This foundation is definitely matte and does control shine. I loved the thick mousse consistency. It doesn't have a good shade range "100 Ivory" was quite dark. If you have combination skin it may not be suitable because the it emphasises dry areas. It can look quite cakey.

Tips: Using your fingers to use this product is best as it's very thick; your fingers warm up the product to make it easier to blend. Applying with your fingers first then using dampend beauty blender can help smooth it out a little more.
For the price it's ok. I find it was great at first then as it ages it declines in quality quite rapidly. Didn't take long for me to notice it just sits on my skin and is hard to blend after a few weeks. So although nice at first it definitely doesn't feel great on my skin after a while. I like my foundation to feel silky smooth and when applies like my skin can breathe.. I don't feel like this lets my skin do that sadly.
I have never stuck to the same foundation for so long. This product is amazing. i do find that i still get a bit oily through out the day, but nothing major compared to a normal foundation. i have had several comments of how flawless my skin looks. it is a very thick foundation when it comes out of the tube but i dont feel any heaviness once it is on my face. Highly recommend if you have any scars or oily skin!
Tips: Needs to be blended on the face quickly as it can dry and not blend very well
I absolutely love this product! I find it easy to apply and very easy to blend. It doesnt dry to fast and it is not sticky at all! This is my new go to foundation for a quick and easy application as the coverage is perfect for my skin type. it covers my blemishes and marks on my face that I dont like perfectly.
I think this will forever be my favourite foundation to wear when I’m going out, purely for the fact it is SO full coverage and covers all my imperfections and freckles, leaving my skin looking absolutely flawless! I have used this foundation for years and have multiple shades for when I’m natural or fake tanned and they don’t disappoint me. I’ve been asked what foundation I’m using and people are normally shocked when I say it’s a drugstore foundation!!
Tips: Use a kabuki brush- I find it makes it even more full coverage!
Im going to be blunt, I do not like this foundation. I know so many people rave about it, but i found that it just didnt suit me. I find this product is just a lawyer on my skin and doesn't blend into my skin after awhile it made my face look very dry and patchy and I could feel it on my skin. Which I do not like when it comes to foundations. I ended up giving it to my friends mother because I just couldn't find a way for it to work with my skin.
I waiver between dewy finish and matte finish for my foundations, but this matte foundation had some great reviews, and wasn't a pricey purchase so felt it was worth a go.
This foundation had a good range of shades available, and the ivory shade was perfect for my skin - not too pale or white. It is a thick foundation, and covered my complexion well, but it also has the downfall of filling wrinkles, and when its set, those wrinkles then crack and the look just isn't my thing.
I found the foundation very drying on my skin as well, and left my face feeling tight while the foundation was on. It was a relief to remove it at the end of the day. This would be a great foundation for oily skin.
Not one I'd repurchase unfortunately.
This is good for its money. However if you are wanting a true matte, that STAYS matte, this is not the one for you and I recommend keeping a setting powder in your purse as this made my fairly dry skin, quite oily and I was getting shiny throughout the day. I
Not sure why this is highly rated I tried it without a primer and it sat in my pores so up close it really didn't look very nice. The match perfection with the blue lid and pump looks nicer on my skin although not a matte. The tube is not a glass bottle it's cheap plastic which makes for lightweight carrying in the hand bag. The foundation is thick like a heavy cream. It clung to dry patches and would look flakey up close and you could see my pores. I would be interested to see how this worked with a primer or oily skin. I don't actually think it was full coverage either but would be buildable lines and aged areas are exaggerated too just the way it sits on the skin. I had a very similar experience with another brand of foundation too. I think the black packaging does not stand out to make you think the brand is Rimmel London either. Not over priced. The finish is not my liking so I wouldn't re purchase I would like to know what this is like with a silicone primer underneath or pore filler
ive had this foundation for a while, so have tried it in numerous conditions and occasions. I'm in soft beige, which i think is cool toned, and i prefer a more warm toned foundation.
i don't know, but every time i wear this foundation, i fell like it just sits on my skin, never becoming one with my skin, and one touch of my face and it wipes off like whiteboard marker on a whiteboard. then i actually get a bit greasy and shiny looking...isn't it supposed to stay matte? it's also VERY mousy which i feel can definitely give a completely FLAWLESS complexion (hiding those pimples, scars, freckles, etc)...but does show up my dry flakes and any unknown 'invisible' flakes of skin.
I've tried naked skin, moisturiser, primer, moisturiser and primer together; it just doesn't seem for me. I've tried with a brush (you can see streaks), I've tried a sponge (you can see the pores of the sponge dabbing).
thankfully it wasn't too expensive, but at least i can say I've tried a mousse foundation, and now i know, maybe I'm just not meant to use mousse. i'll keep the mousse to a dessert hehehe
