Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation Review

I purchased this for my recent wedding after recommendations from friends and after reading reviews on here.

The foundation comes in a glass rectangular bottle which unfortunately does not have a pump. I have been told that you can pay extra for a pump but due to the large cost already I decided not to go with it.

My skin is combination with a mix of oily and dry patches. I used a sponge to apply this and found it was a nice Matt finish. I applied a layer to my skin with the sponge and found that one layer was enough and that I didn’t have to build it up at all. The make up lasted all throughout the day and did not rub off onto my dress or fade away during the day. I did not have to top up my foundation during the day and found that my skin was nice and flawless in the photos. My skin was not shiny or uneven.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a long lasting and full coverage from there foundation.

I've recently started using this foundation again after a hiatus of a few years and I'm really glad I did!

I have dry skin, so I generally prefer a more hydrating foundation with a dewy-er finish, however my workplace is HOT and I needed something that would survive the heat this summer, so I went back to Doublewear. For a more natural look, but still with great coverage I find 1 layer enough, but is easy to build up for full coverage.

This foundation is very matte, and it lasts forever! I just finished a 9 hour shift and it still looks great, doesn't crack around my nose like most foundations do.

Packaging is a nice glass bottle, however it does not come with a pump (can purchase separately for $15) which is kinda annoying since the price has gone up to $72 as well.

I came to try this product after researching full coverage long wear foundations and this product came up again and again. I was so excited to try it and it did not disappoint. It's great coverage but still looks beautiful and natural. It doesn't look flat or cakey and it doesn't settle into my pores! I have oiky/combo skin prone to cystic acne and enlarged pores, this provided great coverage and stayed a natural velvet finish most of the day (without setting powder or spray). Lasts amazingly when paired with setting powder and spray. So far this is the best foundation I've found for my skin that lasts and provides great coverage without being too heavy.

I have been using this for the last 4 years, that's how much love and trust I have for this foundation and I haven't used any other foundation since. I have combination skin which sometimes gets a bit oily on the T zone, but this foundation never wipes off!!! That's how much staying power it has and doesn't make my skin oily. Just like the brand states that it has 15 hours staying power and is flawless, and trust me its does what it says. It was always difficult for me to find the perfect shade for my yellow brown Indian tone skin, and the shade 3W1 is the exact shade, and doesn't oxidize. I have been complimented so many times about how fresh I look even after 12 hours of applying the foundation. So I will definitely say to you ladies out theres is to go for it and become a new devotee of this foundation.

This foundation has always look flawless on, high coverage which lasts all day or night. Doesn't even feel that heavy for such a good coverage! Never had any issues with flashback in photos either :)

I have super duper oily skin. I also have acne scars thanks to PCOS, so I'm in need of good coverage. Non of the drugstore foundations last on my skin with both primer and setting spray on and they don't offer good coverage either. Plus almost all of them have neutral or pink undertones. Since I have an olive complexion, I need foundations with yellow undertones or have to do some heavy colour correction all over the face. This product does it all! My colour is cashew in this product and it is a perfect match for my skin tone. You can wear it light with a damp sponge or with a heavy hand give yourself full coverage. I even skip concealer if I go for a heavy coverage with this product. It goes smooth onto the skin and doesn't budge for hours. Since I'm super oily I powder my skin with a stippling brush and use a setting spray to make it last even longer. Oh and by the way, as much as I love its lasting power, it is difficult to remove for the same reason. So I use 'Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water in Oil' which is for waterproof makeup removal to get rid of this foundation followed with a non harsh activated charcoal based cleanser.

Only con I can mention is that it is expensive.
