I liked the blue pot the creme was packaged in. The creme has a lovely soft feel to it and is easy to apply to the skin.It is light but a little tacky to start with but this soon disappears leaving a nice smooth feel to the skin. My skin definitely felt hydrated after using this product. It is has a lovely fresh fragrance but this may be a problem for people who are allergic to fragrance.I was pleasantly surprised with this creme because I was a bit worried about the list of ingredients in it especially the methylisothiazolinone which causes a lot of allergic reactions. It worked well for both evening and morning and was great under foundation. I would use this product again

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Review
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel double’s skins moisture in just 1hr. This refreshing, silky gel formula uses the innovative Progressive Release System to address the underlying cause of dryness by absorbing moisture from the air and releasing it into the skin over time, so skin stays soft and radiant looking all day long.

Tips: The creme spreads well and is absorbed really quickly so a small amount is needed
I love hydrating and gel formula moisturisers as my skin can get dehydrated, so was looking forward to trying Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel.
For reference, my skin type is fairly normal though it can be combination at times - and I would always rather err on the side of dewiness rather than matte, so hydration is something I look for in moisturisers. I typically do use a gel formula moisturiser or serum layered underneath something thicker or an oil (the specific products vary a lot, but for example I often use Antipodes Joyous serum with argan oil layered on top).
During my trial of Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel I used it twice daily for approximately two week. I didn’t use any other moisturisers but did still use a sunscreen in the mornings.
The immediate effects of HBWG are fairly pleasant (provided you don’t mind the scent, as it’s fairly strong for a skincare product) - it’s quite cooling, refreshing and does visibly reduce dryness when applied. However I didn’t find that it kept my skin moisturised throughout the day the way that my usual serums and moisturisers do, and this is more of a priority than the immediate effects for me.
Overall after a couple of weeks of use my skin actually seems a bit drier than with my usual routine, but perhaps this is a good option for people with oilier skin or who prefer very light moisturising products. For me HBWG was okay, but probably doesn't quite live up to its claims and I wouldn't use it again as I already have other products that work better for my skin.
Tips: It has no sunscreen, so put some over top for daytime! As the moisturiser isn't very bulky itself it's actually not too bad to have to layer with a separate sunscreen. Always wear sunscreen :)
I found the Hydro boost gel made my skin feel lovely and soft. Most of the time I could just use the gel as my only moisturiser and some days I had to put another moisturiser over the top. I really liked the clean smell of the product.
I will start with the packaging. The box was visually appealing straight away. Blue and silver with easy to read labelling. Once opened, the pot was so sleek and even more visually appealing than the box!! Just looking at it made me want to use it!! On day one, I cleaned my face and neck, and applied a dabbed finger amount over my skin. A little goes a long way so I was impressed by that instantly. The gel glides on so silkily and easily and instantaneously your skin is left feeling fresh and velvety. I have to use a cleanser on my combination skin but I always have issues with dry skin in the grooves of my nose and sides of my mouth. By day three of using this product (once a day use) my dry skin was completely gone and my skin was feeling a lot more supple! By day 8, it had transformed my skin completely! I have continued cleansing my face as per normal, and using the Hydro Boost Water Gel daily and have had no more dry skin. This Gel has been a saving grace, it has solved my dry skin problem, increased luminosity and suppleness on my face, and has not increased any oil productivity on my combination skin!!!!!!! Highly, highly recommended!!!!
Tips: A little goes a long way, so it is safe to be frugal when applying!!!
I was so pleased to be given the opportunity to trial this product, I had tried a similar product previously but couldn't really afford to keep using it. I love the packaging, very cool looking and screamed water & hydration...... The glass jar is slick and expensive looking. The gel is incredibly light. I have really sensitive skin I was slightly concerned it may irritate my skin however following over a week of daily use it hasn't affected me at all. The smell is pleasant, difficult to describe as anything other than water. I have very dry skin and when you first apply this gel it feels really cool & hydrating, I could just feel it sinking in. On my skin it was soaked up almost instantly but I did feel slightly tight after about ten minutes. I have found that I also need to apply my usual moisturiser on top of the gel. I don't mind this, I felt like it has 'locked in' the water based gel. My skin has felt comfortable all day and I think is looking better/brighter overall. ps. I LOVE the price of this product, reasonable enough to be able to continue using this regularly and favorably comparable to the more expensive version I have tried before.
Tips: I recommend letting it soak in and then apply your usual moisturiser on top to 'lock' it in.
I was very excited to trial this product, especially being Neutrogena as they usually make fabulous products, but unfortunately it's not what I had hoped. I found this moisturiser very appealing, the packaging looked very elegant and the cream, very luxurious. I trialled this product for two weeks to get a good feel for it and I found the gel felt very nice and cooling on my face, it had a pleasant, mild scent. However I didn't find it overly moisturising as it claims it is. My skin certainly didn't feel moisturised. I found it very average and would not use it again. Overall, It has lovely packaging and is nice and refreshing but that's as far as it goes. Not worth the money as far as I'm concerned.
I was very exited to try this gel when I saw this clear blue jar and this name " HYDRO BOOST WATER GEL" on first time. Also they say Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel double’s skins moisture in just 1hr!? I thought I couldn't image what would happened in 1hr but It sounds what I need. And I am using this for 2 weeks, still I haven't got clue about it. This gel is light gel and spread on skin very nicely.(one finger top size is enough to spread on my face and neck.) It gives me cool fresh feeling and I could feel like my skin is getting hydrating and after this gel disappear my skins are very smooth. And what???? It didn't really moisturized me.Through a day I feel my skin needs more!! To be honest, It is nothing specially boost up thing happened to me. Is it because I have a dry skin??? hmmm... I am a kind of disappointed. I like this texture and I am going to finish to use it. Hopefully I will find something special about this gel and I f I did, I will review again.
I don't think i can accurately put in words how great this product is, But I shall try! I have very dry skin and normally moisturize at least 5 times a day, still when I try to wear foundation I get dry flaky patches which look horrid! With this product I was down to twice a day and was able to wear both foundation AND powder when going out for my birthday dinner! that alone would make it top of my buy list. I also tried it on my partner who has skin issues, his response was that it felt great going on very refreshing and as good as what he gets on script from the doc's. It has no noticeable fragrance and feels light and refreshing going on. The packaging looks great and very upmarket, about my only complaint was that for the size of the jar a lot of it was glass not product however in saying that it amazed me how far a small amount went. So I feel it is still great value for money. another plus is that while using this I have had no breakouts and my skin looks and feels better then it has at anytime since pre teenage years which is saying something as I am now in my early 30's
Tips: I cant think of anything that would make this a better product.
Oh wait can they bring out a body lotion version?????????
I have been using this everday in the morning for the past week and it has really hydrated my skin. I have sensitive combination skin (more dry at this time of year) and I haven't suffered any breakouts as a result of adding this product to my daily routine. It has moisturised well and I replaced my usual Neutrogena day moisturiser and have noticed a difference in my skin as it seems to really love the water gel and it really does make a difference within an hour! I'm not completely convinced about the progressive release system yet but my skin isn't as dry at the end of the day so perhaps it does work! The only negative comment I have about this is that I don't like the smell - it isn't a bad smell, it is just an odd one. Otherwise I highly recommend.
Tips: Apply to face when dry are a shower to rehydrate fast!
Overall, I found that the 'Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel' a great product but probably not one for me.
Firstly I found the packaging attractive and simple. The promise of 24 hour hydration unrealistic. The smell subtle, pleasant and 'fresh'. It went on my skin beautifully and really felt amazing on, unlike any moisturising product I have used before (it actually felt like one of the high quality primers I use).
However despite how nice the product looked and felt to used I didn't feel like it did much for my skin, perhaps it's not for my skin type. I feel like this would be a brilliant product for a teenager or young adult as it's light on their skin and it only focuses on hydration, which I think would be perfect. In regards to the claim of 24 hour hydration, it fell very short. I put it to the test on this promise and felt the it worked well for up to 8 hours but then started to fade and defiantly not the 24 it claims.
I may use it again, but I would recommend that it's a good product for the right person.
Tips: It can be used as a primer for light looks. I trialled it as a primer a few time and found it worked best powered, it went very very badly with my BB cream however, perhaps they're two conflicting products and greater some kind of 'relaction', as it started to flake and clump and my whole look had to be reapplied.
