I really enjoyed this scrub, but let me first say that I was given the chance to trial it through Beauty Review - THANKS!!
I would also say that I don't think it would be worth the $52, but again I'm not sure how much it actually costs in the shops!
The product itself is really nice, quite thin and with a clay base so it doesn't lather or anything. I would recommend using it after you've washed your face as I reckon you'd get way better results on a clean face.
I used it for about a week and my skin has been really good, hopefully it's as a result of this!! The packaging isn't great, but overall I really liked this product.
I really wanted to love this product as it looked/sounded so good based on the packaging. I expected it to smell amazing based on the list of natural ingredients and the reference to 'papaya' in the name - perhaps a tropical, fruity scent - but to me it just smells unpleasant and artificial.
I admit I am new to facial scrubs but I assume they are supposed to be one part of a wider skincare regime. I felt this product left my skin desperate for a separate cleansing, however. My skin felt like it was covered in a greasy layer after use and I couldn't wait to slap on my face wash and get rid of that sensation. I had really hoped for a magical sensory experience that left my skin feeling kissed by the gods themselves. No dice.
I'm also not a fan of the packaging. I found it difficult to dispense product and then do the little screw cap back up with one hand before placing the packet down again, so it wouldn't ooze all over my vanity. This problem was even worse in the shower - following the directions to 'exfoliate with steam' I tried it out at the end of my morning shower. You really do need to replace the cap immediately so you don't splash water inside and it was super hard juggling a blob of product on one hand and the packet in the other and the lid between the two with all of this water raining down.
I didn't notice any changes in my skin after using this product but I have only used it twice, so I will continue using it to see if there are any long term benefits that redeem its other shortcomings.
Tips: If you're going to use it in the shower, depot a small amount into a more convenient container!
