The remover is a nice size to hold and use, even for someone like me with small hands. Curved shape allows you to hold and manoeuvre around the body. I was surprised at how well this worked, It doesn't hurt when using and would be a handy way to remove hair if in a hurry. I could see a light white colour where I had used the remover and could feel the skin was getting smooth. Was a good way to also buff away dry skin. I wiped the remover as I went along. Needed to take a bit more care when doing the ankle and knee area as it is rough. I noticed my skin was very tender after using the first time. I am not sure if it was because of the first time using this type of hair removal. It is easy to rinse clean afterwards.

Reviews
I have been using a combo of shaving and laser hair removal so was excited to see the Manicare Crystal hair remover as another potentional option as I find shaving in between treatments annoying.
I used the Manicare Crystal Hair Remover as per the directions on the packet - used on dry skin after having a shower and used twice in then space of a week. The packaging advises not to use on delicate areas of the body so is not recommended for underarms or to maintain the Braz. The claim is 'uses premium ultra-fine Crystal technology to help buff away body hair and dead skin cells'
The item comes in a cute Lilac colour and is perfectly shaped to fit directly in one hand. It is comfortable to hold and use. To remove the hair you move the crystal hair remover in circular motions in the area you are wanting to treat. I found it difficult to know the right amount of pressure to apply in order to remove the unwanted hair and as a result have ended up with skin irritation. The packaging advised of light pressure however I found myself almost scrubbing as some of the hair seemed stubborn and wouldn't remove.
I found this to only work on flat areas so would be great for legs, arms and back if you wish to treat those areas. The length of time before the hair grew back was the same as shaving (for me 1- 2 days). However the area felt much smoother for a little longer than shaving does.
Product maintenance is easy- a quick rinse after use to wash away the hair on the product.
Overall I am not sure that this will be used regularly in my household. It almost needed to have a curved tip so that it could be used all over the body and not just on flat areas. It was difficult trying to use product around ankles and knee areas.
This was pretty good at getting rid of the dead skin on my legs and arms, so I'd use it for that. Not sure I'd use it for getting rid of my hair though. Definitely not a bad product though! I would recommend people give it a go and see how they like it.
I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical when this turned up and I took a good look at it, I thought there was no way it would work on my leg hairs after 16+ years of shaving.
My legs only had a few days of growth when this arrived but thought it give it a go anyway - I washed them in the shower then thoroughly dried them before using the tool in circular motions - it actually worked and left my legs feeling super smooth.
I also thought I'd try it on my arms - which I dont usually use any form of hair removal on so the hair is very fine - unfortunately although it worked, it left my skin feeling grazed and a bit sore so I probably would stick to using this on my legs only.
This would be great for those who aren't sensitive when you need a dry form of hair removal and dont have time to shower etc beforehand.
One improvement I would suggest is some sort of case for storage - the packaging it comes in isnt suitable to be kept long term and the crystal side of the tool could easy scratch some items/surfaces
Let me start out by saying I have normal skin, both face and body. I am pretty lucky and don't have any issues with shaving or waxing etc. I was excited to try this, especially the fact that it was going to buff my skin at the same time.
Firstly, I am not convinced it was 100% pain free, and it wasn't quick. I tried this on my arms first, and it sort of caught on the tiny hairs and would pull at them, rather than removing them. I changed angles, but still had similar issues. It also took a really long time, and I think this created further issues for me. It took so long I actually think it ended up removing layers of skin. I found my skin to be quite sore to the touch in the days following, almost as if had been sunburned.
I did like how smooth it left my skin, but that only lasted for the one day.
I tried using it to get my arms as smooth as possible, and then I tried it one week later to see if it would get the tiny hairs, which it did not.
Tips: It looks smooth and sleek, but honestly I think shaving is a lot faster, and doesn't leave my skin feeling stingy. I liked how smooth my skin felt, but an exfoliant does the same thing. I am sad it didn't work out for me in the way I had hoped, but it may work for some people, perhaps those with a different kind of hair type.
I received the Lilac option which is a very pretty purple. The remover has an ergonomic heart-like shape and even though it's smooth and not rubbery it doesn't slip out of the hand. After use, it's suggested to store in the cardboard packaging it came in - I get it's more environmentally friendly, but that's probably not going to outlast the remover itself.
Does it work? Yes. Although my lower legs became incredibly itchy a day after use (perhaps I did not use enough moisturiser), other areas did not have the same problem. The skin is left silky smooth. It does take longer than shaving, but not having to do it in the shower is a bonus. It also gives a great exfoliation. I found that this works best on short hairs and slightly longer, fine hairs. I tested a patch on my husband's leg and it took a lot longer to work.
I'll keep using this, but make sure I slather in moisturiser in the future.
Tips: Be very, very gentle, as you're basically sandpapering your skin and hair.
The hair remover fits well in my hand and is super easy to use. I found the results worked best on my legs, and it is too difficult to remove armpit hair. I normally shave my legs every night in the shower with a blade, but Manicare Crystal Hair Remover seems to work better and I can get away with shave my legs once or twice a week. What I enjoyed most was trying it on my upper lip! It did an amazingly good job without all the pain of waxing or tweezing. That alone is worth buying this.
Tips: Use a warm flannel to remove the white chalky residue after use.
Stoked to have been selected for this trial. Have seen similar products on the market but got my chance to try it.
Received the Lilac purple shade. It looks cute. Followed the instructions on the box and attempted to use. I had not hair removed my arms so there was a lot to work with. It didn't pull on my arm hairs per se but did feel a bit like buffing it into non existence. I still have some hair in patches it's not completely smooth like I would have expected. Felt more like an exfoliating product than a hair remover.
As weird as this sounds, I like it for knuckle and toe hair removal. Easy and effective on these areas. I did try on my leg as it was normal regrowth from shaving. Appeared to perform better on shorter hairs.
Compared to my normal form of hair removal for my arms (depilatory cream) this didn't make the cut. It would be faster and less effort to use my other method than using the crystal hair remover.
Tips: May be better for just regrowth or smaller areas.
Interesting little gadget. Though it worked well don't be too eager and press to hard, kind of feels like carper burn afterwards. Learned my lesson and lighteninged up on the grip and from there it was smooth sailing. It does a good job of removing the hair, even the coarser hair on my legs. If you are in a hurry this might be a quick fix. Good for travelling as well, small enough to not take up too much space.
Going in to this review, I must admit I was very skeptical. But low and behold, the Manicare Crystal Hair Remover absolutely did what it was supposed to do. It removed my hair with very little effort! Unfortunately my skin must be just too sensitive as my legs were ON FIRE within around 30mins and i had to soothe them with a cold flannel. But if you're skin is generally pretty tolerant then I would definitely recommend giving one of these a try. Im disappointed that my skin reacted the way it did, but I will give it a try again in future and see if I have more success.
Tips: Just rub lightly in circles, not too much pressure. If you have sensitive skin I would defnitely recommend doing a patch test first and not going the whole hog like i did! Haha
