked and felt to wear, and definitely recommend this to people who love a glossy look but don't want to deal with the sticky mess of a lip gloss. I'd happily purchase more shades to try from this range.
