I love love love this cleanser. It made my skin feel amzing each time after using it. It had a pleasant smell and was easy to get out of the packaging. The pump on the lid makes it easy to use and I like that the cap didnt feel flimsy. Paired with the moisturiser my skin felt amazing and pampered. Would definitely recommend and buy this again.

Tips: I used this on damp skin.
Love this product, comes in a good sized 140ml pump action bottle that is super smooth to use. I use this every morning in the shower on my face and it left my skin feeling clean and refreshed, has a gentle smell to it which I like as I'm not into strong overpowering fragrant smells. Its full of lots of nutrient-rich NZ goodies like blackcurrant oil, grapeseed & seaweed to calm and soften the skin. I will definitely be buying this product again in the future as it is not only great on my skin but also is very well priced and available at the supermarket.
The packaging is great, such a lovely green tone. Indicated for Normal to Dry skin.
Packaging indicates recyclable, product is cruelty friendly and 6 month shelf life after opening = ticks on all 3 from me. The 140ml is generous and feel it would easily last 6 months.
Bottle self dispenses with a push down nozzle, this is appreciated and dispenses just the right amount. Dispenser also unscrews so all the contents can be utilized. Dispenser can be locked and has a removal lid, makes this product ideal for taking out of the house.
Ingredients list is impressive. Includes: Blackcurrant Oil, Avocado Oil, Omega Oils and Calendula. I always hone into anything with Calendula and also respond really well to blackcurrant (in another range of skin care I have). With so many “Oil” ingredients I expected it to be much more moisturizing. It’s also for Normal to Dry skin so again felt a bit more moisterization would have been expected. After using my skin felt over cleaned, a little tighter, only a little. It cleaned great, makeup came off really well. Just feels a little commercial big brand and not quite right for me.
The smell wasn’t unpleasant but did find it a bit odd, Marine Bioactive maybe or even an omission of lots of fragrance could be reason? Tell us on packaging if it is.
Texture is great, easily massaged in – I did use a little water on fingertips.
Ecostore is a great NZ brand that I truly trust when it comes to house hold products and feel the skin cleanser is OK, not bad but not super lush. Does fit in with their brand good. It’s a great go to supermarket brand that is competitively priced.
Not suitable (IMO) for very sensitive or dry skin when over 40. That’s a bold statement however products like this that I used in my 20’s & 30’s were more than adequate and now in my 40’s feel facial skin much more tetchy and not as responsive and robust as it used to be.
Proud product to send overseas if looking for a NZ product made in NZ. Any products I send to relatives overseas are always NZ made.
Tips: Looking for packaging that can be taken out of home, this is great for that.
Ecostore are a brand that I had heard of in relation to eco-conscious household cleaning products, but I was not aware that they made skincare products too.
This cleanser comes in a pale green and white cardboard box, with the image of orange sunlight filtered through green water on one side. The cleanser comes in a white plastic pump bottle with a green plastic cap. The bottle feels solid and it is nice to hold. It contains 140ml, which is a very decent size. The pump is very easy to use.
I have quite dry, sensitive skin, so I prefer to use a cream cleanser over other kinds of cleansers as I find them less drying. A good cream cleanser is always hard to find though. I found this cream cleanser to be very kind and gentle on my skin. It is beige in colour, with a very mild, perfumed scent. It is very easy to massage into damp skin, although it says you can also use it on dry skin. My skin feels very soft and moisturised after using this. It contains ingredients such as seaweed and grapeseed extracts, and avocado, blackcurrant and grapeseed oils.
I am very impressed with this cleanser. I will continue to use it beyond the trial, and I will definitely consider repurchasing it.
This product is rich and creamy. It feels soothing and hydrating on my face and neck. Its rich in avocado, apricot and kiwiseed oil so it lends itself to removing makeup as well as any environmental factors from the day.
I love that it is filled with New Zealand Sourced ingredients - seaweed and grapeseed extracts to nourish and keep skin hydrated.
Conveniently its packaged in a pump dispenser so no mess and no waste and also great for travel as its lockable.
The fragrance is subtle and smells herbaceous and planty and a bit like the ocean - hence the Marine Boiactives contained within.
This product really does leave skin feeling super soft and clean without stripping the skin or making it feel tight.
I love the price point at $19.99 for 140mls. Its great value for money and supports the New Zealand Economy as its made right here in New Zealand. Easy to find at your local supermarket that stocks Ecostore or buy online.
I will definitely be looking out for other products in this range to try.
Tips: Apply 2 pumps into the palm of your hand and distribute evenly onto the face and neck massaging as you go. Remove with a warm facecloth for best results.
I really enjoyed using this product, especially as it came with a handy pump applicator, which you don't find very often on a cleansing milk. I would use one - two pumps at the end of the day and generously massage over my face and neck, then rinse off to remove. This product really lasted the distance with the cleanser remaining to apply a good massage and then cleanly rinsing away, leaving no trace of dryness, redness or itchiness! It felt calming and soothing to my face and easily removed my make up at the end of the day. I really enjoyed the easy application and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this product to anyone with sensitive skin.
Tips: A lovely refreshing cleanser for morning use, but definitely rinse off for make-up removal. Tissue removal is not effective to remove this product - rinse with water.
Best used in the shower I think... I tried it over the sink, but didnt feel like I was able to wash it off properly, so started using it as part of my morning shower routine. I do like this stuff, good sized bottle and the natural ingredients are a huge bonus! My skin felt nice after using this and I will continue to use this until it runs out :)
I am thttiled to have been selected to trial this ecostore cleanser as part of the skin care regime range. The cleanser comes nicely and discreetly packaged. There’s an understated elegance about the packaging mostly due to its simple and subtle pastel colours. The same is also true for the actual dispensing bottle that the cleanser comes in. The product dispenses easily and is easy to apply to either wet or dry face. It’s got a smooth, silky texture and washes off easily. The face feels soft and clean after use and there is no dryness or irritation. It’s a mild, gentle cleanser that does the job without stripping your face of its natural oils or moisture. Oh and it smells great too.
I was quite happy with ecostore cleanser. I liked the simple packaging and the lid. It was helpful having a pump as you get a good measured amount. I found this especially helpful when using in the shower. This cleanser did not foam but still cleaned makeup off well. There was very little left when I used a eye makeup remover that was only needed for my mascara. The smell was strong but pleasant and I didn’t find it to linger.
Tips: Great for shower
The ecostore Skin: Gentle Cleanser has an unusal consistency, it's neither foamy nor creamy. It's beige and kind of melts on to my face rather than creating a lather which I'd prefer as that's what makes me feel like my face is being deeply cleaned. I've been using this cleanser twice a day, which is also efficient in the removal of my makeup at night (so I guess it is effective in doing it's job!)
I don't love the fact that Eco Store products all smell exactly the same from dishwashing liquid or cleanser but I do love that they use natural ingredients, don't test on animals and are kind to the environment.
The branding is basic but the packaging is nice with a sturdy plastic pump bottle with a secure cap which comes in a cardboard box. The 140ml bottle is easily thrown in a gym bag without risk of leakage and great value at $19.99.
Tips: Use in conjunction with the ecostore moisturiser and night cream my skin is soft, supple and clear. This range obviously works for combination/ normal skin.
