I really wanted to try this since I had tried a few oil cleansers and this one was one of the better known ones. I double cleanse nightly and I wanted to see if this would out perform the more affordable cleansing oils I had. This cleansing oil is quite thin feels like oil until you rub it on your face and then it turns milky. Taking my makeup off with this was a breeze. It removed like 90% of my makeup on the first wash and then the rest one the second. The bonus with this oil cleanser is that I can use it to take off my eye makeup as well as it hardly stings my eyes but effectively removes my eyeliner. I washed my face twice with this and whatever didn't come off in the first round came off the second time. I usually have to use a separate eye makeup remover to get off my eye makeup and that's when I get off what's left of my lipstick but this got most of that off on the first wash and the second wash took the rest off. Now some oil cleansers leave an oily residue or film on your skin. This one doesn't, everything rinses off clean. The ingredients are caprylic/capric triglyceride, apricot kernel oil, PEG-40 sorbitan peroleate, vitamin e, borage oil, aleurites moluccana seed oil, rice bran oil, to-mato extract, tocopherol, sunflower seed oil, safflower seed oil, cetyl ethylhexanoate, C12-15 alkyl benzoate, decyl olive esters, dicaprylyl carbonate, citral, limonene, linalool, grapefruit peel oil, lavandula hybrida oil, cymbopogon schoenanthus oil, orange oil, lavender oil, mandarin orange peel oil, isopropylparaben, isobutylparaben and butylparaben. So it does start off with some really nice natural ingredients but isn't all natural. While the performance of this cleansing oil is stellar, I think 67 bucks for 150mls at the time of this review is way more than what i would spend on a cleansing oil. If it was half that price I would purchase the larger bottle.

Tips: This cleansing oil is gentle enough to remove eye makeup and lipstick. First cleanse gets off most of your makeup, second round gets it all off. This cleansing oil is really pricey so if you're determined to get it wait till Dermalogica does a gwp or has a discount so you can get more for your buck.
I use this when I have wore lots of makeup it is a good to get all the makeup off my face and make me feel like I have been to the spa and had a facial. Great product
Recently I decided that I wanted to try a new skincare range. My previous uber expensive range wasn't doing anything for me, so once finished I was ready for something new. I decided to go with Dermalogica due to it's great reviews, and also the ability to purchase things in smaller sizes to test before really stretching the purse strings for the bigger sizes.
I purchased this in the smaller size, almost a travel size really. It comes in a plastic white container, with a twist lid. What annoys me about all the Dermalogica packaging is the inability to see how much is left. There is nothing worse than running out of a product with nothing to replace it (first world problems here).
The product itself comes out as a clear oil. Once rubbed in your hands with a little water it becomes slightly milky. I then put this on my face and all my makeup comes off. In the past with oil cleansers I haven't liked the residue that it left on my skin but I feel like this is so light that it doesn't do this. It takes my makeup off effectively but doesn't leave my skin stripped like other cleansers.
I'm off to repurchase this as I think it is fab. Would recommend.
I got a sample sachet of Dermalogica Precleanse, so I can't comment on full sized packaging. Precleanse is a deep-cleansing emulsifying oil that effectively removes excess sebum (oil), sunscreen, make-up and impurities from skin, including long-wear eyeliner pencil and 14hr long-wear lipstick. It claims to even remove waterproof mascara, but as I don't use waterproof mascara, I can't comment on whether it lives up to this promise or not. Applied just like any other oil cleanser (with dry hands, onto dry skin), this precleanse cleansing oil feels smooth and smells wonderful and it emulsifies into a light, milky consistency when a little water is added and massaged into the oil, before simply rinsing away.
Containing Apricot Kernel Oil, Rice Bran Oil, Tomato Extract, Sunflower Seed Oil, Safflower Seed Oil, Lemon Extract, Grapefruit Peel Oil, Orange Oil, Lavender Oil and Mandarin Orange Peel Oil, it has a lovely, soothing citrusy-lavender scent. Unfortunately, it is not paraben free. It does contain Isopropylparaben, Isobutylparaben and Butylparaben.
Would I use it again? Probably not. Don't get me wrong, it's a great cleansing oil, I just wouldn't use it because I'm trying to move away from products containing parabens and this cleansing oil is also quite expensive compared to many others that I've tried. Would I recommend it? Yes. If it's possible for you to get your hands on a sample first, give it a go and see if you like it.
Tips: If you can, try before you buy.
I have tried this, both as a product and part of facial. To say that it is effective is an understatement. For the facial I came in not wearing makeup and when the therapist removed it there must have been makeup in my pores from the day before....shame! It's easy to use and does melt of the makeup with a bit of a massage in. I find this step before another cleanser helps remove all the makeup I wear (which can be a lot on some days). I think it does help keep some of my spots at bay as I am doing a better job of removing more makeup at the end of the day.
However, the only thing I'm not fussed on is the price. I've never been able to afford a large bottle, but the travel size is good.
Tips: Use a small amount in the palm, as it's quite liquid. Use with dry hands and facial skin for best results.
If you're not sure you should be able to get a sample or try the travel size as it's less commitment than a full size.
I wasnt totally convinced in trying this product as i thought it looked abit basic for my liking. I felt it did a great job in getting rid of make up and purifying face before applying normal cleanser. Great product love to use from time to time.
The first time I go into David Jones and ended up at the Dermalogica stand because I've always been curious. After an analysis, I ended up with one of these to include as part of my daily cleansing routine. Fortunately most of the products recommended to me were available in travel sizes so I got to try these with less of a commitment if they didn't work out. The pre-cleanse is an oil that you apply to your face at the start of cleaning to dissolve the dirt and make up in preparation for cleaning. I wet my face first and then used a couple of drops and smeared it over my face and then you wash it off with warm water. I'm pretty happy about using this as the product does loosen up makeup which is always awesome at the end of the day. It's pretty good stuff.
Tips: Buy the travel size.
I was a little confused by pre-cleanser at first and took a bit of convincing to try it but I am so glad I did! It is an oil that is designed to be used before your usual cleanser. You only need a small amount on dry skin, rub into your skin and then wet your fingertips and massage it into your skin. Wetting it turns the oil really gorgeous and creamy and then you simply rinse off and cleanse as usual. I started using this during summer so I really noticed the extra clean feel - with all the extra moisturisers and sunscreens etc we wear over the warmer months, this really cuts through all of that and leaves behind beautifully refreshed, cleansed skin.
I have to admit, that using this product was very different for me and not easily adopted because it's basically an additional (pre) step to your normal cleansing routine. However, it works like a charm. I found that the formula was a bit strange at first, somewhere between being very runny but somehow with an oily sort of feel and texture.
If you wear makeup regularly, you will love this because it will fast become the essential step in complete makeup removal.
I love it, and you can immediately see it working as your makeup melts away. I feel so much cleaner & my skin obviously loves it too - it's so gentle and there is no irritation or adverse reactions. Highly recommend!
Although this is a beautiful product, there are so many other pre cleansers on the market that are a lot more affordable. I will say it does get the job done though and it takes off the heaviest of makeup with a very small amount so it would be an investment if you're looking for a luxury makeup remover.
