My favourite nail polishes

Easy to apply with 2 coats and dries reasonably fast. Comes in loads of different colours. They need to be stored in a cool place so that they don't dry. Their one fault I must say is when they get to roughly half full - a third full they do seem to start dying out and need to be chucked out.

Tips: Put them in the fridge they seem to last longer

Favourite!

I have quite a few OPI's in my nail collection and they are always the first I grab. They are super easy to apply streakfree, the colours are amazing and unique! (not to mention they have way too many to choose from!) They are fast drying and super glossy!!!

They are quite durable and will last a 3-5 days without chipping! Some of the lighter shades you can use as a sheer with one coat or even build them up with two and feel as if you have two different colours!

They also seem to last for ages if properly looked after, but longer than any of my other polishes which often go gloopy and thick after a while.

It is also easy to remove, if you have a glitter or 'shatter' nail polish just hold the remover on it for a while then swipe and it should come off easily unlike some nail polish where you feel as if you are attacking your nail to remove the glitter pieces.

Tips: Always use a top and base coat

Will never use anything else.

They brush on so smooth and dry evenly to a completely flawless finish. Makes even my amateur nail painting skills look good. So easy to use, endless colour selection, and they last so well without chipping. 100% recommend.

Why haven't I used them before ...

I have been sorely tempted by the colours on a number of occasions but have stuck to Essie or Revlon and not tried OPI previously. My daughter was with me on one occasion and tempted me to try by saying I would not regret it. Boy, was she right. They have a wide range of colours at Farmers, and although the price is at the higher end of the market, the product is too. I found the brush to be just the right length and thickness for an easy application and the consistency of the varnish to be perfect. You can actually get away with one application in the lighter shades (have not tried the darker shades yet). With a top coat, the colour does not chip at all (even after one week) and only the tips of the nails have worn away ever so slightly so that you could in fact continue wearing it for a couple of days more if you wanted to. What has impressed me the most is the fact that the varnish has not 'thickened' over a few months. I cannot remember how many nail varnishes I have thrown away before they are half empty because they have thickened and become difficult to apply. OPI is sheer luxury and worth every cent. I am sure you would want to experiment with other colours before the bottle ran dry because I know I do.

Tips: In summer they recommend keeping nail varnish in the fridge to prolong the life.

My Favourite Nail Polish

My nail care box only contains OPI Nail Lacquer . I love the colours (and their names) and can find a colour to match anything I am wearing. It is easily applied, dries very quickly and is long lasting compared to any other nail lacquers I have used.

Tips: Try My Favourite Ornament OPI nail polish to add a special little sparkle to your nails. Love it!

My first Nail Polish Love

OPI was my first nail polish love (Essie has since slipped into my life as my number one now). At the moment I have 17 full size shades and 16 mini bottles. Argh I hate counting these up as I keep thinking if I had all that money back imagine what I could buy with it (lets face it, more beauty products). In my defence I didn't pay the full retail for these bottles, I would often pick them up on special, 2 for 1 deals, or receive for presents.

I love the bottles of these, something about the rounded bottle with the tall black lid looks so classic to me and makes me keep them even though some probably need to go in the bin by now. I love the long lid on these as it makes it easy to hold as you are doing your nails or toenails. The brush itself is pretty standard though just a rounded finish. I keep my nail polishes standing up so I like that I can see what colour they are around the sides of the lid.

Most of the time I purchase these from Farmers to be able to get the points. I also like that Farmers have the latest ranges of colours. I must say that buying the smaller bottles is a great deal if you like all of the shades. I have never finished a bottle of nail polish (maybe because I have so many) so I find that getting the smaller ones is a great way to grow the amount of shades you have.

The wear time of these differs from shade to shade with these, but I find most of the time I can get one to last 4 to 5 days before I get bored or the tips start to wear. I also find the 'nail polish' scent of these is extra strong, so don't paint your nails in your bedroom just before going to sleep!

THE LOVES; 'It's MY Year' a beautiful duochrome deep purple with gold reflects in it. 'Suzi Takes the Wheel' a very neutral grey that I love wearing to work for a classy polished look. 'Black Onyx' a classic glossy black that is opaque in two coats and stays on for ages. 'Warm & Fozzie' a beautiful brown and gold glittery sort of shade, different from anything else I own and looks great with everything.

THE KINDA LIKES (but wouldn't recommend); 'Kyoto Pearl' a white pearly shade that I have no idea why I picked up. Because of the pearl finish it takes ages to look perfect, and takes a lot of coats to look opaque, too much effort for me. 'Nothin' Mousie 'Bout It' I had to have this as soon as I saw it! It is pink glitter with pink hearts in it. Looks gorgeous in the bottle but as soon as you try and put it on none of the hearts come out and if they do you just get a clump of them. Not worth the effort or price just buy your own glitter and add them on top of your nails to any colour nail polish on your nails when wet if you want the glitter hearts.

Worth the money!

These are my favourite nail polishes ever! They come in so many different colours, and provide this amazing glossy finish that I can't seem to get with any other polishes! Super quick and easy to use, and the brush is great for covering the entire nail in almost one swipe!

It comes off with nail polish remover pretty quickly, and dries within 3-4 minutes. It's very long lasting and hardy, usually staying on for as long as a few months! The polish is slightly pricy, but well worth the money because you are getting top quality product.

Tips: -Use good quality cotton pads when removing. -Use a base and top coat for extra shine and to make it longer lasting.

amazing nails done by you!

ow. These nail polishes are so amazing! They have a flawless finish and are super easy to use. The colour that comes onto you nails is exactly what you see in the bottle. The brush is amazing and glides the nail polish on evenly. Comes off easily with nail polish remover which is good cause you don't have to use thousands of cotton balls. Otherwise it stays on for a decent amount of time. Definatly worth the price.

Tips: Buy one!

Expected more but still a great polish

After wanting to try Opi nail polish for ages i finally got one, just 1 to begin with to trial and decide whether they are worth the money or not. I got the color 'Don't pretzel my buttons' which is the most perfect nude shade i've ever seen, really happy with it! Every other nude/ neutral/ natural color nail polish I have is either too pinky or too peachy this one is a pale creamy beige, very clean and sophistced looking color a lot like the color of baylies liqueur.

Considering the general full RRP of Opi nail polish i was expecting the brush to be different to other polishes, for it to be a bit special i guess but it's fairly standard. The brush is slightly flat and does a good enough job of getting into the edges tidily. The formula is what I consider to be ideal for a nail polish, glides on with ease and the finish is neat & solid with 2 coats. I expected this polish to be more chip resistant considering all of the hype over this brand, but it's chipping within a couple of days like any other average polish. (Without top coat that is, get an extra day or so out of it with top coat.)

I will definately buy Opi nail polish again if i happen to see a colour i really like and its no more than $10 but the $25 RRP, no way. While i do think this is great quality polish i have many much more affordable brands of nail poish in my collection that are equaly or nearly as good as Opi.

Wouldn't use anything else

I've always used OPI Nail Lacquer when going to get my nails done at a salon and decided to buy some to do at home. I seriously won't be buying anything else but OPI for a home job. I really like how it glides on the nails and once dried (and after 2 coats) it looks like I got them done professionally. OPI is the best!

Tips: Use a really good base coat polish first, do 2 coats of OPI then use a really good top coat polish. Voila! done!
