I was really surprised by the great reviews on this product after trying it for myself. Maybe mine came from a bad batch? I used it for a couple of months and at first I really like it and felt like it was makin a difference to the smoothness of my lips. But as time went on, I felt it just got really messy. I would get bits of sugar all through my mouth because it would come off in chunks. Super gross and messy. I wouldn't purchase it again based of this experience

Tips: Maybe try keeping it in the fridge to avoid problems like mine
The e.l.f Lip Exfoliator is a nice product. I got it from iherb where it was super cheap. I really like e.l.f for their affordable but good quality products.
It's handy because it comes in a stick form, it looks just like a lipstick. This means no dipping fingers in a pot, however you are scrubbing it on your lips each time you use it. But then again you are with your lipstick too. I think the tube is really great for travel too, very convenient.
One of the main things that I really loved about this product is the smell, it smells gorgeous. It has shea butter and a a whole host of other oils and moisturizing agents. The smell is definitely the best part for me.
It worked pretty well for the first few times, but it broke on about the second use. I have heard others talk about this too. You are pushing it on your lips so if you are not careful it is really easy for it to break off at the base. It's still usable.
I really liked it the first few times I used it, it was smooth and buttery and left my lips feeling soft and clean. After a while however the moisturizing part diminishes and you are left with the harsh scrub parts, it gets to be a bit to harsh. You can make it work by turning it around and using the other side, not as easy but doable, and you can use something else to replace the part that makes it glide on, a lip balm works well.
So overall a good product but some things to watch out for. If you are paying the low American prices then well worth it. I would not spend much more on it though.
Tips: Be careful as it's easy to break the stick off at the base.
I love e.l.f. cosmetics. Their products are so affordable and such good value. This is one of my most favourite products from the brand and one that I will keep repurchasing. First of all, I love the smell of this. It's smells sugary sweet.
I love how it comes in a lipstick form. I have a lip scrub in a pot but I prefer this because I don't have to get my fingers dirty and it does the job. It really exfoliates my lips and makes lipstick application a lot better afterwards. You can't go wrong with this lip exfoliator it's a must have for me.
Tips: I got mine from iHerb which is around $3 but they're usually sold out too. Kmart has this for $10 which is still reasonable.
SO we all know and love E.L.F and this product is another great one, the Studio Lip Exfoliator!
I brought this off iHerb so it was about $3 usd so very well priced and I was so happy once I received it, it came it just a all black with their white writing, like a normal lipstick case, other than the writing on it, I would actually have been no wiser to what the product was, and to me i love that as I can have it in a handbag and 1 at my makeup station and another in my bathroom, I can just have them everywhere as they are well priced and discreet.
The product is so nice, it smells amazing, like shea butter, and I know it has other great properties in it, and the tiny little exfoliating granules just feel great on my lips, they don't hurt in any way and they removed all that was needed to go, they left my lips soft and ready to apply any of my lip products for that day, it is seriously just so good, there is absolutely no mess to this product as it is formed into a lipstick shape and there is no fall out or anything along those lines with this.
Overall great product, will be buying again and anyone that needs a lip exfoliator that does all these other amazing things as well, conditions, plumps, protects, this is the product to buy.
Tips: Need kind of damp lips to start this product off, it can be a bit harsh if you have completely dry lips, even just a dash of water will do.
Love it! I really enjoy this lip exfoliation scrub and prefer it to the ones from Lush. I only paid 1.50USD and it was an absolute steal. It has a nice course, grainy texture that really buffs away yucky dry chapped lips. I have severely dry lips and this stuff does the job and keeps my lips nice and soft. The sheabutter in the scrub helps moisturize my lips and it also smells incredible.
I will forever purchase this scrub over the Lush one as the texture is gritty enough to heal dry lips and it does not make my lips itchy like the Lush one.
Was looking for a lippie while I was in Kmart one day and came across the e.l.f stand and noticed the lip exfoliator. I had seen someone on Snapchat (of all places!) use this (or something similar) and they absolutely raved about it so I grabbed it.
From memory it was about $10 (which I was quite happy to pay) and it is packaged like a lipstick (I mean the 'container' it comes in).
First impression? Wow! Just used it quickly on my lips and it exfoliated them so well, and conditioned them at the same time, my lips felt amazing! And plump from the stimulation.
Would definitely recommend this product to everyone, worth the $10 from Kmart that's for sure :)
Tips: Try not to eat it, it smells delicious
WannabeMUA inspired me to buy and try this recently. For a start it was $10 rather than the $4.99 listed here - but I wanted to try it so still bought it.
The product comes in a cardboard case housing a square-ish black tube. I initially thought the cardboard case was wasteful and unecessary but it actually has ingredients and usage tips so I was wrong.
The product looks like a big lipstick. You pull the cap off and reveal a classy black tube which you wind up to reveal the opaque brown flecked exfoliator. I LOVE that this applies like a lippy...no more messy pottle scenarios for me!
The flecks are the sugar granules and man are they awesome. They quickly buff your lips on application (which is as per any stick or gloss) and then melt into (or get licked fromhehe yum) your lips. As the sugar granules are embedded in a lip balm rich in vitamins and oils I see no need to follow packet instructions and remove this then follow with another balm. Instead I simply leave it to work its magic.
It smells divine... vanilla-esque, rich, soft and decadent...yum.
One use leaves you with softer lips and I can only imagine what extended use will achieve.
The one thing that has always put me off of Lush lip scrubs was the fact that you had to scoop it out and rub your lips with it. THANK YOU ELF for putting this in stick form. My lips get chapped so badly and rubbing this all over my lips like a lipstick makes it so easy to remove all that gross skin and build up. It leaves a yummy sugary taste behind that I love and the balm around the granules is super moisturizing. I always apply a lip balm afterwards but I don't think that's a necessity. It's so cheap, it works so well and I would absolutely buy it over and over again.
Tips: Use as often as you need!
This product has been great for my lips over summer.
It has a nice sweet taste that has you continually licking your lips and the shea butter makes them feel so soft.
Its packaged in a lipstick container and you apply it as you would a lipstick. You do not need to run it over your lips much for it to do a great job of removing the dry skin from your lips. It has zero mess and is so easy to apply. Great if you do not have the time to do a DIY version. I love that you can put in your handbag and use it whenever needed.
The only down side is that the granules can feel abit sharp when the moisturiser wears down but apart from that this product is amazing.
For the price and quality of this product I definitely continue to purchase this. Its a must have for dry lips.
i brought this after i had brought a lip stain that definitely needed you to use a lip scrub before applying. for $10 it is a great product. i have used it around 10 times and i find that i am using alot of the product each time and i may have to buy a new one very soon. the exfoliator smells delicious! almost good enough to eat haha. but i find that the excess product coming off is more than i thought and i find i have to wipe round the edges of the stick otherwise it can look and feel quite messy. the exfoliating part works reasonably well but it doesn't moisturise as much as i had hoped and i felt that if i didnt use it every 3-4 days my lips would feel more dry and chapped than they did before using the product.
