Rimmel London Wonder'Luxe Volume Mascara

The Rimmel Wonder'Luxe Volume Mascara was sent to me as part of a trial team. This mascara has a unique formula that combines 4 nutritious oils to improve the softness and strength of the eyelashes and stimulates healthier growth.

I was immediately drawn to this mascara because of its pretty packaging. It comes in a beautiful 11ml asymmetric metallic blush pink tube. The product itself, however, turned out to be slightly disappointing.

I've tried countless mascaras in the past for my short, stubby eyelashes and unfortunately, this product does not make the cut. I did not see a difference after curling my lashes and it also got clumpy with a second coat.

While I liked the consistency of this mascara, it didn’t work for me. Yes, it is true that this product doesn't smudge but It really didn't do anything special for me in terms of length or noticeable volume, so if you’re looking for that, this isn’t for you.

I love a good mascara, especially one that promises extra volume, so I was looking forward to trying this one out. The addition of Argan, Maracuja, Marula & Camellia oils to help condition lashes also really appealed.

First impression is that the packaging is great. The colour and design of the tube really appeals, and the wand fits comfortably in the hand. The colour of the mascara itself is also very good – a nice deep black.

The brush is slightly curved with silicone bristles - shorter on one side, and longer on the rest of the brush. The brush picks up a lot of mascara from the tube, but as the formulation is quite thick, you can end up with a lot of excess – I found I had to wipe the excess off before applying otherwise it took a long time to dry. I found it difficult to master the application with this brush – my lashes tended to clump together rather than being nicely defined. I decided to give the mascara benefit of the doubt and trial it for a week to see if I could get a better result with practice (and looking online for tips!), but even then, it was very hit-and-miss. On the days I did get a decent application, my lashes felt very stiff and plasticky once the mascara dried. Once dry, the mascara took a lot of effort to remove completely.

Overall, this isn’t a product I would recommend, and it is mostly due to the brush. It is disappointing as I am a fan of other Rimmel products and have used other Rimmel mascaras in the past with no issue. I have seen suggestions from other users to try applying the mascara using a different brush – I think I will try this tip before throwing the mascara out.

I personally didn't see any help for "full volume eyelashes" after applying this mascara. It was one of my "not-worth-it" mascara as it didn't deliver the volume as promised. Whilst it didn't smudge crazy like maybelline colossal did with my eyes, but it still did smudge a bit without any setting powders underneath of my eyes. It also seemed like it was taking a while to "set" because if I blinked a bit quickly then I would get the mascara on my top lid as well! I most definitely won't be recommending this to anyone because there are other mascaras that actually works..

I was lucky to be part of the trial team for this mascara. Very timely too because I am currently on the hunt for a new HG mascara. I was generally okay with the Wonder'Luxe Volume Mascara, but can't say it's what I'm looking for at the moment. The consistency is nice and smooth, easy to apply, and won't clump your lashes so it's perfect for a natural lash look. My problem is that I have stubborn asian lashes that fall down easily with mascara. I used this for a week and I find that Wonder'Luxe is good after the immediate application. By noon, the curl would still be there but significantly lowered compared to initial application. Also because I have sparse lashes, I'm looking for mascara with a thicker volume than what this product offers. I'd recommend it to my friends with naturally curled lashes who just want a bit more kick in volume but still look natural.

I was really excited to try this mascara but was a little disappointed. The end of the brush clumped and I found I had to apply lots to get some sort t to see any lash volume and length and then it looked a bit clumped on. After a few hours it had streaked under my eyes and also flaked and I looked like panda bear!!.

Got this one from the beauty vault . I’m a high user of mascara . I like to make my false lashes pop . One thing coat does the job .

I never really choose rimmel for mascara . I always go back to Too Faced Better than sex ,Elizabeth Arden or Eye of Horus. I haven’t met a mascara yet that can beat these three.

Comes in chrome pink packaging easy on the eye . Consistency was horrible . Clumpy mess . Maybe it was dated not sure but not good. Used it multiple times tried mixing oil no change.

I wouldn’t go for it again or recommend it. I am thankful that I got to try it out.

Sorry to be brutal but this was a miss. It's clumpy, and doesn't separate the lashes. I ended up washing it off each time. Pretty packaging, but that's it I'm afraid.

I purchased this because it was one of the few mascaras I could find in brown that weren't overly expensive. I like the volume it gives but it puts a lot of mascara on my lashes and I usually use another wand from an empty mascara to get some of it off and even it out. I find it doesn't last all day and sometimes drops. Not bad for the price but won't be buying again.

I am very picky about mascara and was stoked to be on this trial team! I have quite straight lashes so I find it hard to get good volume from mascara and I have tried many mascaras, but have never tried one from Rimmel. Firstly the packaging- its a shiny metallic pink colour, personally not my favourite kind of colour but I didn’t mind it! The tube had a cool shape- it’s angled and has different faces (if that makes sense) which made it really easy to open/close and also to control the wand as it fit well in my hand. The wand itself I quite liked- it has a nice curved shape and is silicon, with wee spikes rather than bristles. I found that the right amount of mascara was distributed onto the wand- it didn’t come out with clumps on the wand and there wasn’t too much product, which I find sometimes. It was easy to apply to my lashes and went on quite smoothly. It did kind of clump my lashes together a weeeee bit too much for my liking but it wasn’t too bad. I used two coats of this mascara (as I usually do with all my mascara), as I prefer a bit of a bolder lash and the second coat definitely made it darker and a bit thicker which I liked. The actual look of the mascara- it did give some volume, although not as much as I was expecting which was a bit disappointing. It also lengthened my lashes a bit. The mascara lasted relatively well throughout the day, it was a little smudgy under my eyes but held up pretty well! Overall, I thought this mascara was just okay- it was easy to use and had good longevity, however I didn’t really find that this mascara added a lot of volume of length to my lashes. Based on this, I personally wouldn’t repurchase, however Rimmel mascaras are usually well priced.

I got this from the beauty vault (thank you beauty review!) When I opened it I was let down by the brush. The bristles are so small and I knew this was not going to help cover the lashes and it didnt. It's a okay mascara but it definitely doesn't deliver on the volume it promises. It smells like standard mascara. The one thing I do like is that when I close the cap it clicks which is satisfying. Overall its okay for day to day makeup. Not my favorite.
