CeraVe Blemish Control Gel

I must admit, I was a tad sceptic, as most gel's feels sticky on your skin. Not this one! Once applied you won't even know it is there! My 2 teenage boys even climbed into it and it really did work as it states & the bonus is that it did not dry out my skin nor my boys. It definitely did reduced breakouts and when applied to existing ones, by next day it was less inflamed and much better already. I will definitely get this again & although I won't use it the whole time, as I'm 47 and only get the occasional break out before my periods, it definitely did help & it did work for my teenage boys age 14 & 17.

My pores also definitely was minimised.

So my overall verdict on this would be it does what it states & even more!

Made my face really oily and not good. Also didn’t work at all as it said it would. Never helped with my pores or anything. In fact made them more obvious

After the cleanser actually dried my skin and caused it to break out this actually did come to the rescue. It cleared up my break outs within a couple of days. The after feel of the product is quite tacky and sticky but I used it under a moisturiser before bed and it got right to work and did its job as claimed.

My skin has been noticeably brighter since using this product, but also very moisturised. A perfect face gel for those that are prone to breakouts from heavy moisturisers. This gel is very moisturising but won’t clog your pores at the same time.

I used this on a few active spots I had and unfortunately it didn't go anywhere towards eradicating them. However on the flip side, it also didn't irritate my skin, make it peel etc. I probably wouldn't purchase this but I did like the blemish control cleanser.

Tbh I was a bit nervous about using this product. Traditionally I have found products aimed at clearing blemishes very drying on my skin. I was pleasantly surprised to discover this DIDN'T dry my skin out and it didn't leave me with that sticky feeling so many gels and serums leave on the skin. As a further bonus, it was quick to absorb.

The packaging is also well designed. The screw top is easy to open and, by standing on the top, you don't have to shake the package to get any product out.

How effective was it? I have been using this in combination with the cleanser and together, they've been keeping my skin calm and mainly clear, even when I haven't been looking after it as well as I should.

This is a good product for those people who want blemish treatment that won't dry them out. Some love for us dry-skinned people who still get spots!

This gel has two AHAs (glycolic and lactic acid) to smooth the skin, 2% salicylic acid (to target blemishes) and niacinamide to calm the skin and of course CeraVes essential ceramides. Luckily I received this after I had some nasty hormonal breakouts. I washed my face with the blemish control cleanser and after applied this directly onto my blemishes. I didn’t get any stinging or burning, I use some actives already in my routine. The next day I woke up and they were flatter. I was super impressed, I kept using this routine and they were gone within 3 days.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone who struggles with acne, or even like me who has combination skin with hormonal acne. I’m gonna be bringing this out anytime a pimple pops out over a pimple patch.

I used this gel every evening after cleansing with CeraVe Blemish Control Cleanser. It came in a 40ml tube with a handy applicator tip for targeting directly to the blemishes. I applied to my whole face (excluding eyes) as a preventative. A little goes a long way so you don't need to use a lot. This is non irritating and fragrance free. My skin only has occasional hormonal breakouts and during my 3 weeks of use, I am happy to say that I had none so will follow through and use till finished with hopefully the same result. My skin definitely feels healthier and clearer since using this. At around $23 per tube, made in France and developed with dermatologists this is a great value top range product.
