I am a big fan of Rosehip oil, it is a wonder ingredient. I also love the fact Essano is available in the supermarket. However the price of Essano Rosehip Oil is comparable to other brands like Evolu and Trilogy. (Essano is cheaper, but considering how long the product lasts it's not a price difference that would make your decision) The product itself is rather 'sticky' on the skin, not something I had ever experienced with other brands of Rosehip Oil. At the end of the day my skin felt sticky, like it does on days I wear sunscreen. As such, I do not consider this the best option on the market. However if this is all your budget extends to or you are unable to/can't be bothered getting hold of a different brand, get this one because rosehip oil is something everyone needs in their life!

Tips: Use it under moisturiser, instead of moisturiser, as an eye cream, as a hair mask, to reduce redness, to reduce stretch marks, etc. Rosehip oil = a very multifunctional product!!
To start with the packaging is lovley, a nice wee glass bottle and a tube drop applicator so you get the right amount, I use half a tube. I was gutted when I first smelt it as its not that pleasant very much reminds me off cod liver oil I soon got over the smell as the benefits off this wee gem far outweigh the scent. This is a amber coloured oil that's not greasy, I was supprised when I first used it that it didn't sit on top off my skin it just soaked in and left no residue, it was absorbed instantly. This doesn't affect my makeup as other oils can leave me greasy with bit of a shine. I would have to say there is a improvement in the smoothness of my skin. I use a small amount and lightly rub it in. This is a reasonable priced product more than happy to keep this in my skin care routine.
Tips: work it into your skin well
I really don't like this product, as I found it hard to soak into my skin, and it made me break out (which is not a normal thing for me). It did nothing for uneven skin tone, or scars, it literally did the opposite (I got scars from the pimples it caused). Will literally never use again and warn my friends and family against.
This oil is fantastic and affordable. I much prefer this to Trilogy. I use a bit more than they recommend in the evenings so it makes my skin super soft and dewey when I wake up in the mornings. As with the reviewer below me, it also smells a bit fishy to me!
I'd never used Rosehip Oil before, so Essano Rosehip Oil was my first and to be honest, it wasn't quite what I was expecting. When I thought of Rosehip Oil, I thought of something pleasant-smelling and possibly rose-scented ... I understand that this is apparently a very common misconception!
Having no idea of what to expect, I thought that maybe there was something wrong with the bottle that I'd bought and that I’d received old stock past its expiry date and ended up with rancid oil. But, this was not so! After a bit of research, I found out that the smell of Rosehip Oil varies from person to person depending on your nose. To some people it has a warm, earthly smell, while to others it can smell quite fishy.
Unfortunately, I am one of those who fall into the "fishy" category. I had already massaged a few drops onto my face after showering and had applied my moisturiser on top, per the instructions on the bottle. Initially I didn't think too much of the smell, washed my hands and went to relax for a while before going to bed. Every now and then I got a whiff of this strong fishy smell. I hunted all over for the source of the smell; looking in the kitchen, sniffing the air outside thinking that maybe one of our neighbours was cooking fish, even checking the cat’s food bowl to see if I’d forgotten to wash it, but I couldn't find the source! An hour went by and I could still smell it! It was only then that I wondered if it could be the Rosehip Oil and went to sniff the bottle.
After that experience, I only applied the oil directly before going to bed and didn't reapply it in the morning! The smell aside, it did leave my skin feeling soft, nourished and hydrated. It was easily absorbed without leaving a greasy residue. Even though I do have oily skin, it is often a little dehydrated and by applying my moisturiser on top of the oil, it assisted in helping my skin to absorb and retain more of the nourishing and moisturising properties (oil needs water to be absorbed into the skin and most moisturisers are water based).
Tips: If you are worried about how Rosehip Oil will smell to you, ask to smell a tester bottle before you decide to make your purchase. If you'd like to use this oil anyway and it smells a little fishy to you, apply it (along with your moisturiser) right before you go to bed, that way it'll work its magic while you're sleeping and you don't have to smell it for very long.
I got a little trial size of this with my online grocery shopping and fell in love with it. I have since bought a full size and I am loving the results. I put it on at night before bed on my face and on my belly (pregnant) So far no stretch marks and I am due next week. I have bad scarring on my face from teenage acne and find that it has taken a lot of the redness out and my skin is smoother. It also makes applying foundation the next morning much smoother too. Another huge benefit is I am not finding it oily on my face. WIN!
I got the little 3ml bottle in the trial pack which I purchased from Countdown, it lasted for ages, you only need a few drops for your face. It compares really well to the Trilogy Rosehip Oil, I didn't notice much difference. If you get the full size bottle from Countdown on special, it works out cheaper. My face was noticeably smoother & softer, it's good for fine lines & also rough skin on your body as well.
Tips: Just use sparingly, you only need a few drops, it goes a long way. I bought some for my Daughter, too, she uses it for preventing stretch marks in pregnancy.
I must admit I had reservations about using this product when I first bought it, as I was hesitant of causing more pimples in the oily parts of my skin. However I was very pleased indeed!
I used the oil at night after toning and before my night cream. Results wise I definitely felt like my skin was more glowing in the mornings and overall had a positive effect. And I didn't see any noticable change in the acne department which is great! I also used this product my my neck and chest which worked a dream.
Would I buy this again? Probably. However it may be a bit too rich for my every day use on my face, especially coming into summer. BUT I will probably keep a bottle handy for dry days.
Tips: Buy the essano sample pack to give this a try
I purchased the full trial size set and was very pleased I did! The Rosehip Oil is my favourite. I apply it every night before I go to bed and wake up to silky smooth skin. I will continue to buy this oil!
I got the Essano Rosehip Oil in their giftpack, which is readily available in the supermarket. I used it for a few weeks, which was great for the 10ml sample.
This oil comes in a cute, pink labelled bottle. It claims to help dry skin, scratch marks and scars. Obviously in a shorter time frame I can't speak for long term benefits, but I was seriously impressed with the difference made to my face and hair using this product.
I picked this up to use during a week in Australia, where the water is a little harsher than ours. I added a little of this oil to my hair between washing and drying, and it assisted greatly in keeping my hair healthy and shiny. I also used it on my face, which kept it healthy and hydrated despite soaring temperatures huge days and sleeping in hotels.
The Essano Rosehip Oil is subtly scented and nongreasy, washing cleanly from hands and leaving no residue on the areas treated. It imparts a healthy feel and glow to skin and hair alike, and is considerably cheaper than alternatives brands, for a comparable result.
