Tips: The more you rub it in the better the powdered finish look gets and you don't need a lot.
I have been a BB girl for quite some time now. Especially as I find I only need a light to medium coverage on my skin as my complexion itself is good (most of the time), but its my uneven skin tone that I want to fix. I heard mixed reviews about this BB cream, so requested a sample from Oasis, which arrived so fast!
I began using this BB cream in winter, and I actually didn’t like it. In winter, my skin tends to get quite dry, and this BB cream, with its powder finish actually tended to enhance the dryness so I wasn’t too happy with it. As well as this, my winter skin was just a tad to light for the Hepburn BB cream so I stopped using the sample, and begin using it again in spring, when my skin was not so dry, and a bit darker in colour. And this is when I fell in love.
The bb cream had a thick and almost rich consistency to it, being the same colour as other BB creams, but obviously a bit darker as it is the Hepburn (the darkest BB shade Oasis offers), and the cream has a slight sheen to it. The samples come in generous little pottles so you really get to have a good try of the product before buying, which I did. The full size product comes in a plastic bottle which using a pump to disperse the bb cream. A method I love because it keep the product sanitary, and keeps yucky germs out! It has the beautiful Oasis coloured label, and is just packaged in a clean and crisp design which is effective.
I have tried numerous ways of applying this BB cream, and I have to say the best method I have found it using a sponge. Currently I use the Real technique sponge, and it is perfect for blending the BB cream, and provides a smooth and near flawless coverage. Another positive thing about the BB cream is it feels so light weight, but it is actually a full coverage product. I did try using my fingers initially, but found it could get a perfectly smooth look!
Plus the last amazing thing about this product is that it is made by Oasis, so I don’t have to worry about what’s in the BB cream, and I can trust it is good for my skin. Especially as it is paraben and fragrance free
I do enjoy using this product. Its light weight, and has none of those bad ingredients in it and it provides great coverage. The only thing about this product is its only a product I can use in the warmer months because that’s the only time of the year I can get a good colour match, and because in winter, the finish on the BB cream enhances my dry skin, rather then hiding it!
I do recommend this product, get a sample to ensure you can find a shade right for your skin!
A friend recommended Oasis to me, so I ordered a sample size of the Monroe BB Cream. Before my sample even ran out I decided that I loved it and needed to order a full size! It's perfect if you don't feel like wearing much makeup - but still want a bit of coverage.
I am in love with this BB cream. Simple packaging but it has a pump so it is super easy to get the perfect amount without wastage and its hygienic. It's quite thick but I love that as the coverage is almost as good as a foundation. I wear it every day (for at least a month) and I haven't had any breakouts or dry spots I would almost prefer this to foundation. It's easy to apply (I just use a brush) and it has a great matte finish. Not really much of a smell to it. I love how it's SPF and has no nasties and everyone knows Oasis is cruelty free!! There is not one bad thing about this product. I have recommended this to several family members who have sampled it and loved it too
Tips: I use a serum underneath just to keep my skin that wee bit softer
This BB cream was a little thicker than others I have tried before. Other than that I would say the results were fairly similar to other BB creams. I think the coverage may have been a little thicker due to the thickness of the BB cream, which is ideal if you are wanting to hide imprefections. Howver the reason why I would most likely be choosing this BB cream over other brands is because it is organic; which makes me feel like I'm looking after my skin better, and because it is New Zealand made. If I can I always do try to buy New Zealand made, so that would definitely be a contributor.
Packaging is lovely a nice plastic pump bottle, simple but very appealing. This does help cover some of my many imperfections and is nice over a moisturiser much easier to spread around otherwise it does catch onto the skin and make smearing it around quite difficult, without moisturising first it went a bit tacky and was hard to do an even application and went a bit patchy but I do have dry skin. I find its a light cover and love the fact it contains sunscreen so I put it right down my neck as well. I do like the natural fresh face look it gives and the dewy finish gives my skin a nice glow. My skin does like this product it feels nice with this on, not drying at all. It is quite a light colour and fragrance wise it faintly has a sweet scent. I do like the fact that it's also good for your skin.
Tips: I apply moisturiser on first
So I have a really hard time getting any sort of liquid foundations to work on my patchy, combo, sensitive skin but I've found that my little sample of "The Bardot" is not only perfect for my skin type but also my skin tone. I personally like to pair it with my loose mineral foundation for my preferred coverage and finish. I don't like using my flat foundation brush for it, but with a sponge or even a stipple brush or something similar could really help out. Doesn't cling to dry patches, doesn't melt off of my face and gives me a nice finish. Light coverage but very buildable. I have also noticed that it makes the pores on my nose and cheeks look drastically smaller.
Tips: Apply with sponge or stippling brush. Fingers work too, so don't be afraid if you haven't got any good face brushes.
It's been really interesting reading these reviews after the Oasis freebee samples and then their sale. I have been using a sample of Oasis BB Monroe which is a really nice colour for me. I liked it as a really light coverage that could still cover blemishes. I found it looked great when I applied it, with little dabs on problem areas and then lightly swept over the rest of my face - definitely good for light coverage and daily wear. The only thing I didn't like is that if I had blemishes that were a little bit dried out it went kind of flaky around those areas after a few hours. So potentially best to wear when you're having a good skin day!
I was considering buying it as my next foundation but haven't fully decided yet. I need to keep using it consistently to know if it lives up to it's name with improving my skin - it has been clearing up but that could be due to other factors too.
I do love that it is NZ made and that is definitely a factor towards me wanting to buy a full size one to continue with.
Tips: You can request a sample from the company's website and they'll send a little mini of the product to try in the post!
The first thing I noticed about this BB cream is that it has a slightly odd smell, similar to playdoh. It's pretty faint so once I got past that and applied it I found it went on smoothly and absorbed into my skin quite quickly. It has a sheer coverage, even though it looks quite dark it blends into your skin well and enhances your natural complexion without covering it up too much. This would be an ideal product if your skin was already clear, and you just wanted a natural product to give you a more airbrushed finish. I wouldn't recommend it if you have problems wit breakouts or uneven skintone as it doesn't cover as well as other BB creams. I also found it can have a slightly sticky feel until it sets, or you put finishing powder on. Overall I love the look of the cream, but my skin isn't good enough to flaunt with this product alone.
Tips: Apply with a brush or sponge - Oasis have great tips on their website for getting the perfect application.
I gotta say. What the hell do they use because it's good! So good, I'm in love with their Hepburn and Monroe bb creams. I tried the sample size and I loved it. They are expensive for one but they are going to save your skin. All their bb creams look so matte and they dry pretty quick.
I definitely can't wait till I'm rich to buy and buy from oasis beauty. You women are out of this world. Love your so much
Tips: Only tip. Would be to work quick because it does dry quickly.
