Lush Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter Softens hard skin all over the body, especially the cuticles. We made Lemony Flutter to soften your cuticles; it’s our thickest cream out there. It’s so good at softening your cuticles and nourishing your nails that Lush customers have been using it to soften and nourish lots of other body parts like their feet, elbows and knees. Fortunately, it’s a very reasonably priced cream, so you can afford to use it as widely as you wish. Take more care of your extremities and invest a small sum in a Lemony pot.

Lemony Flutter Bitter Citrus Butter for Rough Skin

I got this in the Boxing Day Sales half price and I'm amazed at how long one little 50g pot has lasted me when using daily. I don't just use this on my cuticles but on my feet, knees and elbows and hands at night. I am a pretty active person and workout, walk and get down on my knees for cleaning and doing pilates and some yoga stretches. I put this nightly on my knees and it keeps my knees from getting those dreaded white and grey patches. Also it's kept calluses soft on my feet and kept my elbows from discoloration. It has a bitter citrus scent which is fine, not my fave but not bad either. I've been using this daily for the past few months and I've just only now hit the bottom. I love that Lush uses natural ingredients in it. I would repurchase this as it's a good butter for all the rough skin on your body, but I think I would probably prefer to use a foot cream on my feet as that would be best.

Tips: Good for all anywhere that tends to get callused on your body - knees, elbows and feet, also good for hands overnight. This is a really thick butter so you only need a tiny amount and one pot will last you a long time. Once you're finished the pot, clean it out and keep it till have 5 to trade in for a free face masque.

For a great Citrus Hit

This was a lush product I had wanted for the longest time simply because I have a wee addiction to hand creams and I loved the name of this one. Honestly, I put off purchasing it because of the price. $20 for a small tub of hand cream was enough to make anyone cringe but one day, I closed my eyes and brought it anyway (making sure I never looked at the receipt, or the bank transaction).

This hand cream comes in a small lush black tub. It quite flat, black and has a screw off lid. I think this tub might be included in Lush’s recycling scheme but I would need to double check.

As soon as you open the lid, you can smell a delicious citrus scent, and its smells lemony and amazing. I’m not a huge fan of lemon, but it just smells so good in this product. This hand cream is really a hand butter (like the title says), and it is a solid product, even more solid then TBS body butter (just to give you a comparison).

I use my fingers to scoop a little out (you don’t need much..which make the $20 price seem more reasonable), and massage it all over my hands. I find that is melts down like oil but also feels slightly waxy at the same time. It does take awhile to absorb, but once it does my hands do feel super soft. However, the effects don’t seem be long lasting and I had to reapply often.

Personally, I don’t know if I would pay full price for this again, but it still is a nice product from Lush. It did soften my cuticles, but my nails don't seem any more nourished. Will update if I see a change though

Hullo strong nails!

Recently I had the misfortune of having flaking and splitting nails due to a certain gel polish top coat. I usually use a rosehip oil rubbed in to my cuticles to help my nails grow harder but this time I needed something a bit more hardy. That is when I decided to try the Lush Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter.

I got the 50g container for $19.99 which honestly is huge and lasts for such a long while so pays for itself really. It comes in the familiar Lush black container with all the need to know information. I love the fact that the containers are 100% recycled plastic which you could reuse or take it back to be recycled again. I love the clean green image that Lush has. The Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter itself is thick and butter yellow. It's almost like a thick paste like substance. It is very lemon smelling which is a scent I love so can't get enough of it. You only need a tiny bit for each cuticle so use sparingly.

I rub the butter in to my cuticles for a good ten seconds each nail. I made sure that I massage it right in to get the best results. Since using it, which has been about 3 months now, my nails are two times stronger than before and flake less. Before my nails would break just by getting dressed but since using this I may have broken two nails in the whole three months. This is a huge leap forward from one a week before this.

I have been using this on my knees as well. My knees are very hard and callused from too many horsey rides for my son. I put this on them twice a week and my knees feel like the rest of my legs now......smooooth! It really is that great and I would recommend it to anyone who has brittle nails, scaly knees or ashy elbows. It clears up dry skin in a matter of a couple of weeks. Go on you know you want to.

Tips: Use on any dry skin not just for nails

Excellent Cuticle Cream

I was lucky enough to receive this as a gift from a fellow beauty reviewer a couple of years back and believe it or not I still have a wee bit left! Simple to say a little goes a long way here. It is delicious and thick - exactly what a cuticle cream should be. I note many people commenting on how it is very greasy but I think it is important to note that it is first and foremost a cuticle cream and only a tiny amount should be applied to the cuticles. If you are looking for a hand cream then look elsewhere. As far as a cuticle cream goes you can't beat it. I use this every time I file and paint my nails which is weekly and my cuticles are as good as it gets. Love this product and love the unique lemony scent.

Tips: Tiny amount just on the cuticles/nail bed after a file. A little goes a long way!

Talk about thick

I love the thickness, the scent (mmm lemons) and that a little goes a long way so it lasts ages...but unfortunately that's about where it stopped with this product.

I prefer a thick cream for my hands and cuticles, but this product left me very greasy so it was almost impossible to use this during the day. I would find things slipping from my hands and fluff sticking to wherever i applied it, gah!

I also didn't notice any softening of my dry elbows and hands, nor any benefit to my cuticles.

I have to say this was a miss for me.

Lemony Flutter

I was lucky enough to receive this as a Christmas gift from one of my younger brothers a couple of years ago and have repurchased a few times since. The tub goes a very long way as it's a very thick cream/balm and you only need a small dab on each nail to get a generous coverage. It is a really greasy formula, I apply it when I'm ready to snuggle down and turn the lights out at night so I can let it soak in and work it's magic. The lemony scent is really beautiful, I sometimes find citrus scented products can smell a bit like detergent but this doesn't at all.

Tips: I tend to get super dry elbows and knees in the colder months that a thin layer of Lemony Flutter has managed to banish

Love the fragrance

The lovely lush ladies said this will help my dry hands, nails and feet. I kept it at work to start with so I would remember to use it. I found it way to greasy. I was on computers all day and it made the keys all yuck. So I gave up using it there and brought home. I kept it next to the bed. I found I didn't mine the oily feel then.

Now it didn't make my hands or cuticles soft at all. I found when I was using it at work it made my face oily when holding the phone up to it and it would break me out.

I have recently found it again and tried again to love it and I just couldn't. So I've tipped the cream out.

Tips: Keep the tubs so you can get the free face mask

Buttery Beauty.

I picked up this beauty when Lush was discounting stock after Christmas, and I'm so glad I did. It had never caught my eye before, but with a discount and a delicious lemon scent, I couldn't leave it behind. I will now be back to pay full price for this product.

This is an incredibly thick, buttery formula that melts into the skin. It is a butter/balm, not a cream. This makes it perfect for particularly dry areas as it absorbs well, but is thick enough to last. It is very nourishing and luxurious, and almost leaves you feeling like you have been at the spa. Application of this product is perfect after a shower, before bed, or in a moment of downtime, as it will leave you a little greasy. Like almost every Lush product, the scent is strong, but it is personally one of my favourites. If you want something without a scent, you will be better heading in the direction of the Trilogy Everything Balm.

A little goes a very long way with this product, however because Lush does have a shorter expiry on their products, I used this generously. I would use it around my fingertips and cuticles during the day, as an all over hand cream before bed, and on my shins where I get dry patches that show up when I fake tan. I actually found the shorter expiry a really good motivation to address my cuticles, as it is an area that I would often put off until 'tomorrow.'

I will be repurchasing this product next time I am near a Lush store. It suits my needs perfectly, as I would rather use an intensive product less often, than a basic moisturiser twice a day.

Tips: Don't be limited by the name 'cuticle butter.' This can be applied to any dry area - heels, knees, shins, elbows etc.

Lemony Lush Loveliness

I picked this up a while ago before travelling. There is something really relaxing about pampering when you are on a plane to a lovely location. I hardly ever look after my cuticles so when you are trapped on a plane seems like a good time for me. I picked this up in a tiny wee 10g pot which is perfect for popping in your handbag.

The packaging is super simple like all the Lush products. It comes in a wee black tub with a screw on lid. I love the size of this for popping in your bag.

The product itself is an incredible thick cream (great that it isn't going to leak all over everything). It smells very lemony but just a wee touch like dishwashing liquid so it isn't my favourite scent. You only need the tiniest bit of this to rub into your nail beds. As it warms up it melts into more of an oil consistency. Because you only need such a small amount I feel like even my tiny wee tub will last me a lifetime. It is a lovely product although I don't know if it really does anything different than what a thick hand-cream would do in that area (eg the Body Shop Hemp Hand Protector).

for travelling etc i love the Nivea Soft cream because it's a neutral scent, but I have a Body Shop mango hand cream I absolutely adore too!

Totally agree Trudijoy you can use any thick cream. Especially if you decant the thick cream into a small pottle. I imagine that the Body Shop Body Butters would be excellent.

great review - I got put off this by the artificial lemony scent and so haven't really tried it - good to know what is does and that my suspicions of it being interchangeable with any thick, decent cream are probably on point!

Lemony lemon

To start of I suffer with splits on my hands at the end of my fingers also my feet and heels they are very sore also unsightly. Trying to keep a plaster on the end of my thumb with keeping it looking nice is hard, I do find that having a plaster softens the skin and stops the continuous little twangs of pain.

This was recommended, so off to lush to get my wee pot of lemony goodness to cure my dry cracked skin. This comes in a black plastic tub 50gms of a thick cream, lemon in colour lemon scented so much so I was scared to try it I case it stung like lemon juice, but no it was fine. This is a thick non waxy cream with a soft texture. It just melted into my skin when applied, this left me greasy but no stinging whew.

I applied this throughout the day, also when I jumped into bed I rubbed this into my hands and feet working it extra carefully into all my wee cracks, dry areas anywhere that needed some love. Smells nice, feels divine that's where it stopped for me I didn't get any softening with my splits no healing I did get a little more moisturising in the drier areas though. It was nice to try as I didn't get any improvement with my split fingers I won't repurchase.
