Lovely and hydrating

I was excited to be chosen for this trial. I'm a big user of face masks and have quite a collection from clay to the Asian sheet masks (I was in Japan recently and did a giant stock up).

I didn't find this had a particularly strong scent but it was very gummy like when I pulled it out of the packet.

The mask itself is huge compared to sheet masks i'm used to except the eye holes were tiny which just didn't make sense to me.

It was also dripping in product which I found ran down my neck a wee bit while I left it on. All in all a nice hydrating mask but not the best i've used and i'm unlikely to purchase it myself as $4 for one mask is a bit steep in my opinion but could be nice for an occasion.

Tips: Use the excess product and rub it into your hands and neck

Goopy fun Garnier Tissue mask

This was a really fun review, though not entirely successful on the part of the product! Never having used a tissue mask, I was curious about this and happy to be chosen. I followed the directions on the packet, opened it up, and placed the mask over my face, and then removed the outer layer.

The mask was sopping wet with the mask goop, which had a sort of fresh smell, but was not heavily fragranced. With being so wet, I expected it to drip, but it didn’t. I was sitting on the couch at the time - should have really been in the bathroom as I needed a few tissues to clean up my hands after placing the mask.

The mask was too big for my face and had to keep it out of my eyes to prevent the product going in them. This mask was supposed to be for Dry or Sensitive skin and promised to leave the face feeling Not tight, and Moisturised. After the mask was removed, some areas of my skin felt softer, but not a great deal more.

As the mask settled on to my face, I felt a few little prickles of irritation, but they didn’t get worse or more frequent. My skin can be sensitive but not too dry, so I thought it might cause a breakout the next day, but it didn’t.

After the 15 mins was up, I removed the mask. The instructions say to massage the remaining goop into your face. This was not feasible as there was HEAPS of goop stuck to me, so I wiped it off, and my face was then damp. A little while later my face like there was still ‘stuff’ on it, so I washed my face with clean water and patted dry. $5 seems reasonable for a large portion of a one-off mask, and is comparable to other sachet face masks.

On evaluation, I find that this seemed like a good idea but with the large fit and luxurious amount of goop, it seems not worth the hassle - I’d rather use a mask I can spread on myself.

Tips: Place the mask while in the bathroom, then recline for 15 mins. Don't try to rub it all in afterwards.

LOVE THIS MASK

when I got invited to trial a face mask I was beyond excited! I use face masks once every week because my skin gets so dry and I have at least 20 different kinds in my vanity. I was reading the back of the package and was super excited to see that this mask was inspired from Asia because that is where all of my favourite masks come from. I like the protective layer as it helps when you unfold the mask so that it does not break, this mask is very soft and delicate which feels amazing on the skin. It is also super easy to use and quick as you only need to leave it on for 15 minutes. afterwards it left my skin super glory and feeling very hydrated. Out of all of my face masks I have tried this one was definitely up there with one of my favourites and I am super excited because it is a drugstore brand! I would definitely give this mask a try because it gives you time to relax and it has a very nice cooling effect on my face when I have it on. and for the price, it is worth trying because some face masks can go up to $14.

Tips: cleanse and tone your face before applying the mask :)

Hydra Bomb

I recently tried the new Garnier Hydra Bomb Tissue Mask and I was a little bit disappointed. The product was quite slimy in texture and felt cold and unpleasant on my skin. That said it was fine once it was on my face and it had started to absorb and warm up a bit. It was easy to apply but the eye holes required some adjustment to make them a little larger (I had to cut them). Once the 15 mins was up I followed the instructions and patted the remainder of the product in to my skin which was quite nice. The product absorbed quickly and didn't leave any greasy residue. The next day I did notice that some of my dry spots were improved and my skin felt normally hydrated all day. Whilst it did do what it said it would, the slimy texture is a little off-putting for me so I probably wouldn't use this on a regular basis.

Tips: This would feel amazing after a day in the sun where your skin could use a cooling blast and at that price, its affordable to have one on hand.

An experience

I was excited to try this mask - I've never tried a tissue mask before and I was super curious on two things.

1: The claustrophobia factor. The mask failed this one sadly. It's a thick tissue and is FULL of formula. Placing it on my face I struggled to line it up properly, but after removing the blue backing, it sat a little bit better. But not great. The combination of the cold formula, thick tissue and ill-fit made me feel really uncomfortable. It did sit on my face for the duration though, no peeling or slipping.

2. The sensitive test. One pet peeve with cosmetics is that producers often confuse sensitive with dry. My skin is not generally dry, but it is sensitive and red and itchy. I was super surprised that this passed the test. It didn't irritate my skin, and it didn't leave me looking like an oil slick. On removal there was a lot of formula left behind but it rubbed in nicely.

The skin verdict: meh. Yes my skin looked and felt nice about three hours later. It looked 'plump', and a little smoother and fresher. But the next morning, there was no real noticeable difference.

Would I buy it again? Probably not. I have a new appreciation for cream masks. With them I can control the amount of product I use and place it exactly where I want it to go.

Tips: It's very wet. Tie up your hair, remove any jewellery you don't want to get covered in goo and be prepared to rub, rub, rub afterwards to get all the formula into your skin.

Cold gloop

So I got my sample and was so excited to try it. I needed some pampering. The packaging was quite neat. It was bigger than I thought but looked nice. I read the instructions and it seemed simple enough. However when I opened the package and took it out I was surprised. It was dripping wet!! It was also very cold. Hmmm I thought, well here goes. I laid it on my face and tried to find the outer layer to peel off, I managed to find it. The mask was so slimy I had to wipe my hands, and it was really cold. I lay there with this cold slimy gloopy mask on for the 15 minutes it said. My face was tingly. I didn’t feel very relaxed or pampered, my dog came in and gave me such a look I laughed and thought oh well, we shall see what the results are. I took it off at the end and as it suggested used cotton balls to wipe off the remaining gloop. The plus side is, my face did look very hydrated after, nice and “plump” looking.

Tips: Maybe use it in a hot bath to counter the cold and not worry so much about getting it all over your clothes or pjs....

Absolutely loved it

Garnier has been a brand I've trusted and used heaps. It's easily accessible and pretty affordable. I was super excited to be a part of this trial team as I can never say not to a good facial mask especially if it's a sheet mask. What I love about it is that it's so easy to use, you just take it out of the packet, pop it on your face, take it off when you're done and you don't even need to rinse. I don't think there's really a strong smell to this, if any at all it's only a slight fragrant smell but very natural so it doesn't overpower or anything. I generally have pretty oily skin but I've recently found myself trying to hydrate my skin a bit more and this has definitely helped. I used it at night and woke up and my skin felt super soft and really moisturised. I'd definitely recommend this even if you have oily skin because rather than adding to the oils its more of a moisturising feeling.

Tips: On the packet it says use for 15mins but I feel like you could use it for as long as you want. I left it on for about 30-45 mins. I'd also use the left over liquid in the bag to apply later and let it sink in.

Garnier Chamomile Tissue Mask

I was super excited to try this mask, so when the courier knocked on the door, I quickly picked up the item and ran to the couch to do my thing.

I opened the package, which is a really nice package and easy to open, and pulled out the mask. My goodness!! It is FULL of hydrating gel. I unfolded it and placed it on my face, following the very simple instructions. I found it a bit small around the eyes and it irritated my eyelashes on the outside corner of my eyes, just touched them and made it a little uncomfortable. I pealed off the blue plastic and adjusted the mask and watched tv for 15 mins!

Carefully pulled the masked off and there was so much gel on my face, I couldn't rub it all in, so again, following the instructions, wiped the excess off.

My face was cool and hydrated. It's now been 3 hours since I applied it and my skin feels so soft and there is no ghastly smell.

Tips: Don't panic if it's not quite right before taking off the blue part, once that part is gone, it's easier to adjust to your face and smooth out

Garnier Chamomile Tissue Mask

I love a good tissue mask, and was really excited to see Garnier come out with some. I saw this in Farmers for $4.99. Containing soothing ingredients such as chamomile, hyaluronic acid and a hydrating serum, this product describes itself as a "Hydra Bomb", and it's not wrong. The mask is a standard size and some manipulation is required. The liquid has no discernable scent and is clear. After applying to face, I used some of the excess liquid to apply to my neck, and decolletage area and chilled for 15 mins. After removal you can either massage leftover product into skin, or remove with tissues. I chose to massage in. I applied this before bedtime, so used it as my nightcream that night. The next day, my skin was plump, and soft and some of the redness had calmed. The oride seems a bit steep, especially when you can buy some other really good tissue masks, with good quality ingredients, @ 5 for $12, but i guess they are cheaper than the SK-II ones lol.

Tips: Massage excess fluid into neck, decolletage area and.the back of hands.
