I got this in an Oasis mystery box, I've not had a lot of luck with their facial moisturisers so wasn't to sure what to expect. It comes in a pink and black tube with a flip top lid, I love the packaging.
It is a thick white consistency and smells ok, it's more of an earthy scent. It is targeted towards dry skin which I have, the box states it packs a power punch of natural nourishment for dry skin leaving it healthy and radiant. It also contains a non whitening SPF.
I applied this after cleansing my face, it felt so thick and took me ages to rub in. I don't know what it is about Oasis moisturisers but I hate how I can feel them on my face. I'm wondering if it is because of the SPF. My BB cream sat ok on top but my skin just felt heavy and in this hot weather that is not what I want.
So for me it did not work, my skin prefers something light so it can breathe and this is too thick for me.
Usually I use Apple A Day by Oasis Beauty but seeing as I’m living in a house with a fireplace this year, I decided to try something a bit more moisturising for over the cooler months when I know my skin will be on the drier side. Power Punch has a wonderful luscious consistency with a nice subtle fresh “natural” scent much like the other moisturisers from the brand that I have tried. I do notice it tends to go on with a bit of a white cast and sit on the skin for a bit longer than Apple A Day so I tend to try and do my skincare as soon as I wake up to give it time to absorb and settle. I love the packaging being a simple tube, it makes getting the perfect amount out easy and I know I can scrape out every last little smidge of product. So far it’s been brilliant, my skin hasn’t been as dry or blotchy as it usually would be this time of year.
Tips: Skincare first thing in the morning to give Power Punch time to really absorb! I know when I first tried Oasis SPF products I was a bit thrown by the white cast it has until it’s settled into the skin
I read good reviews on this but decided it was not for me, the smell put me off and it was too sticky and creamy. Really good natural ingredients though, and the SPF25 factor was a plus. Didn't like the pump, prefer a cap on tube.
I read the reviews and thought "that's the one to try". So I went and got a sample. There weren't any pre packaged ones available, but the lovely lady put some in a wee pot for me from the tester. I'm really glad I got a sample and didn't purchase. I so wanted to love this cream. On paper, it ticks all the boxes, and coupled with the positive reviews here, it sure is a winner for most. But, it just didn't do anything for me. The texture is quite thick and it is white in colour. The smell is pleasant and light, slightly 'apple-y' to my nose. My skin is classed as mature, although wrinkles aren't an issue, yet lol. And it's sensitive. The product didn't absorb at all, and initially made my makeup sit on my skin and appear quite obvious. Once I worked oit that it was this product, I stopped using it on work days and saved it for the weekend. Using it without makeup, Ican see that there is a film over my skin, and my pores are filled with white cream, that doesn't rub in. I'm guessing that it's the zinc. My skin is olive with red from a skin condition, and maybe that's why it stands out so much? While it didn't irritate my skin at all, and it was nice to know that I had good sun protection, the way it made my skin appear, deters me from purchasing a full sized product. I would probably only ever use this at the beach, or when on an active holiday.
I tend to use the Oasis Beauty Apple a Day moisturiser but when my skin is quite dry I find that the Power Punch works better. It is a medium density moisturiser with a pleasant smell to it. I find with this I need to rub it in a little more or leave it to soak into my skin for a little longer but it keeps my skin from looking dry all day. Highly recommend for dry skin types.
This is a great moisturiser for my mature skin.
It's encased in a typical Oasis vacuum pump bottle that I love because it gets every last drop out of the bottle without having to cut it open, or sit it upside down on your vanity.
I find using 3 pumps of this yellow toned moisturiser is enough to do both face and neck, so it's fairly economical even though the bottle costs $39.90 initially.
I'm so bad with picking fragrances, but this smells very nice and natural, not overly fragranced, just enough that you can smell it. The smell does not linger on my skin for more than a few minutes after application.
It's not a particularly light moisturiser but neither is it extremely heavy. When you apply it, it feels more like a night cream as it's very moisturing and rich. The first time I used it I was a bit hesitant about how my foundation would wear during the day but I needn't have worried as it absorbed well, just took a couple of minutes.
I love that Oasis uses many organic ingredients and is NZ made, I will definitely purchase more of their products as I feel like I'm doing my skin such a favour when I use this brand.
Tips: If you prefer lighter moisturisers this may not suit, you might find it makes an excellent night cream instead.
I got this moisturiser as part of the Oasis Goodie Bag, which has a sample of each of their products and is an AWESOME way to try each of their products.
This moisturiser is full of amazing-sounding ingredients and other reviews of it have been glowing. However, I feel like it was a bit much for my combination skin. On the good side, it smelt great (like all Oasis products) and I love the SPF. On the down side, it was a little too rich for a day cream for me - more something I would prefer for a night cream. It didn't make me break out or anything, but I didn't enjoy the heavy feeling on my skin.
However, if you have dry skin and are looking for a seriously hydrating day cream, made by a cool NZ brand, this is the one for you!
Tips: BUY THE OASIS GOODIE BAG! You will not regret it!! <3
I had a sample of this but it seriously lasted a long time, longer than I expected, as a little goes a long way, which I found surprising for a moisturizer. It was in a gorgeous purple pottle and I couldn't wait to dig into it.
The product was a very pale creamy white kind of colour. I thought the lotion was very smooth and super creamy and deliciously thick. I used it in conjunction with an oil so I made it last even longer than it should have.
It didn't take long to absorb into my skin, despite how thick it was. I love the fact that it is a natural product, with no nasties and I especially love that it's made here in NZ.
I thought it smelled a bit weird, but I guess that's all the wonderful natural things in the cream. It felt lovely going on, but as it's made for dry skin it was too heavy and thick for my skin. I really loved using this, even if it was too heavy.
I have dry skin that often peels and flakes if I don't use the right products and my skin is also quite sensitive, so I was glad this moisturiser was directed at my skib type. The packaging is cute - a black tube with hot pink and white writig and designs. I love that this is NZ made and cruelty-free. The moisturiser is quite thick and heavy in texture, so only a small amount is needed. I would recommend using sparingly as this is a heavy moisturiser and would be too heavy and oily for those who don't have dry skin. The moisturiser itself is cream in colour with a light, pleasant fruity scent. As this contains sunscreen, this adds a white cast to the skin when applied - this is a bit annoying and the moisturiser does take a while to blend in and asborb into the skin, so if you are in a rush to get ready and apply make up this isn't ideal. That being said, once this is absorbed it doesn't leave my skin looking greasy, but it feels nice and hydrated. I love that this has a high SPF so I can feel confident that my skin has an extra layer of protection from the sun while I go about my day. I believe due to the SPF in the product though, that some make up products don't layer so well over this, primers in particular seem to crumble and separate on the skin if used with this, so I avoid using primer when I use this moisturiser. This leaves my skin feeling hydrated and refreshed all day. I recommend this for those with dry skin who want a heavy duty moisturiser - this does what it promises to do, and it's nice to support an ethical Kiwi brand.
Tips: Avoid using primer with this product, as it doesn't combine well with the SPF.
