Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25hr Foundation Review

Everyone seems to love this foundation but I loathed it. I thought it would hold up well on my oily skin but no, it didn't. I found this formula to be quite dry and cakey looking, it settled into lines and pores and it separated around my nose and chin very quickly. The colour match was okay but I did find it oxidised a bit throughout the day. Overall this foundation wasn't for me at all, I guess it would possibly be suited to more combination skin.

I bought this yesterday as a spur of the moment thing. I had run out of my Loreal CC Lumi Magique and wanted something that I could use for work without using up my precious Estee Lauder Double Wear light, but would give me similar coverage and longevity.

Last night, I wore this on my face when I got home. It survived cooking over a gas hob with steam, and it survived an hour of lifting weights at the gym. Not sure if it would last 25 hours, but I've got confidence in it that it would last a full work day at a minimum. I even had some on the back of my hand in the afternoon, did some dishes and it was still there. EDIT: 12 hours later, still looks good!

Coverage is build-able. I wouldn't want to go too full coverage with this as it could look cakey, but its definitely giving the coverage I want and it feels so light weight on the skin. Doesn't feel like I'm wearing foundation at all. Application is easy - I used my fingers and it just glided onto my skin. It wasn't sticky. I got the shade 102 Light Nude and it's the best skin match colour I've come across so far since moving from mineral powder to liquid foundations. Its actually an exact match. Perfect match. Even makes my EL Double Wear Light in 2.0 look a bit dark now!

On the tricky topic of flashback with foundations with SPF in them, I've had some bad experiences so I put myself through the horror of taking a cellphone selfie, with flash, to test this and powdered down with Stay Matte, I had zero flashback. Happy days!

Also, the price. It's now $22.95 from Farmers, but for a workday foundation, I'm really happy with that.

Rimmel Lasting Finish foundation is a great foundation for everyday wear, especially for those on a budget because it's so cheap.

I use it as a day-to-day foundation, and I find it effective as lasting the day, but does not last 25hours. It starts to melt off after about 8 hours. I use the shade 100 ivory. I have oily skin, so I team it with Rimmel Stay Matte powder in translucent.

The plastic bottle is simple (but I believe it now comes in a upstanding glass bottle??), but because it's an upside down style bottle the product can pour out quite quickly. I've also found that sometimes it leaks into the cap while it is closed.

It has a moderately thick consistency. I use a stippling face brush to apply it, giving me a medium to full coverage. This foundation has quite a florally scent, which I don't really appreciate, but it does not deter me from using it. It does not cause my skin to breakout, and my skin is prone to breakouts.

I would recommend this foundation to others as an everyday foundation, but I do not believe that this is a good foundation for a night out as the lasting power is not amazing, and not an entirely full coverage. I would purchase it again if I was to run out, but I wouldn't rush as I have plenty of other foundations to use in the meantime.

Finding a good foundation is very hard to find these days.I have normal to combination skin and my skin doesnt take well to liquid foundation which makes it very costly for me as most places dont have testers when your looking for foundations. Visiting my local Kmart and not being able to tell if it was the right shade because they have them all packaged was like roulette, if I pick the wrong colour I would be doomed! My fate awaits me at home.

The formula is creamy but runny, it covers very well, the coverage is around medium and its easy to build. A $2 coin is enough product to lightly cover my face, x2 that amount and its full coverage. After you apply the foundation it feels sticky which took a while to get used to until it dries, once dried it looks and feels airbrushed.

I dont notice any patchiness until around the 8th hour of wearing this foundation, you can touch up the foundation and it blends in without being noticed. Ive nearly finished my tube of foundation and I plan to buy more.

This is a great and inexpensive foundation, for $20.50 it is affordable and excellent quality, I highly recommend this foundation, its another great product from Rimmel.
