I have been using this cleanser for years on and off. The smell is delicious without sounding having any fake products parabens in it. I have not used it all the time as couldn’t afford it, but always go back to it. It last for a really long time, you don’t have to use very much and I use it in the shower in conjunction with a gentle scrub or grains, it’s easy to wash off and doesn’t ever feel oily or residual on your skin. The smell is just one of those calming smells to me . My skin is consistently clean , without feeling like it stripped essential oils away. By the way. I’m an older mum , mature as they say ! and it suits me now , as much as it did in my 30s , even in my 40s , I love this , actually as I am typing this I realised I even used it in my 20s , as was super busy , travelling a lot for work , as needed something quick easy and great quality- women of all ages & lots of skin types would find this great I’m sure.

Clarins Cleansing Milk with Alpine Herbs Review
Clarins Cleansing Milk with Alpine Herbs Soothing cleansing milk lifts away make-up and impurities with spa-like efficiency. Clarins’ proprietary blend of softening and toning plant extracts — including Alpine Herbs, St. John’s Wort, Sweet Almond, Marshmallow and Linden — helps maintain skin’s perfect moisture balance for optimum comfort and radiance. Leaves skin feeling soft, supple and perfectly refreshed.
Morning and evening, apply following Clarins gentle cleansing method. Warm Cleansing Milk to skin temperature in the palms of the hands. Apply by gently placing the flats of the hands over the face. Hold for several seconds without pressing. Briskly lift the hands off the face. Repeat 5-6 times, including on the neck the milk will gradually thicken and create a suction effect to lift off make-up and impurities without irritating or pulling the skin. Rinse with water or remove with a tissue. Follow with Clarins Toning Lotion.

Tips: Clarins often have beautiful bargain gift sets At special times of the year in promotional packs . including this cleansing milk
This cleanser has to be one of my favorites it's light and creamy and leaves the skin feeling refreshed and hydrated. Very good at removing make up.
The bottle is attractive enough with a flip top lid makes it nice and easy to squeeze this bluish lotion out. Has an interesting fragrance a little fruity a little bitter herb like and crisp . It’s soft and lifts dirt and makeup, I wet my face then put a reasonable blob size on my hand rub together then rub lightly and lightly pat this cleanser into my skin rinse and repeat, sort of like doing a quick light smack as if the plans of your hands pull the impurities out. And that it does it’s a nice gentle cleanser that leaves skin supple and clean. My skin doesn’t dry out using this cleanser I’m left with refreshed clean skin. No rubbing and running with this cleanser though more patting and rinsing. It’s nice and does a good job while leaving skin soft if you get the big bottle it lasts and lasts.
I use this in the morning and it is just so comfortable and gentle on the skin. It doesn’t remove makeup so I use it in the morning as my skin doesn’t get that dirty at night. It smells nice but not overwhelming. Cleanse without stripping moisture but no residue on the face
Tips: If you can afford it, I use a good amount to give my face a good massage at the same time
I was given this cleanser and have enjoyed using it. Cleansing milk is probably the wrong term for it, as its definitely more of a cream. Smells nice, creamy texture, massages well. Does a great job of removing make up, even long stay foundations and lipstick.
My skin feels clean afterwards, definitely not tight and dry.
The only downside - and the reason I won't be buying it when it runs out - is the price. I cannot justify the price tag when there are other less expensive good cleansers out there.
So sorry Clarins, but I won't become a regular user of this product.
Tips: Don't use too much, a little goes a long way.
This cleanser is slightly oddly named. Cleansing 'milk' is a bit of a misnomer as, as another review points out, it can be hard to get out of the bottle and when it does come out it's easy to get too much at once.
However when you do use it, it's a gentle cleanser with a light scent, assumably from the alpine herbs. The light green colour is a little odd, but not bad.
Using it didn't strip my skin like some cleansers can. I'm not convinced the clean was deep enough, but I wasn't aware of the 'correct' way to use this cleanser (should have checked BR earlier!) so I shouldn't really comment on that!
All up a pleasant gentle product suited for drier skin types, but with a price tag like that you want to try before you buy.
This is everything and more. It's so soft and beautiful on the skin. I love cleansing milks and this is by far my favourite, it lifts up the dirt and impurities on the skin. It smells divine due to the plant extracts. I love the way that my skin feels after using this, my skin feels so soft and supple.
A 10ml of this cleanser came in a mini pack with two other Clarins products and I was super excited because I haven't tried Clarins before, and I do like a good cleanser.
My little tube is cute, and my cleanser is a very light pastel blue color. It is thick and creamy and really quite delicious to rub all over my face. I use a facial sponge with mine as I like the slight exfoliation.
The smell is quite fresh. It says 'with alpine herbs' which I guess I can smell. It smells like fresh mountain side (with less goat). It's actually quite pleasant and I do like it! I was also very surprised when I washed it off my face - I used it once without the cleansing sponge and my face was soft, and its softer still with the sponge.
I don't think I would purchase a full sized bottle of this, as lovely as it is. The price is just too far out of my range, so I'll just try to savour this sample as much as I can!
I have been wanting to try a few different Clarins products for a while. The bottles always look so classy and I had heard really good things about their skin line being well formulated. When Farmers having a GWP and me having some Prezzy Cards happened at the same time I knew a Clarins haul would happen! In the Farmers GWP there were a few goodies - this cream cleanser being one of them.
The bottle of this is really nice. For the GWP I got a 100ml size which is really nice, plenty to try to decide whether you like it or not (It is half the usual size). The bottle is clear with red writing on it. Great for seeing how much is left. The tube is also squeezable which I love, makes it much easier to get the thick cream out. The tube also feels thin enough that it won't be too hard to cut open to get the last of the product out. The lid is white and really chunky, feels tight but easy enough to get on and off (even in the shower).
The product itself is green. Could be off putting but I don't really mind it. It does have a scent to it, kind of a clean scent but also fresh and herbal. I actually kind of like it because it smells like the skincare my Mum used to use when I was a kid. I love cream cleansers and this is no exception. I usually use this with a face cloth and warm water and it does remove most of my makeup really well although struggles with thicker eye makeup. I prefer to use this on my skin after I have taken my makeup off with some thing else. I find it feels really nice on the skin and leaves it feeling clean but not dry. I haven't had any problems with reacting to this cleanser.
I think this would be a great product for those with sensitive and dry skin (like myself). I really would advise trying to pick this up in a GWP when buying something else though to see if you like it first. I do have quite a few cleansers on the go at the moment but once I am done with them this is on my repurchase list.
This is a long-time Clarins faithful that I hope they don't rebrand or change. It smells divine, it is gentle on the skin and doesn't dry the skin. Ideal for mature skin - but I used it in my thirties and forties as well. Now that everyone is into plant natural - Clarins experience in this sector has finally come of age.
Tips: I apply it before shower or cleansing wash using aromatheraphy/gua sha/face yoga motions (lymph draining circular and upward motions with pressure points) and then let it settle on my skin for a few minutes before cleansing.
