Tantastic Self Tanning Gel Review

I have been using this brand for awhile now but normally use the liquid but decided to try out the gel as I found the liquid can be quite messy to apply.I am not too keen on the gel for a couple of reasons,one being that it can go patchy as it is quite thick to apply and two,it goes on too dark and can look very orange and fake looking although this does tone down after showering the next day.What I do love about this brand is that they use natural products and there is no chemical smell plus their products dry quick and do not stain your clothing.I do find the tan does last at least 7 days and fades quite well without it being too noticeable.

After reading some good reviews about this tanning gel here I decided to get this product with my beauty vault points, and Im glad I did!

Before I applied this product I made sure I exfoliated and moisturised the day prior. I didnt have a mitt so I just applied the gel with my hands. The gel has a bronze colour and a light, non-greasy formula which was easy to apply. I waited a few minutes for it to dry and was pleased that it didnt streak or go patchy on my skin.

I didnt really like the smell, it was a little bit to strong for me. The chemical smell lasted for awhile and wasnt easy to disguise.

The results were great overall, I liked the golden brown colour I was left with which lasted about three days and I also noticed that it left my skin feeling nice and smooth.

Tantastic was easy to apply using the supplied tanning mitt. The formulation was tinted which made application easy as you could see any spots or streaks that needed attention. The gel was easy to use however I did find it went sticky if left on for two long but I was able to pat out those areas and ended up with a beautifully glowing streak free tan.

The smell is pretty much non existent and once the product has dried you are not left with that "fake tan" smell!

So, the most important part - the colour. I am lucky enough to have very yellow based skin so I can use pretty much all fake tans. I LOVED LOVED LOVED the colour of this tan, so deep and golden. (I would think twice if you are very pale or have very pink based skin). I got a few comments of how brown I looked and I was really proud of the the tan I was sporting. Tantastic would have to be the deepest home tan I have achieved. A little goes a long way so I would think you could get 4 or 5 full tans out of the bottle.

Application is easy using the supplied mit (I love how your hands do not get dirty using it) The product does not take long to dry and I am able to dress minutes later.

The tans wears off very nicely considering how brown you go. It does wear off in patches however I find if you moisturise everyday then give your body a good scrub a few days later you can avoid the build up in areas.

The pink packaging I found a bit cheap looking at first but the result is so worth it and really could care less about the bottle it comes in with the result it produces.

This tanning gel is a tanning gel that makes you go from 0 to 100 real quick, I found that even though it gave me a nice overall tan it didn't look that natural and had a little pigment of orange so if applied to much you looked like an orange Oompa Loompa, it also says that it last 7 days I found it lasted 3 days at the very most, and lasted 7 days in areas like breasts or stomach, i did like the tan it gave me though once I figured our how much should really be used for which areas and I didn't turn out orange.

I love this tan! I get really dark in summer but I often use tan to even up my colour, particularly around my stomach and upper legs. I used the mitt to apply the gel and it was really easy. It went on smoothly and didn't smell yucky. I slept in mine and in the morning the colour was quite orangey. A shower washed off the orange tinge and I was left with a really nice glow and my skin feels amazing. I've had a few compliments on my legs so it must have worked a treat! Will definitely use this again!

This tanning product is a gel consistency which makes its simple to blend and buff into my skin, you can see where the product has gone so if you want to deepen the tan on certain areas it is very easy to do so.

The tanning mitt which came with it, is a smooth and soft bouncy foam like material, which protects your hands from getting the product on it. I would say it is essential as the combination of both, gave me a beautiful glow and blended without any extra effort.

The gel does not have much fragrance to it when on the mitt or out of the bottle, but once it is settled on your skin and developing, it has a slight 'baked until golden' like most other tanning products have. Which is a scent I really like, it reminds me of summer and beach days.

I would say I could easily get 5-7 uses out of the one bottle which is really good for the price! Even more uses if I was just to use it for just the upper body when wearing a maxi dress, or just legs when wearing a skirt in winter.

This tan lasted easily 7 days before I scrubbed it off as it started to wearing off due to showers/exercise. It came off well with and good scrub with an exfoliating mitt in the shower.

I really loved the packaging it was really cute! And completely waterproof so you can get it wet without having to worry about it. The lid is a screw top and a squeeze bottle so you can get your desired amount with ease. Also so very handy that it has the instructions in the box it comes with, which in depth completely. For someone like me who has not used a proper 'at home self tanner' I could understand and follow really easily.

Now, for the results. I followed all instructions, I exfoliated thoroughly, shaved 24 hours before hand, and moisturised the driest parts of the body (elbows, ankles, knees and hands) and applied onto clean, dry skin, and WOW was I impressed! It gave me beautifully bronzed glow, which melted into my skin and dried fast. It has a brown/orange undertone which suited my olive skin perfectly. I also used some on my face which it suggests you can do and even though I was nervous and had my doubts, it worked extremely well, I have rather sensitive skin and this didn't irritate it and looked like I had been to the tropics for 2 weeks! Lastly, I'm not sure if it was a combination of exfoliating and the gel it left my skin feeling so soft and smooth and smelling lovely, but I can't wait to use it again!

Like I said in the title, I was left with beautiful bronzed tanned skin that adjusted with my natural skin colour which is very important in a self tanner. I got many compliments whilst I was tanned asking how natural it looked and sunkissed effect! Which is a real confidence booster.

I have naturally porcelain skin (as I am a redhead) and so for me, I've never been tanned in my life! I was really nervous to test out the tanning gel because I was scared I might end up looking like an Oompa Loompa! Firstly, the packaging is really cute for this product, and I loved that the box had lots of information about the entire range from Tantastic! And now the application... The applicator mitt i found was a little bit large, so it moved around a bit on my hand as I was applying the product (I have quite small hands and wrists), but once I saw that, I just changed how I was buffing the gel in, and it was fine. The gel itself is a deep orange-brown colour, but isn't at all too dark when applied, it buffs out really well, it doesn't smell overpowering at all, and it was super easy to do, PLUS, it can be used on your face as well, so you don't have to try and buy a separate face tanner and try match colours! Another good thing about this product is that you don't need loads to get decent coverage and colour, which means that it will last longer. The gel dried quickly, which was good because it means no long periods of waiting before getting dressed again, it only took about 5 minutes to dry and fully develop the colour. I dance a lot during the week, and was nervous that after my first class wearing the fake tan, it would have gone streaky and gross, but it didn't! Also, the tan fades nicely, with no patches, and it just looks amazing! Everyone who I have seen since using the tanning gel has said it looks super natural, I've been told that "in a good way, it looks like you coul be in Geordie Shore" and that I'm looking like a "bronzed beach babe", and "Malibu Barbie- in the best ways". I definitely look forward to continuing I use this amazing product!

What a great product! From the packaging to the smell and features! I'd definitely recommend this self tan lotion.

It's so easy to use with the mitt, and glides on really easily. I didn't have to use a lot to get the glow I was after but only started off with a little bit at the time. It looked to natural and made my legs looks flawless!

It lasted for ages and the best thing about it is that it doesn't smell like fake tan like other do. It also made me legs feel really smooth which I guess is the castor oil.

Would recommend to friends!

Im a whitey - i burn in summer, peel and then im back to white so i lurve fake tan. Im not too sure how i feel about this stuff.... It definitely coloured me in and had a more pleasant scent that some others but it is a very orange based tanning product whereas i think some others are green based?? I could be wrong. Its not that i wouldn't use this brand again because i would BUT it does come second to my favourite Bondi Sands foaming tan because of the intensity of the orange but also because it id more expensive.
