Ladies that wear heavy eye makeup like myself will understand the struggle when it comes to finding the perfect makeup remover. We want our eye makeup to be perfect and flawless through out the whole day until its time to take it off, then we want it removed as quickly and as easy as possible.
My husband brought me a YSL gift set for Christmas and the top secret eye make up remover was one of the gifts inside.
When you look from the outside it looks like the bottle is half full but when you get closer its just a two toned formula.
Before using this you need to shake thoroughly. Once you unscrew the lid you squeeze how much you need onto a cotton pad, because of the price of this remover I only use this for when I'm wearing heavy eye makeup. You dont need to apply any pressure when removing your makeup, normally the first wipe over your eyelids removes the eye shadow and most of your liquid eye liner. The next few wipes remove most of your mascara.
I have never EVER seen my eye makeup be removed as quick and easy before and your not left with any oiliness, your skin looks refreshed and soft.
The price really does scare me even though the product does work, if you have the money to purchase this I highly recommend it, its worth it if its in your budget.
I got a mini travel size of this to try out before buying the full size. Mine was packaged differently in a pink bottle but it was the same bi-phase type makeup remover inside.
The lid had a wide opening, so the product inside came out quite easily onto my cotton pad. I held it over my eye for about 20 seconds to let it do its magic and then rubbed lightly to see how much it could remove. To my satisfaction most of my waterproof mascara, eyeliner, and eyeshadow had been removed. There was a little bit of mascara smudge left over but that came off easily in a few more wipes. It definitely does well in terms of removing stubborn eyemakeup.
Next came the not so pleasant part. Little did I know that the next day I would wake up with itching eyes and peeling around my inner corners. At first I thought I'd gotten sunburnt since I get a similar reaction. I thought nothing of it and stopped wearing makeup for a few days to let my skin recover. Then when I tried it again after about a week and got the same reaction, it occured to me that this was the culprit.
I'm super disappointed because it works great but my sensitive skin hates it. The bottle wasn't cheap either, and I'd only gotten two uses out of it. So bottom line is if you've normal skin then this is amazing, but if you've sensitive eye area then be super wary or religiously patch test before using it.
