I've tried a fair few powders in my time and this one is definitely one that I keep coming back to. The Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder is perfection - it does exactly what its out to do.. Make me stay nice and matte for the day.
I find that most powders can either cake up and crack or they just do not last and end up having to have touch ups throughout the day. This powder has neither of these issues for me, I stay mostly matte (until I get home at the end of the day).
The product is easy to apply. It comes in a fabulous range in shades but I stick with the transparent.
The Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder is definitely on my buy again list. I would recommend it to anyone who is after a matte powder thats going to last (most) of the day.
In regards to affordable powders this by far is the best. I have repurchased time and time again this powder in Translucent. I simply swipe my powder brush in the pan, then apply all over my face and neck. If I need to top it up during the day then it doesn't look cakey, and keeps my skin looking fresh, clean and gorgeous. The only problem doesn't lie with the product but with the packaging, the plastic top is easy to break or come off it placed in your bag... So be wary and maybe put it into a wee makeup bag with things you don't mind getting powder all over :)
Sometimes my foundation can leave my skin looking a little shiny, and this product is my life saver. I'd heard reviews about this product so decided to give it a go, and i'm already onto my 4th one! It's the perfect translucent powder that's a pretty affordable price as well. I combine this powder with the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation for a perfect finish
Tips: I use a Real techniques brush to apply it :)
This was my go to for many years prior to trying Clinique and Elizabeth Arden. It's such a reasonable price and does what you need it to.
The only problem I had with it was that the translucent was quite pale on me. A few people thought I was sick. But add a bit of blush or bronzer and you're away.
For the price you can't fault it!
First seeing this bland power hanging on a shelf at the warehouse for $15.00.. I walked past it.
I later came back and grabbed it - why not? It's cheap.
I applied this with a brush over the top of my foundation and wow! Love it!
The light pressed powder was just the right tone to even out my hastily applied liquid foundation and made my face so smooth! Even applying to the wet foundation didn't make it cake or gather, went on so evenly!
My friend recently raved about this before we went out one night, I pulled out mine too when we were getting ready - we are both so in love with our powders.
The only down-fall is that I do have to reapply after a while as I start to get shiny. I still haven't come across a product that won't stop my face becoming shiny so I'm still on the look out!
But until then, this powder will happily do. Definitely recommend it. Cheap, effective - what more could you want in a powder!
Does exactly as it says, ive tried this with matte foundations and some that will leave you with a glowy effect and just like the products name I always end up with a matte finish. I purchased the shade transparent as i dont like to get any extra coverage from powders and being very pale the other shades looked a little to dark for me. I never have to touch up my foundation or powder throughout the day which i find really handy. If your after a cheap great quality powder then i would defineatly recommend this and am glad i have finally found a powder i will stick with
Tips: I use a big kabuki brush to apply
This is a great everyday powder for a basic, low coverage makeup look. I love this product and it does exactly what it says! I have repurchased this twice and its great as its super affordable! xx
This powder is really good at keeping my oily face matte! I use it everyday for work, in the transparent shade. It is good as it doesn't change the colour of my foundation and it helps to keep my foundation on my face a lot longer than some other powders I have tried that are around the same price point. I do have to touch up my powder at lunch time though, but the price makes up for that!
Tips: Be careful to put a light layer over the face, and buff the excess off, or it can look cakey.
I had tried this product before my current pressed powder that im using at the moment and it is one of the products that I had reached the bottom of, I was really impressed! I personally think overall Rimmel is a great range but this, as well as other products (ie the single blushers) that Ive tried are one of the best!
The look that is gives the skin is one but natural, which Im sure is what we all want! I wouldnt rely on it giving you any more coverage than what your foundation has provided, especially the translucent shade as this is purely used to set the foundation. It is a great affordable setting powder that is easy to use and does set your foundation and help control shine throughout the day.
With it being a pressed powder too I find that it applies better on the skin and it doesnt go every where when you are wanting to use it. Just be careful when you hit pan as like all pressed products this can make it crack a lot easier when you are carrying it with you, but just put a cotton pad in it and this should lessen the risk of this happen. The lid I found was deseaving as well, thought it was almost too easy to remove but aslong as its put on properly (ensure the two dimples are resting underneath the ridges) then you should be fine, just put it in a little bag if you are worried about spillage :)
This is a product that Im more than happy to recommend to nearly all my friends as most of them are wanting a powder thats going to give them a nice natural finish, set their foundation and is very affordable!
I will repurchase this one again for myself eventually and may try it as an undereye setting powder for a cheap alternative and see how that goes.
Tips: I have given a couple of tips in the review section but with applying the powder itself just be sure you use pattting/ dabbing motions with your brush before you go ahead and use swiping/ buffing motions. This patting/ dabbing motion just ensures that you are not going to move the foundation that you have just applied, its going to keep that foundation in its place. Still do swipping/ buffing afterwards however just so this gives you a nice natural finish. The patting motions can also help with oliy areas of the face too :)
