After using powder from both Revlon and MAC, I have happily settled on the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder. It performs equally as well as the Revlon and MAC powders, at a fraction of the price. The Stay Matte Pressed Powder is perfect as a setting powder over liquid foundation or a BB cream as it provides a matte, smudge resistant layer with buildable coverage. The combination of liquid foundation and Stay Matte powder provides long lasting coverage. On long days at work I will take blotting sheets and powder to work and top up once in the day, however this isn't particularly necessary. The Rimmel Stay Matte Powder can be purchased for $5-$10 on Asos, with free delivery which makes it a very affordable option in comparison to other powders which provide the same results.

Tips: Purchase from Asos for $5-$10.
I have been unfortunately blessed with oily skin and have been looking for a product for awhile which would combat my oily t-zone whilst not having to reapply it through the day. Rimmel matte powder really does what it says it does, it adsorbs oil throughout the day keeping you looking fresh, and it is absolutely fantastic for the price. Although I do have a nit picks about it, i find it can come out looking quite powdery/cakey on the face. Also the colours are quite difficult to match correctly, seeing this I went for the transparent shade and it can make me end up looking super white and ghost-y
Tips: start light and build up, also if you are wearing it for a night where photos will be taken, take some selfies before leaving the house to check it's not showing up super white
Love this stuff. It does the job perfectly! Sets your foundation, keeps you matte, makes your makeup last longer. And a bargain!
Tips: Look out for sales on ASOS and you can pick this up for around $5 NZD
This was one of the best powders I have used in a long time. It is very easy to apply using the right brush, and goes on nice and smoothly, it is not cakey at all. It also lasted all day, unlike some other powders I have used. Definitely would recommend.
This was the first powder I used and at the time I quite liked it, however now that I've tried other products I find this to be not as great as others. It applies well and it IS mattifying and does it's job, however I have oily skin and it isn't oil free so I find it makes my skin even oilier or it just basically slides off! It isn't terrible but it doesn't last all day for me and that's the main reason why I use powder - to make my foundation last all day! So not a winner for me! Also the packaging is a bit cheap and it breaks really easy which is quite annoying
This is hands down the best pressed powder that really works for me. It stays long and keeps my face matte all day. And it smells like roses a bit. It just works for me. I've used it for two years now. And I have never look for any other powder now.
I bought this after seeing this used on Youtube - So glad I did! I have combination skin and my t-zone gets quite oily during the day, so when I use this on top of my foundation my makeup isn't an oily mess after a few hours like usual! Best of all, it's affordable and available in NZ!
I've only recently discovered this powder, its great for my skin, which is very oily, and it keeps it matte most of the day. Its a great price, and I use the translucent colour which suits me perfectly.
Tips: Don/t use too much as it tends to be cakey, and stock up when you see it , as it's always sold out when I go past the Rimmel stands!
I have dry skin, but in summer I sometimes get a bit oily on my face. I gave this a try after seeing friends rave about it, and it's worth it. I applied it with an ecotools kabuki brush, and pressed it in to really set my foundation and concealer. My face looked perfect at the end of a long hot day! I like this in translucent, because it didn't change the colour of my blush or contouring.
Tips: Apply with a nice dense kabuki brush, not a little powder sponge, for the best finish.
This powder is great in not only translucent but also in the coloured powders. When I'm wanting a basic everyday makeup look I use this on top of BB cream. Gives a really great look and doesn't look too cakey on my skin. It really helps my oily skin look matte and controls my shine. However It doesn't last my entire day. Definitely not something I would use though if i'm looking to have a really flawless makeup look when going out.
Tips: Good for everyday, would recommend a more full coverage higher quality powder for flawless looks.
