A decade ago while backpacking, I came across this handcream in a Paris department store. While I looked longingly at all the other products out of my budget, I justified the 20 Euro's on the 2 for 1 tubes of Clarins handcream. I had used it once before a few years earlier, and knew it could work wonders. Since then, it has become my one secret indulgence that no matter how broke I am, I will find the $$ to get me a tube. The tube is standard white Clarins with red print. Its a 100g, which given its a rich, thick white cream, goes a long way. Smell is pleasant, slightly floral. Absorbs easily and the bit of residue, which isn't greasy, disappears after just a few minutes. No need for second squeezes. This says what it does. After a couple of weeks, nails are noticably stronger. Skin on backs of hands has smoothed out, hands feel wonderfully hydrated. The few times I have not replenished my supply after it runs out, I realise the difference. Cuticles build up, nails break a little easier, skin feels drier. So once again, I indulge, only now it is at NZ prices. Is it worth it? I think so. My hands tell me so. I have not found another hand cream that works like this. This really does make them look and feel healthy and smooth.

Tips: If cuticles are a little dry or nails start to split, you can use this specifically on your nails like a cuticle balm, rather than just as a hand cream. Also good on dry elbows, and even used on dry skin on bottom of feet while backpacking, with good results.
I have 3 tubes of this beautiful product. First of all I love the compact size, it's great for carrying around. The packaging is minimalist and pretty. I love the texture, it is non-greasy and absorbs well. The smell isn't overpowering but very lovely, soothing and relaxing. My hands are quite dry, but I feel this cream keeps my skin nourished for quite a long while. It is pricey though, might not be an essential purchase but rather pick me up from time to time.
Love this hand cream. I think it's the only hand cream that actually has ingredients that can wind back the ageing of hands.
The cream itself is lovely and thick but doesn't leave the greasy residue like other popular hand creams. The scent, like most of clarions products is orange, which I like and the scent tends to stick around which is lovely.
It is the kind of hand cream that at first seems like all the others and you question the price tag, but after about a month of use I found my hands looked smoother, my cuticles weren't peeling and dry looking like they once did, and my hands and nails looked generally a lot healthier looking. I don't tend to grow super long nails but they're more likely to all be a uniform length now thanks to this hand nail cream as they're breaking a lot less.
It has a higher price tag than others but this is the only one I've found delivers results, especially around the ageing of my hands. A little goes a long way with this product also, so it lasts a really long time.
You won't regret this purchase.
Tips: I tend to wait for gift with purchase deals to buy this, and often at Christmas time there are gift sets that have the cream in mini trios which is great for the handbag etc.
This hand cream smells, feels and is fantastic. I use this hand cream every night before bed and have personally seen a lot of improvement to my hands especially my nail growth, i've never been able to grow long nails my whole life until I started using this cream. My nails are stronger, smoother and my cuticles are very healthy. This cream absorbs quickly leaving your hands feeling silly and smooth without a greasy feeling.
Tips: If you travel occasionally remember to pick this up duty free for a bit of savings!
It’s pretty good but not too long after my palms feel a little tight & dry so it means my hand need a reapplication but overall it’s good
Quite nice. My dry old leather hands need something with bit more substance. Slightly oily. Leaves thin film
Tips: Good for keeping on top of your I’ll deep moisturise - say kept next to couch or bed. Not so good for everyday handbag usage
Pros: feels moisturised and lux Cons: expensive, and my hands feel a bit greasy afterwards
I haven’t used this for a long time, so do not know effects of long term use.
Tips: Don’t start with a lot, you’ll end up with greasy hands.
I have been using this handcream since I was in my 20s and I am now in my 50s. I haven’t used it for time and sometimes couldn’t afford to buy it. But I always go back to buying it as it is so lovely to texture the smell, just not overpowering at all and the lovely Shea butter really feels like it Sinks into your skin. I use it at the end of the day almost every day and when it’s rubbed into my hands, then I gently placed it on my face is the smell is so beautiful it’s one of those calming things to do at the end of the day . I have used lots of other hand creams over the years. I always go back to this one.
Tips: Farmers and pharmacies that stock clarins are really great and often has gift packs that include the hand cream so I wait for that ! I think it’s an amazing hand cream that you can use it absolutely any age from your teenager up to your grandma
I bought this and it does hydrate my hands and nails well. But the tube is quite small for the price. I would probably buy the bigger tube or the hand balm which seemed better suited to my hands which get really dry due to washing them alot
I looked at my hands recently and had a mini freak out for a second, my hands looked dry and old so I knew it was time to up the ante. The garden, picking up after kid, playing rough and tumble and farming aren't the kindest to my hands and digits but its the cool drying winter air that seems to be nailing (excuse the pun) my hands at the moment.
The packaging is simple Clarins, White squeeze tube with a screw top lid. Also handy as it sits on it lid so it's easy to squeeze out quickly, This hand cream is delish, the cream is a thick white cream with a kind of fruity scent, it absorbs nicely and it leaves a bit of a greasy residue for 10 minutes or so but its not too unpleasant. for a start I thought it was like any old hand cream nothing special about it but after 2 weeks of use using it at least 3 times a day I'm happy to say I have noticed a difference, my hands look smooth and the lines and creases have smoothed out a lot already. It also says it helps target age spots but I haven't got any of those so can't comment on that. And the nails? Well my nails were already hard and grew fast (I don't know why I'm a mum and farmer) I have gone from someone who would hide my hands to someone who is actually a wee bit proud of them now just because they look so good.
