Alpine Silk Manuka Honey Ultra Rejuvenating Serum Reviews

I received this from the last Beauty Vault and being a fan of natural NZ products and anything that contains Manuka Honey as an ingredient,I was excited to use this.I have never used any products from the brand Alpine Silk so I was pleasantly surprised on the look and design of their packaging and the see through glass bottle with an easy to use eye dropper to apply the serum,less waste!.The serum looks quite elegant with the little gold flakes twinkling away in the bottle and the serum itself is quite think but easily absorbs into your skin and very quickly without leaving any residue or oiliness afterwards.Yes I did notice the odd one or two gold flakes but after applying my usual moisturiser they soon disappeared and I was left with glowing smooth skin.I honestly am in love with this serum because within a week or two my fine lines around my eyes are virtually gone and my deeper lines on my forehead have softened so are less noticeable.I have not had any bad reactions from using this and believe me I have pretty sensitive skin so it can be a mission trying to find a serum that doesn't make me break out.My makeup sits beautifully and looks flawless underneath the serum which is something I am always trying to achieve.This serum is supposed to be massaged into your fine lines until fully absorbed which is very rapid but I actually use it all over my face.You only need a small amount so it's definitely a lasting product and I would say value for money.I only hope it never gets discontinued because I will be purchasing a bottle once this one has run out.

This serum comes in a cute glass bottle with a dropper. I also liked the lovely bright yellow box it came in, it was eye catching and made me think of the sun and nature.

I was very attracted to the ingredients which reflect skin enhancing properties, like collagen and placenta, and aloe vera and vitamin C. I have been using it twice daily and find it quite nice. It is thick and clear, but absorbs quickly. It doesn't leave any sticky residue like some manuka honey products can. It leaves my skin feeling smooth and clear and ready for moisturiser.

I do giggle when I look closely and find a gold flake somewhere on my face. A small amount of sparkle - that probably looks like dust to anyone else! It doesn't matter, I love gold so I'm liking it.

Overall a pretty good product. I would use it again. I feel that it's a product that would show better results over a longer term.

I had quite a giggle to myself reading comments about the gold flakes such as "I didn’t want to look like I had been crafting with my daughter" and "I was concerned they would look like glitter on my skin" in the reviews below before grabbing this from the Beauty Vault.

My beauty therapist has been on at me to start using a serum on my combination skin and I'd just run out of the Alpine Silk Rosehip Oil which I loved and comes in the same gorgeous glass dropper bottle.

Being water based and oil free the serum was of an unexpected consistency. It dropped out in a single, gold flecked glob which I then smoothed into my skin, paying extra attention to areas where fine lines are appearing. The product has a subtle scent and absorbed nicely, with one rogue gold flake left on my cheekbone I didn't mind remaining there being an evening at home. My skin did feel replenished but I still needed moisturiser afterwards. I will definitely incorporate this into my daily routine.

I love waterbased face serums as oil based ones are just that: face oils, not serums. So I picked this up excitedly for a great price and I have used up a whole bottle of this and it didn’t break me out, wasn’t drying, definitely didn’t do any damage. But did it do anything good? I’m not sure, it felt nice and moisturising tapping it into my skin at night, but I haven’t noticed any lasting difference to my skin at all. I really liked the ingredients in it and the consistency was nice, dropper and glass packaging was luxurious, but when I ran out of it and just used my usual night cream there was no difference to my skin in the morning at all. I won’t repurchase and I’m glad I haven’t paid full price, sadly this just didn’t do anything for me or effects can’t be seen!?

This serum is applied via a wand to the areas you wish to treat. It is a sticky consistency and the gold flakes are quite visible on the wand. I applied this to my problem areas (scars around my mouth, around my eyes and nose) and soothed it in with my fingers. Took a bit to get the hang of how much to apply but once I worked it out it was easy to get it right. At times the gold flakes stayed on my skin so I had to remove them individually as I didn't want to look like I was attending a school ball in the 90's under certain light and then apply my moisturiser if it was needed. Once the product was in and set, my skin felt tighter and visually looked better throughout the day. It didn't smell or leave a sticky residue or film. My sensitive skin didn't react angrily like most products. I really liked this product and was nice to be able to see results in such a short time.

The product has a very natural look to the box and the bottle is clear glass with a dropper style. This natural look goes with the ingredients promoted by the product.

I loved that it was water based and absorbed into my skin quickly leaving no residue behind. I also loved the neutral smell which means I don’t have too many perfumed products on my face as I can be sensitive to these. Even though I couldn’t feel it on my face I was left with a feeling of freshness. The gold flakes made me nervous as I didn’t want to look like I had been crafting with my daughter but I didn’t have to worry, no sparkles lingered.

As for the results I feel the review time could have been longer to allow for differing delivery times giving a good opportunity to use the product. In saying that I’m sure I can see a difference in the fine lines around my eyes and I’m looking forward to using the rest of my product.

I was really thrilled to be trying a New Zealand product and would love to look more into the product range.

I have sensitive skin and worry about trying new things so was excited to be part of the trial team for the serum. Being in my mid 30s yet having hardly any fine lines etc I was a lil dubious about it when it arrived and I read the box. But figured I'd give it my all and I have to say I love it! Using it on the couple of fine lines I have around my eyes and the dark circles after a couple of shocking nights sleep this past week, & wow! It definitely helps to rehydrate and rejuvenate my skin.

The gold flecks make it look good on, and it absorbs pretty quickly. I love the fact the bottle has a dropper which makes it easy to apply.

I'm definitely going to continue using it and see what happens.

I was delighted to be selected to trial this very pretty looking Alpine Silk Manuka Honey Ultra- Rejuvenating Face Serum with 23 Carat Gold Flakes.

My skin is sensitive and on the drier side so I was looking forward to seeing if one of the key ingredients, Manuka Honey could help improve my skins hydration levels. I should mention that it has a UMF of 10 which basically means it's genuine NZ manuka honey and the value indicates the strength of those key ingredients. I was also keen and slightly skeptical of the pretty gold flakes and what benefit they might have.

The bottle is made of glass and is see thru which showcases the gold flakes, all 23 carats. The dropper applicator is a smart feature as it makes it easy and hygienic to dispense the right amount.

The serum is a clear, watery gel with gold flakes. It is lightweight so it leaves no greasy feeling on my skin once it has absorbed in. It absorbs very quickly so there is no waiting around to put other products on. There is a slight unpleasant smell to the serum if you put your nose right up to the bottle but it doesn't actually leave a lingering smell once applied. I apply morning and night after cleansing but before moisturising.

So the verdit.... It feels great on my skin and my foundation is wearing better as my skin looks and feels more hydrated. I measured this extra hydration by the disappearance of previously dry patches on and around my nose and on my cheeks before the trial  My skin also feels very soft which is wonderful as I have only been trialling the serum for a short period of time (6days).   I think the gold flakes may have a slight brightening effect on my skin but I can't say I've noticed anything more at this stage and I do wonder if they are just a visual gimmick to make you purchase.

With our without the gold I do believe it delivers on hydrating and softening your skin. Hopefully with continual use I will start seeing some plumping or smoothing out of fine lines. I will update this review in a few months.

Yes I recommend this product.

I didn't have much faith that this product would be any good, mainly because of my pre existing prejudice around 'trendy' ingredients like gold flakes and placentas. I have spent money on beauty products with these ingredients, in the past and been underwhelmed.

After this trial I am sold. I replaced my usual array of serums, with this product, for the duration of the trial but continued with the other products in my day/night regime. Firstly, I did not follow the instructions of 'using a few drops on fine lines', I used a moderate amount for full face. I can't recall the fragrance, but I'm very picky when it comes to scents in moisturisers which means it was very subtle or didn't have one.

The serum has a silky texture, went on well and was absorbed quickly. My skin felt very hydrated. After a few days I noticed my skin had an increased glow, looked hydrated and I swear there was an improvement in my fine lines after a week. I always say that I will take a before and after shot when trialing a product but alas I never do, you'll just have to take my word for it.
