I have two flat top foundation brushes, a no-brand brush and this sigma one. There is very little difference between them honestly. I do prefer the sigma one more as it feels a bit nicer on the skin and is ever so slightly less streaky but the no brand was a lot cheaper. So take from that what you will ;)

Tips: I like to spray my setting spray on my brush before applying foundation (just a spritz) as I like to think it helps the foundation set nicely and helps blend.
This was one of the very first brushes i bought 6 years ago and even with being washed a lot, it still stands as a very good foundation brush on my vanity. With sigma you get what you pay for a brush that will last the distance, feels amazing on your skin and will do its job. This brush is the best first staple brush for anyone to have as it makes it easy to apply your foundation with, it glides across the face and is easy to handle and is easy to wash whilst still keeping its form. I have bought the cheap alternatives from eBay and whilst they are cheaper and good for while, the bristles do not feel as good as the ones on the sigma brushes and they wear and tear a lot faster.
I love this brush so much. Hands down my favourite foundation brush. An excellent brush to really buff the product into the skin and get a nice natural finish. It’s nice and densely packed bristles mean you don’t lose too much product into the brush which is fab. Suitable for all skin types.
I also like the look of this brush, black and sleek, it looks professional.
Tips: To apply foundation with this brush - start with 1 pump of foundation, dab onto forehead, cheeks, chin and nose, lightly spread foundation with the brush and then use small circular motions with the brush all over the face until it’s blended seamlessly. If you need more coverage, add a little extra onto the brush and gently stipple in the area that you need the coverage.
To Clean - Spot clean this brush with Iso (brush cleaner) every few days. Spritz the brush with Iso and use circular motions to remove product from the brush. May need a couple of spritz and circles to get it clean. Deep clean regularly (I try for about every fortnight), I use simple ole dishwashing liquid, I put a small amount of liquid on my hand and run the end of the brush under luke warm water and make circular motions on my hand with the brush, continue to rinse until water is clear and brush looks clean. Dry on a towel gently using circular motions and leave in sunlight to finish drying.
Never soak the brush! You will destroy the handle and cry!
Reading all the positive reviews on here (Beauty review) made me really want to buy this brush. After a year of owning this brush I can say applying foundation or concealer has been a breeze, not to mention it saves a lot more foundation comparing it to the beauty blender which absorbs some of the product.
The short dense bristles make buffing easy, they are very soft and the blunt shape makes cream contouring an easy task as well. Only a few bristles have fallen out in the past year and when I wash this brush I make sure I dry it facing down (tied to a towel rack) so it doesn't end up stinky.
If there was a list of must haves for every makeup artist or makeup lover, I would include this brush. If you don't own one you need to have one, it makes things just a bit easier when it comes to application and it works with cream or/and liquid foundation.
This has got to be my most dense foundation brush and it blends out my foundation in less than 20 seconds and it's streak free. I can dip my foundation brush in the foundation or primer I have on the back of my hand and it distributes the Now I don't reach for it every week but when I do I'm impressed with it. It isn't the softest brush I own but it feels fairly soft for being a foundation brush for liquid foundation and being very dense. The brush isn't cheap but it's really good quality. I've never had problems with it shedding and if cleaned properly it's as good as new once it washes out. The only con of this brush and I guess foundation brushes in general is that it takes a quite a bit of time to clean thoroughly so that all the foundation is out of the brush, especially since it is the most dense liquid foundation brush I have and it takes awhile to dry. But other than that it's an excellent staple brush.
Tips: If you don't have a brush cleaning pad I highly recommend you get one before investing in this brush because it make a huge difference in how difficult it will be to get the foundation out of the brush. When I clean my foundation and concealer brushes I do the first cleanse with equal parts of dishsoap and white vinegar and it really helps to cut the crease and caked up dried up foundation on the bristles. Then I rinse them out and follow that with a mild brush cleanser. Briefly drying the brush on a towel and before sliding the handle into a brush tree will help this brush dry much quicker. I got a really cheap brush tree for under 10NZD off Aliexpress.
