Not For Me.

The good things about this product are: affordability, it’s easy to use, no unpleasant odours, attractive packaging, my sensitive skin didn’t react and it’s a good sized bottle. Plus my skin does feel lovely and soft. But did it remove my make up properly? No. It was particularly ineffective on eye make up. Did my skin feel refreshed & fully cleansed? No. My skin felt like it had a plastic coating on it after I used Garnier’s Micellar Milky Water and I’ve had a major breakout. At 47 my days of pimples & spots should be well behind me. Is one cotton pad enough? No. I don’t use heavy make up & even on no make up days I was using 2-3 pads before they showed no signs of make up and following up with eye make up remover to remove mascara properly. Overall this product feels like a waste of time and money and I’ll be sticking to a cleanser, water & clean face cloth.

Tips: I can see how Garnier Micellar Cleansing Milky Water would be ideal as a pre-cleanse softner for someone who uses a full face of make up but I wouldn’t rely on it to remove all traces of that make up.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Milky Water

I have tried a few Micellar cleaning waters and have to say I prefer the milky consistency of the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Milky Water. I found it to effectively remove my makeup with no irritation to my dry sensitive skin but unfortunately it did cause irritation to my eyes meaning I needed to use a separate eye makeup remover. Personally I like to be able to use one product to do the lot so it won't be at the top of my list for future purchase

Must have staple

I've used the Garnier Micellar Cleansing water for sensitive skin (different version) and I used it right to the last drop. The only comment I have for it was that I still needed to use a moisturizer after. I was excited to try the Milky water version because I have read that it is moisturizing, the missing puzzle to the sensitive skin version.

For anyone that hasn't tried the product, or hasn't tried micellar water, it's like water, but with the capability yo remove makeup and dirt while leaving the skin feeling fresh. Very easy to use. There are many ways I'm sure, but the method I use is to dampen a cotton pad with the cleansing water and wipe my face and neck. When I say wipe, it's not in a pulling motion, basically gliding the cotton pad along the face and it will EASILY remove makeup and residue. So amazing. Usually with other products a bit of effort must be put into removing makeup but noooo I love this.

The bottle is an okay size. I say okay, because I like to travel a lot and so I would either be carrying around a big 400ml bottle which is over kill, or I must transfer the contents to a smaller portable size. Easy enough. I did see online there are smaller bottle sizes, around 120ml but not yet for the Milky version.

I used this for one week, every evening after work. One cotton pad. Job done. It hasn't made any impact of the contents of the bottle yet. It should last about 3 months.

I will 100% buy this product. It is now a must have in my bathroom. I have already recommended to my sister and my mother who both have dry skin. Thumbs up.

Tips: Although not necessary, I like to use this with a cotton pad. Makes the process so easy and no product waste.

It worked

I was a bit nervous about using this products as I have reacted to several Garnier products in the past. However, I didn't have any issues with it reacting. It did what it said it would but I think I do prefer others over this one and maybe that is just due to Garnier products not being so suitable to my skin type as other products.

The Garnier Micellar Cleansing Milky Water did remove all my makeup gently with just a few wipes and left my skin feeling clean.

I am so impressed

I have wanted to love Micellar before, but unfortunately in the past my skin has been left incredibly dry and red from it. Not Anymore!

This stuff is amazing. I used after washing my face with water in the shower, so you think it would be mostly clean right? However the cotton pad turned black the first day. I was horrified! However with twice daily use it has improved heaps. I use in the morning after my shower before putting my moisturizer or bb cream on and at the end of the day before my night cream. I have trialled it for a week now and my skin looks and feels amazing. I don't think I will use anything else now.

It is thicker than micellar i have used in the past, its very similar to milk consistency as it says. It has little to no smell. It did sting a little when I got some in my eye but it quickly stopped and it wasn't unbearable.

I would definitely recommend to everyone with dry sensitive skin

Not my favourite Micellar cleanser

I was excited to try the new Cleansing Milky water Micellar from Garnier. Unfortunately I really don't like it for several reasons, which will become clear. The bottle shows a milky liquid, but when you try and tip it out, it is very thick and viscous, in fact it doesn't even soak into a cotton pad, it just sits on the top of the pad and you have to quickly get it to your face without it dribbling off. It also seems to soak into your skin and although it does remove the makeup it also leaves a slightly sticky residue, which feels a bit unpleasant. The worst aspect of it, dare I say it, that without being crass , it does remind me of some sort of bodily fluids and I just can't get past this to use it regularly on my face .As soon as I used it , I read some other reviews, I noticed a couple of other people had thought the same about it. It may sound silly but I can't get past the way it looks and that together with it soaking into the skin and having to rinse it off, I really didn't like this product .

Moisturising Cleanser

The packaging is very plain. It doesn’t come in a fancy box or have any added plastic like many products have. I’m happy with that and the plastic container can be recycled.

This cleanser is designed to be used with a cotton pad and says you don’t need to rinse. I used this product as directed, but after cleansing I really still felt that I wanted to rinse my face. It certainly seems to remove all my make up which is great, but my face felt a bit sticky after the cleansing process. I really didn’t want to add my night moisturiser over this until I’d rinsed my face.

On the plus side if you happen to be travelling, it would be easy to just use a cotton pad to cleanse you’re face. I’m not too keen on using the cleanser as directed, simply because it would mean using two cotton pads per day, for cleansing morning and night. As we are all becoming more aware of how much waste we produce, I don’t feel it’s very environmentally friendly to be throwing two cotton pads away per day. For me that means, 14 cotton pads per week going to landfill. If you would normally use a cleanser and a make up remover, then it’s a great idea, as you can just use this one product now.

It certainly made my skin feel clean, without drying it out.

I would use this cleanser again, but for me personally I would cleanse and then rinse off, without throwing extra cotton pads into the rubbish. I would use a cotton pad to remove waterproof mascara and eyeliner.

Great for dry dehydrated skin!

This was a gorgeous milky micellar cleanser which was felt so good on my parched skin. I didn't find any sticky residue after. Because I wear some pretty heavy coverage foundation, I need to double cleanse everyday i.e. I follow up with a secondary (usually foam) cleanser. While I would say that this didn't remove all my makeup to my liking, this would be perfect who doesn't use a lot of heavy makeup/foundation. This was also pretty good on lip and eye makeup, you just have to make sure you soak your cotton pad thoroughly before wiping.

Overall this is a very handy product that I'd recommend to all my dry-skinned friends out there who use tinted moisturiser/BB creams and want something gentle but effective to remove it.

Tips: I would soak my cotton pads with the product and just lay it over my face for a few minutes. This was really calming, like putting on a sheet mask!

Don’t like micellar water

I keep getting these micellar water products in my beauty subscription boxes, this one came from my June Makeup Obsessives box and I got a full size 400ml one. I use these up when I wear eyeshadow or a lot of foundation/powder on my face, but I still use my cream cleanser after and wash with warm water, just don’t double-cleanse, so to me these just take most of my makeup off first before cleansing as usual. I use cotton pads with this, so it’s a bit of a waste as well, to me these micellar water products are all duds really, I don’t know why we have them in the first place or why anyone would just use a cotton pad soaked in this and not rinse the face off with water? The milky texture is nice though and it doesn’t irritate or sting my skin, it is not drying, but I use my other face care products straight after, so not sure how it would be without a moisturiser afterwards. It might be just me, but I prefer a cream cleanser with a washable washcloth.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Milky Water

Very generous 400ml size bottle with flip top for easy use (i would worry about the lid lifting if thrown in my gym bag). As a full time working mother of 3 teenagers, i have to have a quick and easy regime at the end of the day to remove my make up.. I love the 'lazy girl method' of removing my make up in front of the telly or in bed by using the versatility of micellar water and make up wipes. As we head into the cooler seasons with the frequent use of heatpumps my skin can become more sensitive with itchiness and dryness prevalent. I found the soothing cooling milky texture of the micellar milky cleanser felt lovely - a little bit went a long and did do a good job of removing my make up. I did feel I had to repeat the process using about 3 cotton pads and I did feel that I wanted to 'rinse off ' afterwards due to the milky texture feeling similar to a cleansing lotion. I found this product was more suitable for use on a Sunday light makeup for quick and easy removal as I found I needed too much product for a weekday full make up. I did find the taste left on my lips a little offensive as the micellar I use presently is tasteless and doesn't sting around my eyes at all. A great addition to the range of fabulous Garnier micellar waters.

Tips: You really don't need to use much as a little bit goes a long way - it just doesn't soak into the cotton squares as fully as water does.
