Garnier Green Labs Hylu-Melon Routine

These products worked really well together and are going to last a long tube as both products only require a small amount to get the desired results.

My skin was in pretty bad shape after spending a week in hospital with nothing. My skin feels fresh and pumped after using and I look forward to continuing to use the products to see more benefits from them.

I'm the first to admit I can sometimes be a bit of a skincare snob, and just assume the most expensive products are the best. It's fair to say that life is expensive, so I was pleasantly surprised at these two products. The cleanser is so gentle, it didn't sting my eyes, but took off my make up including my mascara. The serum cream, what a great name for it! My usual routine incorporates a serum, a moisturizer and a sunscreen. This cream was enough that I did not need a serum as well. The scent on these products is also nice, its very fresh, and lightly melon-like. I didn't have any dry skin patches, nor did i have anywhere super oily. I am sure I wasn't drinking enough water during the trial period, but you couldn't tell by my skin! I guess the hydration in these products must be good. I also like the colour of the packaging, it is pastel enough that it isn't in your face, but its still a pretty colour.

Garnier has been a favourite brand of mine for the last few months, as they are cruelty-free, and their products are very effective and affordable. I have been seeing the Green Lab products a lot on Instagram. So I was excited to be chosen to be on the trial team for the Hylu-Melon routine!

Hyaluronic acid is a very popular ingredient at the moment, and I have quite a few skincare and makeup procucts that include it. I have combination skin, and it can get drier as the weather gets colder.

The cleanser is in a generous sized squeeze tube, has a gel-cream consistency, and a light watermelon scent. I have found I need about a 20 cent piece sized amount, and need to massage it in quite well. It leaves my skin clean and hydrated.

The serum cream is an a sturdy plastic bottle with a pump lid, has a medium thickness/consistency, and a light watermelon scent. It feels hydrating but not greasy or sticky. SPF 15 is great for everyday use for me, but I would put SPF 50 over the top if it was a day I was outside lots. Makeup goes on nicely over it.

I was getting a few pimples when I first started this routine, but quickly worked out I needed to use a larger amount of the cleanser than what I had been using. This cleared up the pimples, and now my skin looks healthy and hydrated.

I would recommend this routine to people who would like products that feel hydrating but not heavy. These products have recently been stocked at my local Pak n Save, at a very reasonable price. I would repurchase, and also am keen to try a few other Green Lab products!

I have used this regime everyday for just over a week now and I have found it quite pleasant, especially for a lower price range product. The wash was complimented by the hydrating serum cream and worked well to keep my dry skin hydrated throughout the day. Both had similar smells, and bothe never irritated my easily irritated skin at all. I like the fact this regime is just two easy to use products, which is a must to for busy mum like me!

This trial really gave me a kick up the bum to start a proper routine for my skincare.

And what a perfect product combo to do it with! My skin feels tighter, looks brighter, and is less oily. Although it is almost winter, I appreciate the SPF, especially watching my son's rugby on an autumn morning - that sun is still dangerous!

I can see this combo being a fixture in my life for a while :)

I feel this would be a really nice skincare routine for someone whos skin is on the dry sidebut also had the tendency to breakout. This routine always made my skin feel lovely and soft. I think with continued use i notice an improvement to my fine lines. These products used together i think complement each other really well. They leave your skin feeling soft and refreshed and non drying. Love them!!

Cleanser: Has an almost gel-like texture, and smells faintly watermelon under the floral. Pleasant without being overbearing.

I use a silicone facial cleansing brush for my face, this cleanser does clean my face well and removes makeup, without leaving me overly dry and tight. My face feels almost plump. The smell doesn't cling to the skin after.

No dramatic difference to fine lines that I can see within the short trial time, though my forehead lines might be a wee bit softer.

Serum: Twist lock on the pump, but it doesn't come with a cap. Serum is a white creamy texture that spreads easily and absorbs fast on clean skin. Smells pleasant.

I love that it has SPF, easy one step in the morning to apply. The smell doesn't linger for too long on the skin and I do feel moisturised after using it.

Routine: The combination of the two products does provide some moisturising, and subtle plumping effects.

I really enjoyed this skin routine. The face wash smelt gorgeous and made my skin feel well hydrated and soft. The moisturiser was thicker than I expect, but sunk in beautifly and I enjoyed the is included a serum and SPF.

I really like the idea of these products, I like the packaging, and I really like the scent of them both, but neither lived up to expectations. I didn't find either product to be particularly hydrating. I actually found the cleanser to be quite drying and it stripped my skin and made it look flaky. Every couple of days I had to break out of this routine just to use a super hydrating product to bring my skin back to life. Cleanser is a gel base so avoid if you have dry or dehydrated skin. Moisturizer is lightweight and doesn't give a white cast from the SPF, however, this product sometimes balls up on your skin after an hour or so of wear.

I think this routine would be best for someone that has super oily skin, perhaps teens. I didn't notice a difference in my fine lines.
