I went through a phase of buying things on special and not really looking at the colour. I think we all know why a lot of concealers and foundations make it to the the 'clearance' party; because no one wants them. Sad day. I bought this foundation in an excited flurry imagining an oil-less face that looked like a baby bum from every angle. I got it for ten bucks from the Warehouse. I got home and slapped it on, and it was SO white. And the tube said nude ivory...so obviously white but not THAT white. Ps I'm a white kid. But MATE did the mattifying gods pull through, this foundee is extreme and really fills your pores and wrinkles (so wash your face well afterwards). The product is a bit annoying as you squeeze it out of a tube, meaning you have to cut it open towards the end of it's life to scrounge around for the last drops. Or not. OG price point was cheap anyway so next time I purchase this I'll TRY get the right colour and not get carried away.

I have recently started using rimmel stay matte foundation after hearing a few good recommendations. I was a bit worried at first because where I bought it didn't have samples but was lucky enough to have selected the right colour for my skin. I like the squeezy tube which makes use easy and mess free. But I have not got to the end of my first one yet so often that is when you find out if the container is good enough to get every last drop out or not. I would say the coverage is medium, I still need a little concealer for under my eyes and on acne, but still feel like you can see my skin and it's not caked on. The foundation does last well over the course of the day, however it does not keep the shine at bay. The shine isn't terrible, but a couple of blots with a tissue throughout the day is still a good idea for me. And this is with a little powder on top of the foundation too. All in all I think this is a good product and will be purchasing again.
Tips: I found the foundation did not go on smoothly with a foundation brush and sort of sat on top of my skin. For me finger application was best.
This foundation is amazing value for money! Such good coverage, nice consistency and good staying power to boot! I find with this foundation I don't need to use much concealer on an average day, and by the end of the day my foundation is still in place! Super super happy with this purchase
this is the perfect foundation for oily skin! i have dry/normal skin and it caked up abit on me and seaped into my creases but i loved it that much a still wore it for a few days before i couldnt handle seeing my fine lines through it any longer lol. although my sister used it and she has oily skin and it looks amazing on her, some people say its a close dupe to double wear being really full coverage and long lasting if you have oily skin i would def recommend you try it
Tips: buff in using a foundation brush or beauty blender for the best results xx
I think the best way for me to review this product would be in a pros and cons list. So here we go.
Pros: Lasts all day. I wore it for about 9 hours and even after running around after my 2 year old brother on a hot day it hadn't budged. Really amazing coverage. Even though it's a mousse foundation it really didn't feel heavy on my face at all. Definitely a matte finish. I have combo skin and it didn't come up shiny or oily on my T Zone. If you like your foundations in a squeezy tube, this is great and it really lets you control how much you squeeze out of it. You don't need a lot of it. Also the colour matched my skin tone perfectly.
Cons: The tube is really small. Clogged my pores, definitely didn't minimize them at all. Clung to my dry patches really badly. Applied with my flat foundation brush it was very streaky. I tried using my fingers to warm up the product and THEN blend it in with the brush and it still didn't turn out the way I wanted it to. Could be better with a different type of applicator though, I will have to experiment some more and see. If you prefer a pump, this isn't great for you. Sort of unsanitary in my opinion.
So this is definitely a good foundation, don't get me wrong. Just for me and my skin type, it really didn't work. If you have maybe normal to oily skin it could be amazing and I would definitely recommend it, but for combo to dry skin I feel like it's not very good.
Tips: Don't apply with a flat foundation brush, makes application very streaky.
I'm suprised at how much I like this foundation considering I normally don't like mousse textured foundations. Sadly I do think this foundation can be a little heavy on the skin, so I prefer to sheer it out a little by applying with a beauty blender damped with Fix+. Although this reduces the coverage, which is medium-full, it feels much better on the skin than when I apply with a brush. I also feel like more product gets absorbed by the brush than by a sponge which is odd but the foundation is so thick that it clogs the brush bristles! However, paired with the Stay Matte powder this does keep my super oily skin pretty matte during the day. It also doesn't sink into my pores and does give a pretty flawless finish to the skin. It also blends wonderfully in with my skin and the shade Soft Beige is almost a perfect match for my neutral undertone skin.
Tips: Definitely clean your brushes after every use with this foundation as they will get gross very quickly - or just use a sponge!
I really liked this product when i first started using it. Its really good value for money, cute packaging and a good coverage formula. you don't need much to create a flawless finish. really matte, which reduces shine and leaves you looking relatively flawless all day.
The only thing i don't like about this foundation as it streaks really easy when using a brush, so you have to buff it out. It also can crease and split around the nose and forehead, but that can be easily fixed with powder.
All up, its a good foundation for beginners and for the price.
Tips: Wouldn't use a brush unless you have time to buff it out. Beauty blenders or sponges would be the way to go especially if your wanting to go for a lower coverage.
i like this foundation! coverage is amazing and lasts all day! the foundation goes on matte but a few hours later i find myself applying more powder. Also if not blended out it can give us a very cakey impression especially if this foundation is not the correct color for you. Honestly the only reason i would by this foundation again is because of how cheap it is.
Tips: blend blend blend!
This foundation is definitely matte and does control shine. I loved the thick mousse consistency. It doesn't have a good shade range "100 Ivory" was quite dark. If you have combination skin it may not be suitable because the it emphasises dry areas. It can look quite cakey.
Tips: Using your fingers to use this product is best as it's very thick; your fingers warm up the product to make it easier to blend. Applying with your fingers first then using dampend beauty blender can help smooth it out a little more.
I may have to re visit this review when I purchase the right colour but mixed in with my brightening concealer this went on really nicely. (I purchased it online and used a foundation matching tool that turned out to be completely wrong!)
Anyway! I have been swiping my light fit me concealer around my face with a dot of this on top and blending it out with a sponge, it is FULL coverage. Covered the redness around my nose and the red spot above my eye and worked well with the other cream and powder products I was using too.
The product is thick and tacky, like a very thick mousse, and although you only get 30 ml a little goes a really long way.
Tips: Start with less than you'd usually use and build from there, I used less than half the amount I pump out of my usual foundation.
