In the past I have always sunbathed trying to darken my legs until about 4 months ago I realized how bad and how damaging it is of my skin. After vowing to not sun bathe again I looked for self tanning options and it overwhelmed me so much! In my time of self tanners there was only gradual tanning cream or the body builders instant tan but these days the possibilities are endless you just have to pick which form you would like.
Beauty review made that choice really easy when they added Tantastic to the Beauty review vault, I was really nervous applying this so I waited until my sister came to guide me through the process. And to be honest I have no idea why I was so nervous! I purchased a tanning mitt from the chemist and stripped down, starting with my legs I used 1-2 pumps per area, the formula just absorbs into your skin so effortlessly, the smell isn't as overpowering as the previous gradual tanning creams I've used and it was quite pleasant.
Tanning myself took 20-30 minutes the first time I used it I was very thorough with how much I applied and where I rubbed as I feared I would make it streaky, the only bad thing is I didn't pay more attention to my feet and didn't put any on the sides of my feet and it looked really silly for the first few days! I had to wear shoes until the color evened out.
Also the second day of application I was bright orange! That really put me off self tanning but the next day I was an really nice brown colour, so tanners beware if you have somewhere to go I would self tan at least a few days prior to where your going.
It fades very slowly and gradual as it says, I'm now on day 10 and I still have a hint of tan left, i would highly recommend this tanner to anyone, its fantastic and a much better option than sitting in the sun.
I love a good fake tan so naturally picked this up when I saw it in the Beauty Vault, drawn to it's claim of being both odourless and lasting 10 days, a win-win in my book. I have medium-toned skin which tans easily so the 'deep bronze' colour sounded great to me.
To it's first claim, I wouldn't say it's odourless but the scent is not overpowering like most fake tans, and you don't get the residual fake tan smell that normally lingers on everything after the usual tan. In fact, no one would be the wiser that it isn't your own natural complexion causing that glow!
The application is probably the easiest out of any fake tan I have ever applied (and I've used a lot!). I apply it to my body using Tantastic's tanning mitt to rub it in. The mousse formula makes it easy to regulate how much product you're applying at any time, I normally use 1-2 pumps at a time for each area as I found this allows for an even coverage of colour.
The Tantastic Mousse dries really quickly, 5 minutes later and you can safely get dressed without fear of fake tan getting all over your clothes or staining your sheets, so it's super-convenient for those who don't want to spend ages walking around their home (half)naked.
The finish is also one of the best I have ever seen, no streaks, I've only had a couple of patchy incidences in my first application. I found the colour on me turned out incredibly natural, similar to what I'd look like from lying on a beach all day but without that pesky sun damage. This particular shade probably wouldn't suit very fair ladies but is perfect for fair-medium tones.
I've found this performed so well that I ended up cancelling a spray tan before a holiday as I was happy with my at-home results. While the product states 5 full bodies, I have used this 3 times so far and there's over half left as I wouldn't always tan full-body.
This is a self-tanning product that is well worth the repurchase if you love a good, natural-looking tan.
Tips: Apply using a tanning mitt with 1-2 pumps at a time so you can better regulate the application.
