I used bio oil during and after pregnancy on all those areas they suggest and it did not stop me getting stretch marks, and I don't think it made one ounce of difference to help them fade either! I have heaps of stretch marks, but maybe I am just more prone to them than others? (I was HUGE too, people kept asking of I was having twins, which I wasn't, so that might have something to do with it.) What helps stretch marks fade is time, and they continued to fade at about the same rate after I stopped using bio oil. As a moisturiser though I think it did an ok job, the areas I used it on though aren't dry areas for me anyway so I don't really think I can make a fair comment on that. The left over i have works well as a massage oil though, just gotta work on getting my husband to give more back rubs!

I love using bio oil it makes your skin so soft and supple while minimising and fading stretch marks. I used it through the first half of my pregnancy and didnt get any stretch marks (it helped fade the one that were already there yay!) But i found it to be a little too expensive to continue using as i was using it two or three times a day on my belly, hips, legs and boobs . I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wanted to reduce the appearance of stretch marks and scars!!
I used this on my belly and breasts when I was pregnant and have 0 stretch marks on my belly and very minimal scarring on my breasts. I wished I used this behind my upper tthighs as I didnt and did end up with stretch marks there. I also used this on rashes I get from some shampoos and laundry powders and its very soothing. I even put a few drops in my hair from time to time after straightening it and found it good for flyaways. I found this quite expensive so look out for it in sales or promotions.
Tips: If using when pregnant make sure you apply it every time your skin gets itchy. Itchiness is a sign your skin is stretching and scratching will make them worse. Using this will soothe the itching and give your skin more flexibility.
Bio oil really surprized me I had a baby last october so I got strech marks not only on my Tummy but also on my boobs and now they are still there but are no way as bad, I also had a scar above my knee in highschool now its half in size I totally belive in this product
Tips: Its a little pricy
I have used this product for two different reasons and it worked well for both. First when I was pregnant I rubbed this on the bump twice a day, it felt lovely. It's strange that it is oily yet almost dry feeling, this is a feature Bio Oil. I did not end up with any stretch marks. I am not saying this is a miracle product but for me I am sure it helped. The second reason I have used this Oil is for dry skin and found it very soothing and helpful. I would definitely suggest giving this product a try. It also smells lovely.
I decided to give Bio-oil a go during my pregnancy lathering my belly throughout and it did the trick! not a stretchmark in sight! Though I failed to remember the back of my legs. I loved the result but I'm not overly keen on the smell nor how greasy it is in comparison to other body oils I have chosen to use.
I purchased this Bio Oil after being sucked in by all the media hype of it being beneficial for scarring, but unfortunately thats all it was for me, hype.
I used it religiously for about 6 months with no results and people kept telling to keep using it as it takes long but eventually I would have results. I kept on and kept on.
The application of the oil is like rubbing fish oil on your face. Its a really thin oil and is doesnt feel very nourishing after application. Its takes a long time to get absorbed and all my skin felt was oily.
I'm not sure if it wouldve worked if I kept on using it, but I believe a product should at least give some minimal change to your skin if its really going to prove to be scar changer after months of use.
Sadly I dont recommend this oil to amybody because its expensive and didnt work for me.
This product claims to work on scars and dark marks. It also takes time. I used this miracle stuff over a period of four months. My daughter used it for the same period for some scars she wasn't happy with. I don't know if it was the massage motion or the actual oil, but in both cases, her scars faded, my facial scars faded and some pigmentation also faded. You don't need to use a lot, just a few drops, so it does work out to be economical. It smells pleasant and I have since bought more, and given some to a sister who had a bad accident requiring surgery. This stuff worked for me when Rosehip oil was too much for my skin. So...even though I naturally prefer natural products, this oil actually worked really well for both of us.
Tips: Don't give up on it too quickly. I think most of us want 'instant' effects, but when it comes to this stuff, the longer you use it, the better the effect.
I used Bio Oil after having my first daughter, I had extremely wide, purple stretch marks. I applied Bio Oil every morning and evening until the bottle was finished which took around 3-4 weeks. It never got rid of my stretch marks or scars but it did shrink my stretch marks by half the size so if I had of continued using it...it may have got rid of them?
It did rub in nicely and I felt it wasn't too greasy afterwards.
I had heard all the hype about Bio Oil so when I saw it at the Girls Day Out Expo and was a special deal to buy two bottles for a special price I was excited to get it and start using it on my stretch marks and a scar on my leg.
I didn't enjoy applying it, was really greasy and never felt like it was absorbed properly into the skin, kept at it for awhile but never saw any real results with it and gave up.
From talking to others the majority found they didn't get results either. The one or two who did actually wondered if it was more the massaging of the stretch marks that helped them fade away not the product itself. Unsure but this is one product I wouldn't use or buy again or recommend to others.
