Lush Plum Gel Review

I was offered a sample of this plum perfection by a good friend. Of course after deep sniffing it I couldn't resist. Upon first inhale of its fragrance I was instantly in love with the fruity sweetness with a touch of tartness. I wanted to draw hearts around it instantly!

It is a thick almost jelly gel. It is still able to be squeezed out easy enough but is thick for a shower gel. It is a dark purple/red colour which goes with the name Plum Rain perfectly. Upon squeezing it out, it has a life of its own at times and likes to wriggle its way down your arms but I find squirting it on my loofah stops that behavior.

Upon rubbing it over the body, it lathers up pretty quickly creating loads of flubbles all over my skin. It is both silky and creamy, making my skin feel so soft. The smell heightens once it is allowed to be lathered up on the body. The senses are awakened for sure when the fragrance fills the room.

This has to be one of my faves from the Lush shower gel range, and that's saying something. I do find one niggle with this gel though. The smell doesn't last long on my skin. It disappears within an hour of using it. Other gels that I love last a few hours but not this one. Maybe it's not as in your face as others but it's still beautiful. If you love fruity sweetness then this gel is definitely the go for you too.

Lie, I don't. I am too much in love with the smell of rain on hot concrete to want to change the smells Mother Nature has gifted us. Once I was able to get my hands on this gel, I bought 2, not knowing if I’d like it. But this stuff DOES smell amazing, so I’m glad I got 2, and I’m glad NZ now has it!

The gel itself is thick, but still squeezes out like it’s supposed to. It coats the hands in such a glorious purple that you don’t notice the smell, but when you do! It’s so good. I have no idea what an umeboshi is, or how to say it without being ignorant, but I can tell you that its inclusion in this gel is perfection. The smell is sweet, yet tart, and oh so fruity. It’s so amazing in the morning to wake me up, or at night when I’m having a purple party in the shower.

This stuff lathers like a dream, the smell lingers on my skin and it doesn’t dry my skin out. In fact it makes my skin feel lovely and moisturized. I will definitely be repurchasing this delight.

When Plum Rain came to NZ the hype was real . Every time I went to purchase it , it was sold out every time . Then opportunity to buy it came and I snatched the opportunity.

I got a decent sized bottle . Consistency is fluid deep purple . This scent reminds me of a sour plum rich but not sickly sweet . Very unique scent. Never smelled a scent like this before .

I like to lather this in the shower. It feels refreshing and uplifting. I feel clean and motivated to start my day . I use this in the morning as a get up and go . After showering my bathroom lingers with this beautiful scent . It doesn’t linger on my body too long though . My skin feels fresh and not dried out .

If your into a strong plum scent then definitely give this one a try . They offer tester demonstrations in store. I would buy this again without a doubt . I’m actually wishing I had purchased this in a body spray . Great for a gift idea or stocking filler . Definitely worth a try.

I really enjoyed using this purple liquid! It's beautiful colour btw. but the fragrance of the body wash is a bit weird.. like it's not too bad but it's not something id want to buy again!

but it's really good and gentle on the skin, and lasts quite long for the bottle it comes in, it's foamy and creamy and doesn't dry up your skin.

I bought a small bottle of this a while ago and it’s definitely one of my favourite body wash scents from Lush. I don’t necessarily think it smells like plums but it definitely smells fruity and fresh. It’s a purple gel in the traditional Lush squeezy bottle with the flip top cap. Even though I bought a small bottle (from memory there are 2 sizes) it lasted for about 6 weeks while using a small amount on a puff each day. The smell lingers on the skin but isn’t overwhelming like some of their scents can be. I found I didn’t need perfume as the fragrance of this gel was enough throughout the day. I will definitely purchase this again but probably in the mini size again.
