Garnier Skin Active AHA + BHA Charcoal Anti-Imperfection Serum

Loved this product! My skin feels super fresh & smooth after applying this. I don’t have blackheads, but definitely had less redness. Can recommend this for sure.

Consistency/texture: Its a very thin serum my skin absorbed it quickly and i felt my skin was hydrated for hours, it didn’t leave my skin greasy. I’m trialling this during winter, hopefully in summer months will produce same results

With using this a few weeks, I have noticed my skin feels more supple, more clear/even and my pores appear much smaller.

When I applied for this trial team my skin was in an absolutely terrible state. I get hormonal acne at certain times each month but this was a particularly bad instance and my combination skin had been looking oilier - potentially just one poor product choice. I was also keen to reduce marks and redness.

The serum is quite thick and syrupy and smells ok (not Garnier’s best smelling product!). It’s a black colour which rubs in clear, but I found if I accidentally used too much or my face was slightly damp it created a soapy texture.

Initially I used it all over as a serum which required a couple of pipettes worth of product. I later began to just apply it to my spots and oil -prone areas. I would love some advice as to what other serums I could use in combination with this to achieve the perfect, complete skin appearance I am after.

The charcoal does dry out the oilines and remove toxins (I'd previously seen success using a cleanser which contained charcoal as a teenager). I am still getting spots but feel they’re clearing up faster. The orange peel pore texture remains but I have seen a definite reduction in my skin redness.

After using the Garnier Skin Active AHA + BHA Charcoal Anti-Imperfection Serum for a while, I have to say it's a good product. The serum has a pleasant texture and absorbs quickly into the skin without leaving any greasy residue. I appreciate the inclusion of AHA and BHA exfoliants, as well as the charcoal ingredient, which is known for its purifying properties.

While the serum didn't provide me with an instant, dramatic transformation, I did notice some positive changes in my skin. It helped to unclog my pores and reduce the appearance of blackheads and blemishes to some extent. My skin felt smoother and slightly more refined after using it regularly.

However, I must admit that the results weren't as significant as I had hoped for. Perhaps my expectations were set too high, or it could be that my skin requires more time to fully respond to the product. I'm willing to continue using it and see if the results improve over time.

One thing worth mentioning is that the serum didn't cause any irritation or dryness on my skin, which is a big plus. It has a mild, pleasant scent that isn't overpowering, making it suitable for those who are sensitive to fragrance.

Overall, the Garnier Skin Active AHA + BHA Charcoal Anti-Imperfection Serum is a good addition to my skincare routine. While the immediate difference may not be groundbreaking, I believe it has the potential to deliver better results with continued use.

I was rather off put by the idea of a black serum but I had seen this all over tik tok so wanted to try! It’s a really nice hydrating serum and my husband even uses it. There was absolutely no downtime of skin irritation getting used to it like other serums. I feel i need to buy one more and see if it continues giving me a nice even glow over a longer period of time

Okay let's just appreciate the packaging. The box is eye catching in its black, white and grey; And it feels so soft to touch, caress the packaging! The glass bottle has a nice weight to it and looks expensive. It has a very nice long dropper dispenser. The product itself (serum) looks thick in the bottle and when you use the dropper. The Colour is dark like charcoal. The scent is minty and has the charcoal smell also.

I was shocked in a good way when I used the product for the first time as it looks thick but when you rub it in a little goes a very very long way and it starts to feel like water. (The Colour also goes away) O.m.g my skin felt so so soft! Like insanely soft and smooth! It also worked amazing mixed in with foundation, under makeup, alone and I did not break out! My skin does seem brighter after the trial and has kept up the smooth even feel. I am excited to see what another month will do to my skin.

I had seen this at Countdown and was really intrigued by it, so when I got an invite to this trial I was super stoked. I'm 41 and I still get breakouts so any product that can help my skin I am always keen to try.

The serum comes in a 30ml glass bottle with a dropper. It is a slimy consistency and black in colour. I find the smell quite strong and was a bit worried it was going to irritate my skin as it can be quite sensitive. However it didn't cause any issues at all.

I have been using this both morning and night after cleansing. A little definitely goes a long way. I apply it all over my face and it dries down in seconds. It leaves my face feeling soft and smooth. My BB cream sits really well on top.

The first week of using this my skin broke out, but I continued on and it gradually cleared up and is now nearly spot free. My face looks healthy and smooth. I am liking this serum and it has become a staple for me. If you get spots then I recommend trying this.

I was very excited to use this serum. I have combination/oily skin and often get the odd spot and shine.

This was a lovely addition to my skincare routine. I had been using a bha toner which I stopped using for the duration of this trial period. I applied this serum once a day after cleansing all over my face and neck. After letting the product settle in for a few minutes I followed with my daily moisturiser. This left a definite matte feeling on my skin but it was not at all dry, in fact it felt very smooth. I did get a couple of spots while using this, but that is nothing unusual for me so I wouldn’t say this caused it at all, in fact maybe my skin has been better? I’ll keep using this to determine :)

I was worried that with it being charcoal black it would leave a weird colour on my face, but it rubs in to nothing. I haven’t yet noticed and reduction in redness, but it isn’t worse, so that’s a good start for me!

All in all I really like this serum and would definitely purchase again.

I applied Garnier Active AHA + BHA Charcoal Anti-Blemish Serum twice a day, morning and evening, to a clean face for just about a month. Then I applied it all over the face with 3 small drops, then after I went with my usual skin care routine. It is a different colour than I would normally expect; it is a light black/grey solution, but it does not leave any dark residue. It absorbs relatively quickly. It did feel a little bit sticky at first, but it ends up with no residue on the skin and ends up feeling lovely. At first, I was a little bit concerned that it may dry out my skin because I know that AHA/BHA can cause irritation but I am pleasantly surprised that it is NOT the case with this product. I started noticing a change in my skin in about 2.5 weeks after I had been using it. I feel like this product absolutely changed my skin for the better. It cleared up my acne that I already had faster and felt like it helped to get fewer pimples. Overall, I really enjoyed using this product, and I would recommend it to anyone with problematic skin.
