I decided to try this mineral powder after my revlon colorstay aqua had run out and also since it was on special with the bonus of receiving the brush for free :) Although it does not offer a huge amount of coverage (which is fine with me as I don't really need a lot) it does not feel like you really have anything on and since having oily skin it really does help.

Tips: Give it a good blend on your skin and if you do want a bit of extra coverage use a bb cream first and then apply this as a powder on top.
I tried out this foundation and being dry skinned it was probably not a great idea. I know that using powders on my skin isn't really flattering, but with a good primer and moisturiser this product actually was pretty good. It did do what it said it did and you really couldn't feel like you had any foundation on, but it just doesn't have the same effect as cream/liquid foundations on my skin especially. It's great for hot summer days when you don't really want to wear much foundation and keep your complexion looking fresh, but I feel like powder is a better option for girls with oilier skin types.
Tips: Mix with a good primer and apply to your skin for a nice finish & always apply primer before foundation - the foundation goes on a lot smoother and you'll have a better looking complexion plus staying power :)
There is nothing worse in the summer than seeing someone who is wearing far too much makeup and even worse it is sweating off!
That’s why the Revlon Nearly Naked Mineral Powder is so fantastic. It is perfect to wear when you just want a bit of light coverage for that ‘I’m not wearing makeup look’ or as a finishing powder over your foundation to ensure it doesn’t sweat off in the hot weather.
I find I can’t get away without wearing makeup any more and like to wear something light most days. This is the perfect product to achieve that look, as follows.
As it is my problem area I started with my under eye concealer and then lightly brushed the Revlon Nearly Naked Mineral Powder (in Medium) over my face and neck. Next for a bit of lift I lined my upper lid with a white eye pencil and then applied a natural looking eye shadow over the top on the lids (my favourite is All that glitters by MAC). Next I lightly lined the inner of my lower eye with black and then added mascara.
The final touch was a bit of the Revlon Nearly Naked Mineral Powder on my cheek lines and then clear lip gloss.
Perfect!
I love this stuff and the brush you get free with it is absolutely gorgeous to use. It feels amazing when you're applying it to your skin. This powder provides a light to medium coverage depending on how much you use-I use this as a finishing powder rather than a foundation by itself because it is quite sheer and can make skin feel dry.
Tips: Use over a medium coverage foundation for a great finish
This is my first powder foundation (thanks to a competition I won) so I'm still getting used to this form of make up. It's great for when you want some coverage without feeling like you have too much make up on (especially Summer!). I have mine in Medium and does well to match my skin tone. However I have to make sure I don't go overboard and end up looking darker than I am.
Tips: Put your make up on in an area with good lighting so you don't over do it and end up looking too dark!
This powder managed to oxidise quite significantly on my skin. Although it provides decent coverage and initially achieves the 'natural flawless' look, it has an almost appalling longevity and on top of oxidising, it doesn't last past the 2 hour mark.
I purchased this as I find liquid foundations clog me up way too much. It has a nice consistency although with only 5 shades it can be difficult to get a good colour match. I have second to darkest shade and if I'm not careful I can look orange. The brush is lovely and even if I stop using this the brush is a keeper!
I would recommend this for someone with young and relatively unblemished skin. It can settle into lines and crevices.
Tips: Tip some powder into the lid and make sure your brush is evenly distributed with powder. Tap the excess off as you can get the splotchy look otherwise!
I used this powder over the Nearly Naked Liquid Foundation and found that it worked a treat! It gives nice, light and natural coverage and doesn't look caked on!
The brush that comes with it it so soft and gorgeous to use!
I actually prefer the pressed powder version of this product as I found that this one goes everywhere, even after tapping excess off the brush, I think I was just getting too much on the brush to start with!!
Tips: Make sure you don't get too much powder on the brush and tap off any excess to avoid getting it all over your clothes!
I already use a really good mineral foundation so I'm quite used to the application method and therefore also, what to expect from results so when I had a voucher I figured I'd give this a try and satisfy my curiosity (which was piqued because this doesn't contain any Bismuth Oxychloride which a lot of them tend to do).
I picked up Medium as it was during summer and skin was a little bit darker than usual. One of the great things about mineral powder foundation is that you can easily mix it with another colour to make it lighter or darker as you need so I wasn't worried I had the wrong colour.
I had a few expectations from this product and surprisingly it has met them all: 1) It needed to contain no ingredients known to cause irritation or potential breakouts. 2) It needed to provide decent coverage. 3) It needed to make skin not look oily/greasy at any time after application (a problem I have with a lot of products). 4) It needed to look natural. 5) It needed to be transfer resistant ie not come off on fingers or clothes. 6) It needed to last from the time I put it on in the morning till the time I took it off at night.
I tried this with my usual kabuki and it was ok, not great, just didn't find it gave me the coverage I was looking for but when I used this over my regular mineral powder foundation with my cheap $14 ELF kabuki from K-mart I was blown away. It gave a beautiful satin-matte finish and made my skin look almost flawless (a miracle since I have a lot of acne scarring).
The grind is so fine that the jar it comes in will last you a very long time which is fantastic as it has become a staple in my routine.
Tips: Use as a finishing layer over your regular foundation to add depth/colour/character. Grab an ELF kabuki from K-mart, this is simply the best brush to use to apply this powder. Try mixing a bit in with your moisturiser and apply if you want a bit of coverage and don't like the tap and swirl method.
I use this day in and day out (and will need to buy more in the next few weeks!) I absolutely love it, I don't wear a lot of makeup, and never wear heavy makeup, so this does it quite nicely for me though it did take some getting used to, to be able to put it on right and not end up with thick patches where I hadn't tapped the excess off the brush well enough.
I set my MAC face and body with this powder every day, and it has not failed me yet! I also wear it on it's own frequently and it sits nicely without anything underneath.
Tips: I put a small amount of powder into the lid, swirl the brush through it, and tap my brush vertically (handle down) on the sink to disperse the powder better on the brush. This always works the best for me, no thick patches on my face, and no mess on the sink or my clothes!
