I’m a Shiseido fan from way back (those beauty cakes xxx), so was pretty excited to be chosen for this trial. The product comes in a nice glass bottle with a pump for application that you can turn off or on by twisting the lid. The consistency is quite liquidy and the instructions say be liberal with application, so I did. I tried two types of application methods. 1. my fingers; products went on relatively smoothly, needed a bit of blending but acceptable. 2. facial brush; My preferred application method, the product went on really nice and blending was easy. The blurb said it would be full coverage, yes it is and it stayed on nicely throughout the day, however, I did use primer on some days and it definitely lasted longer. I also tried some setting powder but found it didn't really need it. My skin looked fresh (uplifted maybe?) and it felt very light which I liked. This product is a definite fav, and although the price tag at $79 might sound high, I think it's a superior high-end product and worth splashing out the dollars to get something of this quality. I really enjoyed using it and would definitely purchase it in the future.

Tips: I think you could apply a little less and still get the same result. Also, keep an eye out for Farmers beauty sales, often they will have a discount or gift with purchase.
I liked this foundation. I work as a cook in a kitchen so my face is exposed to heat, sweat and humidity all the time. Also I am having hot flushes so it has to contend with this as well. Despite all these challenges, it lasted all day which is a must for me. I found it provided good coverage and was easy to apply. My skin looked smoother afterwards and my other makeup applied nicely on top. The only reason I didn't give it a five, was when I went to clean my makeup brush it was a real mission. Usually I use soap and warm water but this didn't budge it. It ended up all over my fingers (when trying to squeeze the excess out) and sink, not to mention the sink needed cleaning with a proper bathroom cleaner afterwards!! In the end I had to use my waterproof eye makeup remover on the brush and even this was quite hard. I think proper makeup brush cleaner is definitely required for this foundation!
Tips: Maybe a sponge for application unless you have proper makeup cleanser for brushes.
This foundation has an awesome open and close mechanism to stop wastage or spillage in your make up bag. You twist the lid to lock/unlock and then pump.
The coverage is light but buildable and gives the skin a nice even and dewy finish. The texture is quite light and “watery” compared to Shiseidos other foundations that I’ve tried but don’t let this put you off. It really is a great product and I will continue to buy it.
The glam black packaging looks expensive but I look beyond the sleek black packing and want to know the product works for me. Shisheido are high quality in books and I have a few other products which I enjoy, so expectations are high. If you love a dewy finish rather than matte, you will enjoy the satin finish of Shiseido Synchro Skin Radiant Lifting Foundation. Definitely buildable, but gives a medium coverage to start with anyway. I found it needed a half hour to 'sink in'. But didn't use a setting powder. Certainly a better moisturing feel compared to my current 'chalky' matte foundation, which isn't as kind to my maturing skin. Although sold as a medium to full coverage foundation, it looks so natural on the skin. Minor sins like wrinkles are blurred and refined, although I wouldn't say I had a luminous result. There was no reaction from people around me. A little certainly goes a long way. I love the built in SPF, because I am very guilty of forgetting to wear sunscreen on my face. The results were good but not enough to convince me I should leave my Maybelline brand support...I will definatley move away from matte though, as I have rediscovered the moisture and coverage offered by a dewy formula. Price is definately a factor and the convenience of buying from the supermarket, means I won't be using this product in future. P.s what does non-comedogenic mean? I had to google it..."products likely to help us avoid skin pore blockages and other unwelcome signs of acne that may result."
Tips: A little goes along way, so go easy on the pump. Luckily they have operation instructions in the lid of the box, as I hadn't come across this type before.
This trial confirmed many of my fears about dropping a moderate amount of money on foundation online without testing it in a store.
To select the shade for this trial I plugged three I know fit me into an online foundation matcher. Obviously being a new product it wasn’t available on my go-to site but another told me I should go for the shade 230 Alder.
Side by side with my current foundation (NARS Sheet Glow in Vallauris) it looked a completely different shade and I was really concerned. The first time I put it on on a work day I immediately took it off again thinking it looked too heavy. But when I tried again for a night out I decided it actually looked quite good!
I think it’s fantastic this product is SPF30 - that's a massive selling point for me. On the other hand the twist pump cap took a bit of fiddling with at first to work (user error rather than faulty cap).
The Shiseido Synchro Skin Radiant Lifting Foundation is a medium weight foundation which can be built up, covers imperfections very nicely and felt fresh for hours. It smooths on beautifully and I love the texture, but it didn’t seem to set without a powder and often when I looked in a mirror there was some weird line on my face where I’d obviously touched my face. When I rinsed it off with water the oil drops were obvious - it seems more oil based than other foundations I use.
The Shiseido Synchro Skin Radiant Lifting Foundation hides fine lines as promised but I felt this actually seemed to weigh down my face by drawing attention to the baggy circles under my eyes which was concerning for me. Perhaps I need to up the rest of my makeup game to distract from this instead of just relying on foundation!
Overall the Shiseido Synchro Skin Radiant Lifting Foundation is perfect for a night out but I don't feel it's right for me as a daytime foundation.
Tips: Try it in store to ensure you've got the right shade!
This foundation comes in a glass bottle with a lid that you simply twist to unlock the pump, which is a good deterrent for little fingers or for traveling.
The colour match is bang on for me in 130 Opal. It does have a scent which subsides after application and the colour doesn't oxidize and stays true whilst wearing. This foundation is a thin liquid but surprisingly gives very good coverage, I'd say more full than medium. It gave me a very natural looking finish even though it was a full coverage. It was not cakey, nor a super dewy finish more satin. I was impressed with the result as it seemed to blur any imperfection. I did find that it didn't last as long as other foundations that I have used but I did find that if I sponged where it had settled it looked as good as when I had initially applied it. I used a luminous primer and setting spray so it may sit better with a mattifying primer or spray? I will try this. I don't use powder to set my make-up as it's too drying for my skin.
I found that using less gives a better finish and just add a bit more on imperfections, I actually use less of this than my usual foundation.
Tips: Try to colour match in-store as the colours are lighter. I'm normally an ivory shade and that would have been too light.
This foundation is light and creamy, and applies easily. Its in a glass bottle with a plastic top, that twists to one side to allow the top to pump when pressed. I personally love that there isn't a lid (one less thing to lose). It doesn't have a scent so is pleasant to apply and wear. I used one pump and got a good medium coverage and added another half pump to get nice full coverage. I applied it first thing in the morning and it lasted really well all day, there was hardly any fading and only a little creasing in my deeper wrinkles and only noticeable up close to my critical eye. With only needing one pump as I like a medium coverage this will last me a really long time much longer than my current foundation. While this does cost a lot more then my regular brands, but I also only use half the amount I would with other brand so I think its worth the extra money. Its beautiful packaging simple and works really well. Its a beautiful product and and the spf30 was great for protecting my skin, its not completely water proof. It stayed on my skin really nicely all day through a range of activities, and covered my pigmentation nicely. My skin looked fresh all day and when I removed it my skin was left moist and fresh.
This is a great product that I have quickly came to love and for me really worth the money, if you have fine lines that other foundations settle in or uneven skin tone then this is the foundation is for you.
Tips: I would high recommend good skin prep like a good primer so that this can really do the job it was made to do!
I've been searching for the holy grail in a foundation that both suits my 50+ skin and gives it a bit of a glow, so I was happy to be selected for the trial. Once I figured out the pump mechanism on the bottle, I squeezed out what I considered enough to cover my face. The texture was nice, not greasy or too thick and it spread easily with my fingertips. In subsequent days, I used a foundation brush and felt that was the better option. Coverage wise I would describe it as medium and I was happy with that. But when it came to the 'radiant' part of the foundation, I honestly couldn't see any difference compared to my regular foundation, and if anything, it looked more matte. I ended up putting a highlighter and finishing powder on top to improve the appearance of my skin. Overall I was disappointed in the foundation and felt it wasn't really radiant or lifting. The texture was nice, but for a premium brand like Shiseido, it wouldn't be a foundation I would spend my money on.
Tips: Definitely use a foundation brush.
I have found it hard to find a foundation that works with my skin, so was excited to try this. The packaging is minimal which is great and the instructions on the box are simple and easy to read. The box also has a QR code you can scan to get additional information and instructions about the product. The bottle itself is nice and simple with a twist to pump lid which minimizes mess. The foundation is almost silky and goes on easily. I loved the coverage I got with the foundation which is buildable, making my skin colour even covering the red blotchy patches I have. SPF 30 being an added bonus. Unfortunately this was about all I liked about this foundation. I found it only lasted a couple of hours max before it started going cakey and patchy. It also made my fine lines appear worse. I do work in a cold environment so may have a little to do with it, although I also used when not working. I tried with and without a primer, moisturized and waited 5 mins, also moisturized and applied straight away. For me, this foundation is a no go, so still looking for the right one for me.
I liked that the bottle had a twist top pump (that locked) and no cap, as I often loose caps and end up with a mess in my cosmetic bag. The SPF 30 was a definite plus for me, much higher than other foundations I've used in the past. I enjoyed the buildable coverage and easy blending of the foundation, it left my skin looking smooth and flawless, visibly reducing the appearance of my fine lines. The staying power was amazing and I didn't need to touch up during the day. One thing I did notice, due to the semi matte finish, was that the fine hairs on my skin were more visible. I did however, get good comments from friends about my skin when wearing this foundation and that's always a good indication of a great foundation! I would recommend this to others.
Tips: Blend with a foundation brush rather than fingers.
