Schick Hydro Silk Razor Review

I received this as a freebie to try out and I'm glad I did. I've been using the same razor for about a year because I'm too lazy to buy a blade refill pack.

This razor gave a really close shave and left my legs soft and smooth. I really like the soap strips it has as it eliminates the hassle of using a shaving cream, gel or body wash when shaving. However the soap strips did disintegrate quite quickly when the razor was left in the shower for a week. This made them gluey and the razor rather more difficult to use.

The handle was easy to grip and maneuver, and I really liked using this razor. I will probably repurchase, and will recommend this razor. The blades are well-designed and it gives a great shave.

I like it a lot and it makes my legs feel so smooth. My legs feel so nice and lovely and refreshed after i use it! i love this product a lot!!

First day I used it i loved it... Second day not so much. Maybe it was just me but I left it in the holder that it comes with in the shower and when I went to use it again it was so disgusting and slimy from the "Shea butter or the serum that it was stringing and horrible. However once i removed that the actual razor works well but kind of defeats the purpose of the serum.

Ok so my sister was using this blade for the longest time, and I always noticed how prickly and harsh her regrowth was, especially in her arm pits. I also noticed that the hair line (if that is what you call it) in her armpit area was extending above and below the normal pit area. Meaning that there were hairs that went a little too far out of their armpit zone if that makes sense. I thought that might just have been her, and she used it religiously, so I thought I would buy one too.

I love that it doesn't cut. At all. With a regular razor, I would cut my self every single time I went in for a shave. Not with this one. The funny thing is, you can't actually feel this one either. With a regular blade, I could always feel it scraping against my skin, even with a thick layer of soap on before. The first time I used this, I had to stop and check to see whether it was actually shaving. It was. I also love that you don't technically need any soap with it, the bar around it is very smooth and silky and works better than any shaving cream.

I like that the head is movable, and moves with the curves of the body, which means it gets a real close shave, and I don't have to angle my hand awkwardly.

I find it difficult to clean however. The hairs are really tricky to get out, and the soapy layer around the blades goes slimy and to try to get the hairs out of it, I create little dents and scrapes in the substances.

Now, I have noticed that the hair line on my underarm is slowly starting to extend up and below the actual pit, which is something that I'm not happy with. I'm not entirely sure if this is a coincidence, or what, but I notice it.

My regrowth, especially underarm, is much rougher, and I'm finding that I need to shave more than when using a normal blade.. ehhh not happy.

I brought this when it first came out and thought it sounded really good, I always use shaving cream for my legs and underarms so gliding the shaver over my skin felt ok, and the handle was easy to handle it didn't slip through my hands like other razors do. I like how it had a clean cut and there was no mess left behind. the price was pretty good too I still have one in my bath room cabnet but these days I shave with the Schick Hydro 5 as it is was better for my hairs and skin I will do review on that soon.

a decent razor, however i find causes slight irritations and the hydro part disappears really quickly and is sticky and goopy not a fan i find it works much better once it has disappeared, the heads are also really expensive to repurchase

I won one of these off Schick's Facebook page ages ago. I like the design of the razor, nice handle and colour. However, in regards to the serum - didn't really live up to my expectations. I found that the serum only lasted for a few shaves and it seemed to go gooey or come off in chunks (really weird).

However, when the serum was working well it gave a nice shave; no cuts or dryness. I still moisturised after as I felt the serum was only good when shaving - it didn't really do anything to moisturise. Overall, not bad but it didn't fully live up to my expectations.

I have found using this razor reasonably good and it had done the majority of what it has stated to do. The travel case has been really beneficial with it actually working unlike some other brands which means you wouldn't need multiple razors. The only downfall is the moisturizing serum runs out very quickly

This razor is easy and comfortable to use. It gives a close shave without irritation. I do like the hydrating bars which are meant to give moisture back to the skin. Still need to lather up before use though of course. Do wish it came with a holder like other shavers do to attach to the shower wall, but that's not a biggy.
