I bought two pots of this in the Lush Boxing Day sales. This cream is more like a thick butter for your hands, at the time of this review it's the thickest hand cream that Lush offers. Nut butters - cashew butter, almond butter and even organic peanut butter feature in this herbal hand butter. Other natural ingredients include rose water, shea butter, glycerine, almond oil, fresh lemon juice, vanilla absolute, blue chamomile oil, evening primrose oil, pumpkinseed butter and oak moss extract. It smells herbal and slightly nutty to me. It has little dots in it that look like vanilla seeds from the vanilla pods. Because it's so thick you only need a tiny bit. One pot lasts me for ages. If you apply it all over your hands during the day it is does take a well to sink in but I find that this works best when just a tiny bit is applied to the back of my hands to seal in moisture. I have this sitting on my desk next to my computer for just that so I can remember to use it. I don't reach for it as often as the other tube of hand cream sitting next to it since the tube one absorbs faster and doesn't get my keyboard as greasy. But it is nice if you are after a natural hand butter. My hands need something more substantial before bed because my skin is prone to eczema but it would be a good nighttime hand cream for most people. I would consider repurchasing this, especially if it is half off in the Boxing Day Sales.

Lush Handy Gurugu Review
Lush Handy Gurugu Our thickest, richest, most luxurious hand cream is lovingly made with hand blended organic Shea, cashew, almond and pumpkin seed butters and soothing essential oils to moisturize dry, sore hands. Our heaviest hand cream, it contains over 25% Shea butter. Our creative buying team travelled for many hours in Ghana to locate a women’s cooperative to find the freshest, loveliest, and most fragrant Shea butter that we (and now you), could get their hands on. It’s a truly fabulous, easily absorbed hand cream that leaves you with soft, herbal-scented hands.

Tips: Don't go for this if you are allergic to cashews, almonds or peanuts. It is greasy and heavy as a hand cream during the day but it works really well using a bit on the back of my hands or I spread it all over my hands before I workout. It does last a really long time so even if you pay full price it's a good deal but if you can get it in the Boxing Day sales it's even better.
I try my hardest to have nice looking hands so I'm forever using hand creams but at Calving my hands dry out at the word "calving" and by dry out I mean my hands look like the skin of a crocodile and then the skin on my fingers split open leaving my digits very sore and fragile. So I'm always looking for heavy duty creams yes I will admit to using udder cream that is meant for cows but I need more heavy duty than that. (And something more girly smelling) so looking through recent reviews I stumbled across worldofsooziewong's fantastic review of this, so off I went to the Lush website and placed an order.
This comes in the signature Lush black tub with the white label it's a decent 100g pot. The lid is easy to hold onto and easy to screw back on with slippery hands. The colour of this is like a very pale light green it's quite pretty. It does take a while to absorb and your hands do feel a bit oily for a while afterwards. The scent is a bit herbal-y it's not unpleasant but it doesn't have me wanting to lick my hands because it smells so good. (Probably a good thing?) This cream is very thick, you only need to use a little bit. However at night time I use a good amount and use it like a mask the first night I did it I was amazed at how moisturised and soft my hands were the next morning it was like a miracle. I have never had such a huge difference to the look and feel of my hands overnight. The little Knicks in my hands had healed up nicely too. It also acts like a bit of a barrier cream and I notice it protects my hands when they're wet.
The other thing that impresses me with this is it doesn't sting when you apply it even when it gets in open cuts it doesn't sting! Hurray!! I have been using this daily and heavily at night and have noticed a huge difference to my hands it really has been a miracle product for me. Love it and will have to buy more
Tips: I used this on my feet to and oh my they were amazing and soft
I suffer from Contact Dermatitis on my hands and every winter it gets bad. Itchy and peely. I tried this magic pot of gold last winter and I haven't been able to go without it! It is a thick and creamy consistency and also feels as though it acts as bit of a barrier for your hands. I found it doesn't take too long to sink in, if you apply lightly. I use it through out the day as well as a thicker application at night. As it is so thick you only use a small amount, so the pottle lasts me a decent amount of time. My hands have improved since I started using this hand cream and I don't think I can use another!
Tips: I de-potted a small amount into a smaller container, to keep in my handbag rather than take the whole tub.
This is a heavy duty hand cream. It comes in the standard black Lush tub -make sure you save your empties and take five back to Lush to exchange for a free face mask. It's is very thick and cream coloured. It has a fresh, herbal smell. I would describe it as a 'green' smell that you get with natural products. Some might not like the smell but I find it quite pleasant.
As the cream is so thick and obviously contains oils, you only need a very small amount for both hands. It does take a wee while to sink in. I find it is best used at night so your hands aren't slippery after using it and you wake up to beautifully soft hands. Even when my hands are sore and dry, this will sort them out overnight.
I am prone to eczema on my hands. Not only does this cream not aggravate it, I believe it also keeps it under control. One tub usually lasts me about six months of using it at night and topping up with other hand creams during the day. I just went to repurchase it and Lush is currently out of stock. I thought I would just make do with the 'daytime' hand creams in my stash. I have really noticed the difference in my hands, especially with the colder weather. Nothing else can sort them out like this stuff can. I can't wait until it's back in stock and will continue to repurchase.
Tips: Best used at nights and by anyone whose hands taking a battering from frequent washing, gardening etc.
As someone with disgustingly chronic sweaty palms in summer and dry cracked palms in winter, I really don't like using hand creams. However this one is a game changer. It's packed full of butters and oils and smells pretty good too. When I was working in a place where my hands were in and out of detergent filled water half the time, it was a relief to slather this on before I went to be, safe in the knowledge that my hands were in good hands. I still use it as a night cream now (one pot lasts for ages - it's so thick that you only need to use a little at a time) and it's wonderful in all seasons. I'd recommend this product for people whose hands are really put to work, as this is the perfect way to help them recover and stay soft and moisturized. My cousin has exfoliative keratolysis (peeling skin on the hands) and has found that this helps keep it under control.
Tips: Keep your pot! Take five black pots back to a lush store and you get a free face mask!
