I was lovingly picked to trial this wonderful Fiji Papaya Enzyme Facial Scrub and was super excited as I missed out on this in the Beauty Vault.
The one thing that really stood out for me was the way the product was packaged, in a squeezy packet. Now whats great about a squeezy packet you ask? Well you know how you get a product and its in a bottle or tube and tub and you really find it hard to get all of the product out, well you don't have that problem with this scrub. Its such a wonderful way to store it, just simply unscrew, squeeze and out comes the product, and when you're nearing the bottom, you just roll it all up, genius.
Well what about the actual product itself, come on Sarah get with the programme lol. The formula is just beautiful, it is so creamy and soft that its actually hard to believe its a scrub, some can be super harsh, but this one is so soft and gentle, perfect for my sensitive skin.
For some reason I associate Fiji with coconut but this one is tropical fruit, not overly powerful, more subtle. You can definitely smell the papaya in it which is really good and you feel like your in an exotic hotel using their toiletries.
Results, to be honest I didn't see a huge difference in my skin, because according to the directions, you only use it once a week, and with the time frame to review it, I needed to use it more than once a week to really get an idea as to how good this product was. With more use, I will be able to really get a feel for what difference it will do for my skin.
It does leave your skin feeling refreshed and soft and really clean, like you've just had a facial. If you are looking for something a little different to the usual scrubs you use, then this product would be perfect, your once a week treat especially as the price is a tad high.
Overall, it was a wonderful scrub and I would love to try others in the range.
I must admit this was probably one of the hardest reviews I have ever written but thank you BR for the chance to review this product and really put my review skills to work. Usually all products have a list of promises and I go along and tick each one in the review process and draw my conclusion on whether it lived up to the promises. This enigma scrub gave nothing away!
Packaging - For a product that is 50g and has a hefty price tag, my inner snob wants glamourous packaging. The face scrub is housed in what looks like a one of those yoghurt suckers you have on the go. Its just in a foil bag with a screw top that can be squeezed. Its not very stylist and appealing in my opinion. If I just walked past it I wouldnt have given it second glance because nothing is screaming "let me touch your face"!
Price tag - Golly gumdrops, I have never put anything that comes in a plastic bag with $52 on my face. Again, I'm struggling to do the aesthetic math in my head because a cleanser worth $52 should be packaged in diamonds right? Unfortuanately this product doesn't look like its worth $52 which is disappointing.
What is this? - The scrub looks like a face mask and even has he texture of the face mask. It is thick and creamy with an ever so fine grit in the scrub. When you screw the cap off its a fruit bowl slap in the face and an amazing sweet aroma. I fell inlove with smell straight off the bat. The colour is a murky brown, which isnt very appealing for a face scrub but is forgiveable because it smells and feels so luxurious.
What does it do? - The only product instruction you will get it that you should exfoliate once a week for soft skin. Well, because that is not possible in a 10 day trial period I used this face every second night and morning. I was really worried that it would turn me into an oil spill because I cant exfoliate more than once a week. I used about a 10 cents coin amount every time and rubbed it into my face for a 1 minute. The micro beads are so gentle that you hardly even notice its an exfoliant as apposed to a normal face wash. Huge surprise because it gave me no extra oiliness. Huge tick in my books because that means I can safely use an exfoliant more than once a week and it will be good to my skin.
My skin? I wash my face with warm water, add the scrub for a minute and then add some more water while I'm scrubbing. This scrub doesnt lather which is great and proof that there are no nasty chemicals present in the face scrub. I rinse my face and my skin is left in quite a confused state but not a bad confused. My skin isnt immediately smooth and baby soft just by using the product, so I have to run for my night moisturiser. What I found is that the face scrub is helping my night and days creams absorb better into my skin and once my skin has absorbed the cream, its unbelievably soft and woken to life.
Tips: Promises? - I found a few promises this product could possibly claim as their own. It removes my face makeup (not mascara), I can feel the scrub opening up my pores whilst I'm using it and my creams are performing so much better by absorbing quicker, it pull out all the crud from my face and my glowing alot more now which is strange because it never glows in winter. This product has proven to me its truly whats on the inside that matters, and its not just applicable to relationships. I judged this product to be cheap and undesirable because of the packaging but when it came to the real business, I'm left in awe. This face scrub is amazing. Would I purchase it for myself? probably not because $52 is very steep to be spending on a face cleanser. After using it a few days I actually realised that the packaging is not so bad after all because it would be light weight and easily to carry when you're travelling. This is a great product for skin maintenance and keeping a healthy glow. I've used this as a face mask a few times. It doesnt get hard and stiff on your face but the longer you keep it on the face the softer it becomes.
