Tips: Trial this first before you buy if you can
I used this oil throughout my first pregnancy, and really loved the smell and ritual of rubbing it on as my belly grew. I thought it was working really well, until my baby was born and I could see the bottom of my stomach and all the stretch marks :-( So although it didn't prevent stretch marks from forming, I would recommend as it kept my skin from feeling itchy and tight during pregnancy. It was a nice way of feeling like I was looking after myself - and to be honest I don't think anything would have stopped me getting stretch marks anyway!
Tips: It is a bit messy being a liquid oil, so I would be interested in trying the new dry skin oil Bio Oil product, which is like a cream rather than the runny oil.
I used this oil after my pregnancy thinking it would make all my stretch marks go away, but unfortunately it did not do what it said it would, for some reason a month after using this my stretch marks went a reddish color, so I stopped using this product. I still have my stretch marks, just not as bad as they were.
Tips: Rub oil into needed areas and sit in the sun and let it bathe into your Skin, it's the best advice I ever got.
I bought this oil as had a muscle injury that needed to be massaged - you can pick up a bottle if this from the warehouse at a very reasonable price, was the cheapest oil available.
I found it absorbs well into the skin, a little goes a long way and it's good to use as a massage oil. Although I didn't really like the smell.
Tips: Good value for money as a massage oil.
I found this helped with stretch marks with regular use but it made no difference to my scars. It’s not exactly cheap if you’re using it every day which is what is recommended. I’m also not a fan of the packaging - it just looks like a pharmacy product! What’s inside the packaging is obviously more important but I also like my beauty items to look pretty! Even though it’s an oil I had to used quite a bit of product at a time.
Purchased to help with some of my facial scarring, I only saw a minimal improvement. These are some old scars so I'm not too sure if they were too old to really help and if the product might help better with newer scarring.
I hear this a lot, that Bio Oil is supposed to magically remove scars, but they never claim to be able to do that. It’s not possible. Look it up, scars may fade and become paler, but they’ll never completely go away. Stretch marks are types of scars, and they’re pretty difficult to avoid during pregnancy. Bio Oil claims to help the APPEARANCE of scars and stretch marks. Anyway, I’ve noticed that Bio Oil did help the stretch marks and scars on my legs fade and grow paler, as well as a nasty scar my cat gave me on my arm. I like the smell of the oil and that it doesn’t leave your skin feeling oily and gross. It absorbs quite quickly and dries well. It’s quite dear, but I manage to make my bottles last ages.
I used this when pregnant with both of my children as a preventative from stretch marks. It worked for me or it may be genetics? I used this in the shower to get a good coverage but I did find that it would irritate my legs so I used it on areas where stretch marks may appear. I don't think it would get rid of stretch marks that are already there, mainly as a preventative. It isn't cheap to buy and there are likely to be other options out there now. I can't review on scars or uneven skin tone.
Tips: Use in the shower
This oil is available from the Warehouse for about $29, it's quite expensive stuff. There was a near identical product right next to it that retailed for $4 and I bought a bottle of that too!
It applies smooth and has a light fragrance. I adore the peach colour of this and appreciate that the oil is easily absorbed into the skin. It was nice and did provide some relief from my seasonal allergy itching as well as spared me from pregnancy stretch marks but I don't feel like the results justified the price because of the near identical product I purchased the same day provided the same results for a fraction of the price.
Tips: Best used straight after a bath or shower when your skin is still wet. Go to the Warehouse if you're looking for this, you might find the cheaper version like I did.
I starting using this product in pregnancy with the hope that it would help prevent stretch marks, I should have known that stretch marks are a genetic thing but I kept buying it even though I really disliked it just hoping it would work. I really dislike the smell, the feeling in the skin after and even on your hands after. It literally would feel like I’ve bathed in cheap canola oil. The smell is the worst part for me. I spent so much money on this product and wish i could say it was because I loved it.
Tips: Try the Ecotan Glory oil instead!!
