La Roche Posay Hyalu B5 Eye Serum

I was very excited about trying this one. Normally this would be over my budget. So was looking forward to seeing what a more expensive product was like. The first thing I noticed was the metal roller. When you use it to roll the product on, if you don't have enough product, it drags on your skin. It did this probably 75% of the 3 weeks I have been using it. It is also a firm pressure to roll it across. There was no scent, which was good as sometimes I get allergic to a lot of fragrances. When you put it on, it leaves a slight sticky feel to it once dry. I think it my skin under my eyes slightly hydrated. I don't think I would spend that money to buy it.

Overall this is a great product, if a little quirky. So if you're in to quirky eye serums; stick with me!

The glass dropper bottle is super cute, but colour me surprised when I opened it to find out the dropper dispenser has a metal ball on the end. It feels cooling and soothing on the eye area and is a nice touch. However, I'm not entirely sure you need the dropper itself seeing as how the product coats the ball and outside of the dispenser. So, love the applicator, unsure of the need for a dropper dispenser too.

The liquid is clear not blue. That's fine I can enjoy the smurf blue bottle every day.

So, you need to read the instructions here. If you don't this is what will happen. You'll apply it, probably too much of it, and it will feel sticky, tacky, gunky. Like it will not absorb.

Read the instructions and you learn you're not meant to use loads of product, you're supposed to distribute it round the eye area with the applicator and then YOU HAVE TO PAT IT IN. I've long since thrown out the box, but I'm pretty sure they use the word pat. As in lightly pat the excess product with your fingertips. It makes all of the difference.

Now I will not lie. There is a slight stickiness to the product, however that disappears under moisturiser or makeup, and if you don't put anything on top, sure it feels sticky, but it doesn't pil and it isnt visible, so yeah, it's just a bit...quirky.

The effects are where it's at though right? And this is a really effective product. I'm using this twice a day, the skin around my eyes is brighter, tighter and smoother. I look more awake and I think this is having a very positive impact on the fine lines.

I will look to repurchase, quirks n all!

I was lucky enough to be picked by BR to review this product! I am a fan of ground roots skincare, I really believe our skin and complexion starts with how well we look after and nourish it. I’ve been through a very stressful life period recently and had developed noticeable under eye bags to the point where I thought I should buy a good concealer. Instead, I started using this product and they’ve basically packed up and left my face :) I really like the format of this product. The metal roller ball applicator is really calming and relaxing to use. I avoid the eye area with my facial serum and reserve it for this lovely eye serum to do it’s good work. The packaging is what I like, simple and to the point, you know what you’re getting. The roller ball is very functional, my only gripe with it is that it inevitably drips a bit of product elsewhere when you’re applying it. The product itself feels thick and luxurious. Once you’ve massaged it in it is absorbed well by my skin and it feels comfortable to wear. I regret not taking a photo before I started using this product for a side by side comparison but I think my eye area is noticeably firmer and glowier (that’s a word right?). I’ve enjoyed using this product so much that it’s going to be added as a staple to my daily skincare routine. 5/5 would purchase in the future.

Nice basic packaging, easy to read instructions and pictures inside the box. A glass bottle with a glass dropper when you change the top over. The dropper has a silver ball that rolls when you use it, the only problem I have with that is the blue non fragrant runny serum runs down the glass tube and drops down my cheek, so I haven’t really used the dropper to suck some serum up as I find more than enough comes down the outside of the dropper, when I use the ball to smear it around it’s absolutely lovely nice and cold and soothing. ( I really don’t like the amount of serum that runs down the dropper, only once have I squeezed any serum up) so I use the tube to rub some serum around on my eye area then use the ball to massage it in.

I do feel a bit sticky where I have used the serum around my eyes, but I’ve faithfully been applying this morning and night. My make up goes on unaffected as does my mascara etc

I’m at the age where I have loads of crinkle thin skin around my eye’s a criss cross affect of dry creepiness, definitely a tell tell sign of age and a bit of darker shadowing around my eye area closer to the nose so a semi dark circle.

I’d actually quit on eye creams and serums about 6 months ago, as I wasn’t really getting results worth mentioning, so blow me down quite a bit of improvement in my eye area I’d say for me hydration is important as it plumps the skin out making the wrinkles less. It’s also like a wake my eye area up a bit brighter.

For me using this day and night I do have some results so pleased with the skin texture I feel it’s bouncier dare I say stronger. So a very nice serum and no stinging when it gets in your eye lol. The only down fall for me is the serum running down the dropper on the out side .

This is a winner for results not application applicator :) This bottle looks like it will last a long time as I’ve hardly made a dent in it, so feeling value for my money, I’d definitely buy this again.

I have tried a few La Roche Pisay products now and have not been let down yet. Packaging is nice and sturdy- I liked that the bottle is see through, the dropper is a good size, functions well and distributes an even amount of product (would suggest tapping the side off before you apply to avoid drips). The roller is a nice touch- love the cool feeling under my eyes.

The product itself is nice, no weird chemically smell, isn't too "thick", absorbs into the skin well and sits nicely under makeup (I did pat into the skin after rolling to really work the product in before applying makeup).

Results? I used both day and night for several weeks and by day 8/9 I definitely noticed that my under eyes looked less crepey and my makeup has been sitting better- particularly when I conceal under my eyes.

I will purchase this- I think there are potentially better products out there but bang for buck and longevity I think this is really good and am definitely impressed.

I was lucky to receive this as part of a trial team. Like other La Roche Posay products I have tried the eye serums packaging was simple but sleek, I do like their style. The applicator was a droplet wand with a rollerball on the end, the idea being you squeeze a small amount of product into the wand, wipe off the excess and apply the serum to your skin.

Firstly, the positives. I do like a rollerball applicator and found it cooling against my skin, which helped with puffiness around my eyes in the morning. The serum itself didn’t appear to have much of a fragrance and was a lightweight liquid which felt very hydrating against the skin. I do agree the serum made my skin feel nourished and more radiant.

The downside? I really disliked the applicator. I felt like it took up too much product and even with wiping off the excess I still got drops of it coming off the wand and I felt it ended up using more serum than needed. I’m also not a fan of using the rollerball on my skin and then dipping it back into the remaining serum, it feels less hygienic to me.

I wouldn’t purchase this myself but if the applicator didn’t sound like an issue for you then the serum itself is nice enough and it is an affordable option for an eye product.

I really like this product. The roller is really nice and smooth on my skin and it doesn't feel like it drags my skin when I roll it along. The syrum it's self is lovely and thin and soaks into my skin really well and I don't feel like there's a residue left on top of my skin afterwards. I havent really seen any results around my eyes but I definitely notice my eyes get less puffy very quickly in the morning after using it, they usually take about half an hour to de-puff but after using this serum it's about 10 mins. I will keep using this product and will come back with an updated review if I see any results.

I have been using La Roche-Posay Hyalu B5 Eye Serum for about two weeks now. I can definitely feel the difference. I can feel my skin around my eyes are tighter, and plump. I can also see less puff and wrinkles. Will definitely use them again.

This product was something I was excited for as love the idea of cooling products for the eyes and am a huge fan of the cooling gel under eye patches.

Unfortunately that’s where a lot of my excitement for the product ends as I don’t feel like it’s any better then any of the other eye serum products on the market and I didn’t notice any huge difference in my under eyes.

That being said it’s a very nice consistency, the little ball is cooling but seems a little like a gimmick.

The product absorbs very quickly, does not leave any sticky residue and does not seem To react badly to any of my other products.

Pros - product absorbs really quickly - is not fragranced

- alot of product comes out of the dropper while your trying to apply it

A cute wee package with a very clinical look, La Roche Posay keeps its simple straight to the point, with its no fuss “look at me” branding and direct box, A glass vial with a interesting dropper greets me and so does my expectation of something great. Applying is very easy, use minimal amounts and it will last forever, the texture is somewhat silky, and the eye dropper design gives you just enough to give that fresh look. It doesn’t take long for the cooling effect to begin to kick in, that I thought, hey this might actually work, within a couple of hours the puffiness of below my eyes were begining to leave and the darker circles started to fade, using every day for the last week and a bit has dramatically reduce the appearance of overworked and over tired eyes, the cooling sensation is welcomed and I actually look forward to my morning routine of applying, There is nothing bad to say about this product I think they’ve really achieved something great! There is no smell, no greasy after feel and wow I am so impressed !
