This foundation I don't use as a everyday foundation as I prefer something that is light for an everyday foundation. I love this foundation for when I go out and want to wear something with a little more coverage. I have a naturally red skin tone so I love the coverage this foundation provides and feel like I don't have to use much concealer. It looks great in photos and gives me a lot of confidence.

I got this foundation in Sand Beige (Perfect match for me!) as an early birthday present from my sister. I'd been on the search for the perfect foundation that didn't cost an arm and a leg and I'd watched a number of you-tubers who highly recommended Revlon Colorstay as a drugstore alternative to the pricer brands like MAC. Unlike a number of the reviews I've read in relation to this foundation, my colorstay came with a pump which means I don't have to worry about spilling it everywhere. A lot of people also mentioned their dislike of the glass packaging, howver, I feel the packaging itself is pretty sturdy and unless you're throwing it across the room or dropping it on the concrete it should hold out just fine.
The foundation claims to last 24 hours, unfortunately I have yet to test this out as I generally only wear foundation for around 12 hours. In saying that, the foundation definitely holds firm for the majority of the day, especially if you use a setting powder. I did use this foundation in conjunction with my Garnier Blur, however, I found that the two didn't really go together and I actually prefer the overall look of the foundation when I don't wear a primer or blur cream. I also love the fact that the foundation is build-able and can therefore be used for a medium or heavy coverage.
I will definitely be repurchasing this product once I run out and I have a feeling it is going to be my go-to foundation for many years to come.
I've always wanted to try this foundation as I've heard so many amazing reviews on it. My favorite foundation is Estee Lauder Double Wear and this is said to be a good dupe.
So I got this thinking it may be a cheaper alternative to my normal foundation. Firstly I decided to check findation.com to get my color match then bought it off Trade Me as its half the price.
The foundation itself is really great. It has good coverage (not as good as double wear but buildable) and is a nice matte finish. It applies very well and is easy to blend. It honestly looks so gorgeous on the skin and settles beautifully. It also lasts pretty much an entire day. I was quiet impressed.
Unfortunately the color is totally off! I thought i would just go in and get matched properly and it should solve all my problems. I asked a lady at Priceline (australian pharmacy) to match me. She was the so called beauty expert professional in the store. After trying a couple out on my skin she pretty much said "well I have one that is going to be too pink for you or one that is going to be too dark for you. Which would you prefer?" I was so disappointed! There was no way i was going to spend more money on this if it wasnt a perfect match.
Overall i think it is a good product but didn't work for me. Every shade option pretty much had a pink under-tone even when it was supposed to be yellow. Unfortunately I experience this with most drugstore foundations. I really wish this did work for me though :(
I received my revlon colour stay in the mail as it was a online purchase,I first did not like at the bottle was glass instead of plastic as I can be clumsy and would hate to drop it to little glass pieces and there was no pump on the bbottle,to apply the foundation I tipped the bottle up and placed some on the back of my hand,I put little spots of it over my face and started blending it into my skin,it was a great coverage, went on like silk and as I did my second layer the coverage was so good I really did not need a second layer, after setting with powder,I never had to touch it up until I took it off 10 hours later,I love it and it's not my favourite product from revlon,
Tips: Do not tip the bottle up to much to get the product outcome times it comes out fast
This is the best foundation I have ever used. I use it most days and it gives me great coverage for everyday use. I also use it when I'm going out and I can build it up for more coverage. I keep buying this foundation now. The pump bottle is so convenient too. With this product I find that a little bit goes a long way too.
For a start, the glass bottle is really inconvenient. You have to pour the foundation onto your hands, which is really time-consuming and usually ends up with wasting product. This didn't make my skin break-out, and most foundations do, so that was an up-side for me. The colour was a good match and the colour really did stay, so much so that it is difficult to get off. But that's where the pro's for me ended. I couldn't blend this stuff into my skin with my fingers or a brush, it always ended up looking caked on, no matter how hard I tried. I had to resort to using sponges which made it slightly better, but it still looked cakey. The colour also oxidised throughout the day to have a slight orange look. I would not repurchase this, as it didn't really suit me, but other people seem to love it, so it might just be my oily skin. IMO there are other Revlon foundations that are much better than this.
Tips: Apply using make-up sponges for a more even and less cakey texture.
I will be honest and say I'm not keen on foundation. I have very oily acne prone skin and have terrible luck blocking my pores when I wear makeup so I tend to avoid it unless I'm going somewhere special. I'm not one to wear it all day every day and will happily go without it to work. However if I wasn't so lazy in the morning I would definitely wear this to work. This is my best foundation so far and will not be changing any time soon. I love how easy it goes on my face and how well it sits on my skin throughout the day. I do have to make sure I cover all areas as it tends to set hard, but not noticeable to someone looking at you unless you look very closely. I find it doesn't cause my skin to break out and comes off easy enough. The only time I find it wears off is when I touch my face a bit, either resting palms on cheeks or rubbing face. I find this is cheap enough, I get the 30ml bottle which I think is all it comes in, and I buy it from Farmers so I get the Beauty Points. The bottle is easy to use with a push down pump lid, although you may find you can't get it all out at the end unless you unscrew the bottle. Bottle is glass with a plastic cap over pump. I also like that it has SPF 15 in it to. I find it lasts me 6 months plus but I'm not a heavy user, so may not last as long. I follow this foundation with the Revlon Colourstay Powder to finish it and set it. I'm not sure if it lasts 24hrs as I have never worn it for that long before, but I can get quite a few hours out of it.
Tips: Make sure you take it off at night. I use baby wipes first and then my make up removing wipes afterwards to remove any excess and then if time I like to wash it off in the shower with face wash. All of this is to help prevent my breakouts. If your skin isn't as oily you may not need all the steps.
I tend to pat mine onto my face with a sponge and I find that it last better when I do this and spreads better. I just get cheap ones from Asian shops and replace them every few months when they start changing colour.
Ok so in the past I have been a bit of a revelon fan. This foundation is long lasting as it says. Gives good coverage and does feel comfortable. However I have found other foundations which do just as good if not better jobs for a lot less price, so I would recommend if you needed something for going out or special occasions, as it is pretty expensive but I would recommend if you come across it on sale to buy it as a spare :-)
Tips: Use revelon photo finish concealer and photo finish powder for better results
I use to always buy this but found it's so overpriced and I found it needed to be set with powder to make sure it stayed, it's a pretty decent formula but for me I feel I can get such a nicer foundation for the cost. Also not a fan of not having a pump very hard to the needed amount
I find I keep returning to Revolon Colourstay Foundation no matter what other foundations I try. The fact the range has two options, depending on your skin type is an added bonus. I use the Oily/combination type and I rarely get an Oily T zone with this long lasting foudation that provides great coverage. The only thing I would change about this product is having it produced in a bottle with a pump so that a measured amount was dispensed.
