I received this in my Mecca loop box recently and couldn't wait to try it! I love balm cleansers and usually go for the heavy types that need a face cloth to remove them, rather than those that emulsify. Whilst this one does emulsify, it is still satisfying to remove with a flannel. It melts quickly into the skin and once removed it leaves you with clean, smooth and supple skin. This was a pleasant surprise as other Clinique cleansers leave my skin feeling stripped. My tiny 15ml pot lasted me a good ten applications as you only need a small amount (less is definitely more with all balm cleansers!) so this probably works out good value if you buy the bigger tub. I don't know if I will be able to bring myself to buy it though. I kind of find it wasteful to spend a lot of money on cleanser when you rinse it off (plus I still go in with a second cleanser after this). I may well still be tempted though.....

Its pretty expensive. But it takes off my make up nicely. When I use it I like to use it like a mask, leave it on my skin and relax. Just let it work its magic. I don't use it to take my mascara off because it irritates my eyes slightly. My skin feels lovely and soft after using this.
I really wanted to love this product after all the rave reviews, and although it definitely got rid of all my makeup, after a few times using it my skin kept breaking out. It may be better for someone with dry skin
Tips: This could possibly work for someone with drier skin
This is what all those makeup remover balms are aiming to be, this manages to get every little bit of makeup including waterproof off in a manner of minutes without the need to over scrub or ending up with liner still under the eye, or leftover mascara in the morning.
It is expensive but it is a large pot, and a little does go a long way as the oil in the balm seems to expand with the heat of your hands, so rubbing it between your fingers first before applying to the skin will see you get a prolonged use out of this ja rmaking it a little more afffordable, granted I don't buy this all the time but if I happen to be at a Clinique counter or at duty free then I do get a large jar of it, or 2. You really can't beat good skincare and my skin loves me for it.
After seeing a couple of well-known beauty bloggers recommend this product and myself in need of a proper makeup remover I decided to splash out and purchase this.
I can say nothing but positive things about this product! While on the pricier end I absolutely love Clinique products I suppose it is a pricetag that comes alongside the brand. Luckily though, the pricetag is for sure worth it.
I use about a coin sized scoop on my fingertips and wipe it all over my face, including my eyelashes. The balm works its magic and my makeup just melts off. I then use water to wash the balm off and go about my usual cleansing routine.
My face feels so clean and the product leaves my skin feeling soft and not one bit irritated. The only potential problem I suspect this balm may encounter is if you own a super waterproof mascara, you may need a separate eye makeup remover for that one.
I have recently bought this product and have been using it each day. This product works great for me as I wear a waterproof mascara which is usually quite difficult to remove. I find this remover very gentle on my skin and the oils remove the makeup very quickly and effortlessly. This product is great for my sensitive skin, and surprisingly doesn't sting my eyes!
Tips: After using this remover I use a clinique face cleanser, this removes any left over oils leaving the skin soft and clean :)
I got given just over half a tub of this by my BFF who had no room in her luggage going home (Waaaaaaahhhhh!!!) and you can guess that if she was jettisoning this, it's a large tub!
First off, this stuff removes ALL the makeup. I have oily skin but I have no hesitation in using this balm that turns into an oil-esk substance on the skin. Just the tiniest amount is required.
It doesn't leave a residue. It does remove estee lauder double wear. It does remove stubborn makeup. I will cry when I finally get to the bottom of what I have because it means I'll have to buy my own, but it just does such an amazing job, I need this in my life.
Ok, so I was very hesitant to buy this cleanser, firstly I don't like shelling out my hard earned cash for products that potentially won't agree with my skin. But I have a great clinique sales person and she talked me into it. I was also buying Estee Lauder Double wear foundation so needed something heavy duty to remove that along with concealer, powder and eye make up. Well this does the trick, its lovely to put on, great to massage in, I usually start with my cheeks, chin and forehead then once I see my base has been broken up I continue onto my eyes. I love cleansers that don't hurt my eyes and this one definitely doesn't sting and is also very gentle on my eye area. I also have a spot of eczema on my eyelid and it has dissappeared while using this cleansing balm. Any way, will definitely be re-purchasing when I run out. Worth the money.
Tips: Wash off thoroughly or it can be oily on your skin.
Quick and easy to use. There is absolutely no fuss when using a cleansing balm. Clinique's one removes pretty much every trace of makeup. Stubborn eyeliner gone. Long wear lipstick bye bye.
I use this product every night because it is so effective. It's also great as it doesn't leave a residue on your face once rinsed off with a damp towel.
This product works well for facial massage as well. It allows your fingers to glide over your skin without pulling at it.
Tips: Follow up with something like a micellar water to make sure every trace of makeup is gone.
As with all Clinique products this is brilliant- takes off all your makeup and leaves your skin feeling lovely and not oily. The packaging is very luxe with the purple glass jar. My issue is paying $60 for a makeup remover when there are other effective options which don’t break the bank- and which don’t result in more waste sent to landfill. Ethique has a makeup remover bar which is just as good and in fact I think coconut oil would probably be an ok substitute. Maybe I’m turning into too much of a hippy but I can’t see myself repurchasing for these reasons
